2010 Domaine Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc....$55.99
The domaine’s 2010 Bourgogne is a gorgeous wine at this level. It captures all of the Leflaive signatures in a remarkably pure, crystalline interpretation of the year. Bright, saline notes frame the fruit in this precise, jewel of a wine. Readers will not want to miss this gem. If there is a relatively affordable entry-level 2010 from a top-notch domaine that captures the greatness of the vintage, this is it. Anticipated maturity: 2012+.
Rated 90/100 The Wine Advocate

2010 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet Pucelles...$269.99
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Pucelles is a totally complete wine. It brings together the expressive bouquet and minerality of Combettes with some of the expressive fruit of the Folatieres. Vivid and multi-dimensional in the glass, the Pucelles wraps around the palate with serious intensity. Citrus, white flowers and green pears linger on the highly nuanced, refined finish. Today, though, the 2010 is incredibly tight. Its pedigree is impossible to miss. Leflaive’s Pucelles is easily one of the highlights of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2015+.
Rated 95+/100 The Wine Advocate

2010 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montachet Clavoillons...$139.99
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillons fleshes out beautifully in the glass with layers of expressive, textured fruit. This is one of the more open, forward wines in the lineup. It should drink nicely pretty much upon release. Yellow stone fruits, flowers and a hint of spice wraps around the soft, enveloping finish, where the minerality of the vintage emerges with pretty, finely-knit nuances. Anticipated maturity: 2014+.
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate

2010 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet AC...$199.99
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet caresses the palate with soft, expressive fruit. This beautiful, open Puligny villages will delight readers pretty much upon release. Hints of smoke, slate and crushed rocks are layered into the textured, inviting finish. It is another terrific entry-level offering from Leflaive. Anticipated maturity: 2012+.
Rated 90/100 The Wine Advocate

2010 Dom Leflaive Bienvenues Batard Montrachet...$439.99 / 750ml
2010 Dom Leflaive Bienvenues Batard Montrachet...$899.99 / 1.5ltr
(Very Rare)Things go up a notch or two with the 2010 Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet, which appears to hover on the palate with the grace of a ballerina. The Bienvenues is all about weightless elegance and implied structure, but it is all there in the glass. At times a bit intellectual, the Bienvenues is nevertheless immensely appealing. Layers of soft, perfumed fruit flow effortlessly to the nuanced, feminine finish. A hint of floral honey and almonds lingers on the palate. I can’t wait to see how this ages. Anticipated maturity: 2020+.

Marble Brewing Barley Wine Ale....SOLD OUT
Rated 92/100 RateBeer

"The Marble Brewery is a microbrewery in Manchester, England which makes cask ale from organic and vegetarian ingredients.
The brewery consists of a five barrel plant, designed and installed by Brendan Dobbin, former proprietor of the West Coast Brewing Company. The copper and hot liquor tank are situated in the back of the Marble Arch pub behind glass observation windows. The fermenters and conditioning tanks are in the cellars.
In 2000 the beers became strictly organic and later the same year they became strictly vegan. Marble's ingredients are sourced from non-intensive agriculture and they do not use isinglass finings, usually made from the swim bladder of the sturgeon, to clear the beer. Despite this the beer is seldom cloudy. Marble's head brewer, James Campbell, has said "We're busier than ever. The beer sells because it tastes good, but the vegetarian side is proving good for business. I've had people tell me that they hadn't been able to drink a pint of beer since they became vegetarians 10 years before. Then they found us." -- Wikipedia

Omnipollo - Sweden

In stock now at Forsyth and online

Omnipollo Leon...$5.99 / 11.2oz
"Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading out — in fear of having to drink bland lager all night — I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Fit for beer geeks and party freaks alike, Leon is whole-cone hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing. Evil Twin Wag N' Wisdom Wit....$11.99 / 16.9oz

