The aromatics are out-of-this-world expressive, with notes of caramelized peach, marshmallow, mandarin orange, and a defined, euphoric hint of Hawaiian plumeria. Quite fleshy and concentrated with zesty acidity. So drinkable now and will age well. Screw cap.

We had such great success with Almarada's Malbec we very excited to find out that made a Cabernet. Once we tried it, we knew we had to have it in our stores. This Cabernet leans toward Bordeaux in style. Nose of blackberry, graphite and a touch of tobacco. Medium to full body with rich fruit on the pallet and some nice silky tannins on the finish.
Antonio Mas was born in Mendoza and holds a BA in Agronomy from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. He has devoted his time to study every clone from the varieties he has cultivated and vinified and is one of the leading experts in his field. In 1992 he established the first Argentinean boutique winery: Finca La Anita. Vibrant black currant, violet, vanilla and toasty oak flavors are the hallmarks of this classy red, which is succulent and balanced, with fine grip and a long, fruit-, iron- and spice-tinged aftertaste. More on the elegant side than powerful, yet this would benefit from an additional two to three years aging. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. The Marchesi Antinori 2018 Solaia reveals a silky and elegant personality, and the wine steps away from some of the more robust fruit weight and dark concentration that we've seen in the past. This elegant vintage prizes fruit purity and focus with black plum, cassis, blue flower, pencil shaving and lots of sweet spice from the oak that recalls clove and toasted almond. The blend is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. The fruit is harvested at the Antinori family's Tenuta Tignanello at the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation. The percentage of Cabernet Franc used in the blend is the ultimate Solaia wild card. In this vintage, the Franc has been increased to 7%, and that number is expected to be even higher in 2019 as the vines get older and the fruit more complex. Production of Solaia is 65,000 bottles in this vintage. This is a beautiful wine, but if pressed I must admit a preference for the 2018 Tignanello (the other celebrated wine crafted at this property). The 2018 Solaia is delicious on all fronts as expected, but the 2018 Tignanello struck at my heart strings. Either way, these are stunning results.

Very aromatic and lively on the nose with currants, fresh herbs, white pepper and cherry blossoms. Full-bodied with a vertical, multilayered structure and ultra fine tannins. Velvety texture. Extremely long and focused. Complex and succulent. This is the smallest production of Solaia ever. Great length. This is a beautifully complex red that’s open now, but needs another three to four years to show even more of its excellence.

The 2018 Solaia continues to develop beautifully. Resonant and ample on the palate, with tons of vibrancy, the 2018 offers terrific vibrancy as well as character. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, blackberry jam, licorice and spice build as the Solaia gains momentum over time. The 2018 is dense and beautifully layered, yet retains the mid-weight structure of this super elegant vintage.

Off the bat, it must be said that the Fèlsina 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia would certainly benefit from more cellar time and a long drinking window. It’s time to get your “friek” on as we unveil Frieky Bones, a limited new release from our Barrelworks wild ale cellar.
Frieky Bones is a re-imagination of our long-treasured Krieky Bones, a classic Flanders-style Kriek beer that we hadn’t made for a few years, and that was due for a reprise.
Barrelworks’ Master Blender Jim “Sour Jim” Crooks put is this way, as only he can: “The Krieky skeleton is now raised to the rafters as buckets of electrified cherry rain down, giving new life to a long-buried relative.”
Indeed, Frieky Bones was made with twice the typical amount of Montmorency cherries (totaling 3.5 pounds of fruit for every gallon of beer), creating an incredible wild ale that doubles down on delicious fruit flavors. The Montmorency cherries came from King Orchards in northern Michigan, and they were selected by Jim for their tart yet sumptuous character.
The cherries were co-fermented with a base Flanders-style ale that had spent two years in an oak foeder, and the resulting elixir was matured in oak for another four months prior to bottling.

The Ardnamurchan peninsula is a wonderfully remote “finger” of rocky land that stretches out to the furthest westerly point of the UK, just to the north of the Isle of Mull, and south of the Isle of Skye. It is accessed initially by a small ferry, and then by a narrow and twisty single track road.

It’s famous for its outstanding and untouched beauty and abundance of natural resources.
The Ardnamurchan Distillery opened in July 2014 and is situated half way along the peninsula in the small village of Glenbeg. It was designed to both look like a distillery, and also fit in with the surrounding buildings.

A classic Italian digestive liqueur, an Amaro (bitter in Italian) is a bittersweet, herb-infused fortified wine, which ranges in strength 15% to 40% in alcohol content. While bitter digestive liqueurs are produced across Europe and the world over, an Amaro denotes those originating in Italy. In Italy, Amari are traditionally served as an after-dinner drink, but Italian Amari are increasingly employed in a variety classic and innovative cocktails.

Pellegrino Amaro, whose alcohol content is 19%, has been produced and distilled in the province of Trapani in northwest Sicily by the Pellegrino family, an independent wine, bitters and spirits firm that dates back 130 years.

Pellegrino Amaro is produced from a carefully selected blend of Sicilian herbs and then blended with distilled wine sourced exclusively grapes grown in the island’s Marsala Denominazione d’Origine Protetta (DOC). The resulting Amaro is aged more than five years in Slovenian oak casks ranging in size from 1,300-2,100 gallons.