"Somewhere between sense and sensibility this Wit was of wisdom and wag.  Fresh as a daisy, bitter to the end and twisted with kiwi hops and American reason.  Perhaps you'll find it more ingenious than funny, consider that mission accomplished.  As we say - better at witty wit than wit witty." - label

Vanilla Bean Smoked Stout

De Dochter Van de Korenaar Charbon...$10.99 / 22oz
A Superb dry stout with vanilla and smoke notes. Brewed with a portion of Weyermann Oak Smoked Wheat Malt, and whole Madagascar and Réunion vanilla beans that have been added twice during the brewing and maturation process, for extra complexity.
This ensures ’Charbon’ is a very pleasantly drinkable dry stout, with an interesting aroma and flavour to treat the real beer enthusiasts.
Dry Stout - Rated 98/100 RateBeer for the style

"Dochter Van De Korenaar Charbon – the newest creation from one of the most inventive and stylistically agnostic brewers in Belgium. Ronald Mengerink’s Charbon in a study in balance. At once extraordinarily drinkable and full of flavor, Charbon is something of a foreign stout – a 7% dark ale of ample roast brewed with smoked malt and vanilla beans. Layers of seemingly contradictory flavors overlap with one another seemlessly, and what we’re left with is a difficult-to-define beer of great complexity and perhaps above all, great quaffability." - The Festival

Ramey 2009 is here!!!

In stock at Forsyth, Rock Hill, and Ballwin

Just arrived today -- in stock now
2009 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley...$49.99 / net
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, dramatic wine endowed with tremendous richness and power. A large-scaled, dramatic wine, the 2009 Cabernet sweeps across the palate with generous, deeply resonant fruit. This is shaping up to be another beauty from David Ramey. The 2009 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Lamoreaux, DeSantis, J. Davies and Somerston. Drink: 2014-2021."
93-95/100 The Wine Advocate

"Our fifth vintage of this appellation Cabernet, which represents a blend of hillside and valley floor vineyards. This year included the J. Davies Vineyard on Diamond Mountain, 21%; the Somerston hillside vineyard, 20%; DeSantis on the valley floor just north of Zinfandel Lane, 21%; Lamoreaux in Oak Knoll, 34%; and 4% from two small parcels. Aging on the fine lees incorporates the oak so that the two years spent in two-thirds new barrels (a mixture of French and American) is barely noticeable. As with all of our wines, it was fermented with native yeasts and bacteria and bottled without filtration. This wine combines the harmony produced by traditional Bordelaise winemaking techniques with the voluptuousness of a great Napa Valley vintage. 96% Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot." -- Winery

Boulevard Reverb

Boulevard Reverb Imperial Pilsner...$8.49 / 750ml
"You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten.  You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar.  Where can you go from there?  Where? [pause] These go to eleven." - Nigel Tufnel, This is Spinal Tap

"To some ears, the term, "imperial pilsner" might sound like an oxymoron.  How can a style as cleanly balanced and refined as a pilsner be "amped up" to imperial status?  Pilsner is arguably, just fine the way it is.    Where do you go from there?  The answer, of course: You go to eleven.
With its classic recipe and impeccable craftmanship, Reverb Imperial Pilsner echoes our Collaboration Number 1 Imperial Pilsner, produced in 2009 when with esteemed Orval brewmaster Jean-Marie Rock.  Like its predecessor, this new Summer Seasonal release is a study in delicately balanced contrasts.  A strakly simple recipe, using only Pilsner malt and Saaz hops, combined with a painstakingly complex brewing process, produce a beer of subtle elegance.  The venerable technique of "first wort hopping," -- adding hops at the beginning of the boil and allowing them to steep for a much longer time---gives the beer a refined hop aroma and flavor.  Pilsner malt makes a clear yet restrained statement up front, answered by try steady, harmonious hum of hop bitterness, traces of which linger in the dry, crisp finish.   Our Reverb Imperial Pilsner pairs melodiously with grilled seafood or chicken, or a wide variety of cheeses.  Really, though, it goes great with whatever is being served backstate.

FINESSE – PURITY – BALANCE
SANTA RITA HILLS, CALIFORNIA
COLLABORATION
RAJAT PARR – CHARLES BANKS – SASHI MOORMAN

From a cellar approach we go to great lengths to protect the vibrancy, freshness and energy that makes wines from the Santa Rita Hills so unique.   All wines are wild-yeast fermented.  For reds and whites we prefer used barrel and concrete vessels and do employ a small amount of new French oak.  All Chardonnays go through malo-lactic but the lees are not stirred or re-suspended.  Press cycles are also slower and longer to preserve the fresh floral aromatics.  Most Pinot Noirs are whole-cluster fermented because we feel the wines smell more alive, have a nice cola spice and more complex textures than wines that do not opt for this approach.  All wines are un-fined and un-filtered with zero additions of water, sugar, acid and enzymes.

2010 RITA’S CROWN CHARDONNAY                    374 cases
This is our first bottling from this promising site that is planted at the highest elevation in the region, hence the “Crown of Santa Rita”.  Planted at 600 to 1000 feet, Rita’s Crown is planted on diatomaceous soils, which are fossilized seashells and hallmarks of the appellation.  This soil creates a mineral thread in the wines while adding more stress to the vines concentrating the fruit flavors. Our sections are south facing receiving ample sun providing slightly riper & juicier fruit.

2010 BIEN NACIDO CHARDONNAY                        257 cases
We feel privileged to have access to this excellent and historic site in the Santa Maria Valley.  Our section, Block W, was planted in 1973 and is self-rooted Wente selection on alluvial soil, loam and river silt and is one of the oldest vineyards in the county.  Owned and farmed by the Miller Family, Bien Nacido (meaning “good birth” in Spanish) has long supplied fruit to some of the best producers in California. This bottling yields core citrus aromas of lemon and kumquat, gingerbread spice and a charming rusticity. The wine is juicy with a beautiful presence and will offer up several years of good drinking.

2010 SANTA RITA HILLS PINOT NOIR                   598 cases
This wine showcases all the exuberance of Santa Rita Hills and is a great entry level Pinot Noir.  It is a blend of our vineyard holdings in the Santa Rita Hills with over half the fruit from 40 year-old vines at the Sanford & Benedict vineyard with the rest coming from our sections and younger vines at Rita’s Crown and Bent Rock.  It has bright, shiny, crunchy black raspberry fruit with great aromatic lift of fruit, flowers and cola spice.

2010 BIEN NACIDO PINOT NOIR                            198 cases
We feel fortunate to have an opportunity to work with the fruit from this historic vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley.  Our fruit comes from Block 1, one of the original 1973 plantings, and is composed of selections from Mount Eden and Pommard. This wine has a broad, enticing nose dominated by dark cherry and cola.  It is sweet on the attack with a juicy, structured, umami like backbone.  There is ample richness and complexity to also handle a wider array of cuisine.

2010 SANFORD & BENEDICT CHARDONNAY         257 cases
Planted in 1971, Sanford & Benedict is the oldest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyard in Santa Barbara County, and one of the most iconic vineyards in California. Its north-facing location at the epicenter of the Santa Rita Hills appellation allows the grapes to ripen perfectly in the cool and foggy weather.  The diatomaceous soil delivers smaller yields and clusters. Due to the vine age & own-root system, have an added intensity & complexity

2010 SANFORD & BENEDICT PINOT NOIR            115 cases
Planted in 1971 by the legendary and pioneering Richard Sanford, this site represents the oldest Pinot Noir plantings in all of Santa Barbara County and is largely synonymous with the creation of the Santa Rita Hills appellation. Our sections both come from the oldest blocks (41 year old vines) where the vine trunks are gnarled producing small amounts of beautifully graceful, concentrated and textured fruit
