This Viura-Chardonnay blend displays aromas of green apple, citrus and vanilla. The palate is juicy, citric and clean, with tangerine, lemon peel and white grapefruit flavors. This is an ideal quaffing wine.
"Best Buy" - The Wine Enthusiast
Las Valles (translates to “The Valleys”) is produced by Bodegas Virgen del Águila, a modern, progressive cooperative near the town of Paniza. The bodega offers a wealth of vines (nearly 5,500 acres!) planted in prime terroir (more than 2,500 ft above sea level!) nestled against the Iberico mountain range. Offers aromas of citrus fruit, pineapple and wild flowers. Dry and extremely refreshing on the palate. Ideal as an aperitif, or paired with salads or delicately-flavored seafood or white meat dishes.

Isole E Olena Chianti Classico Gran Seleczione

Super small barrel selection of the best 2006 Cepparello barrels
Currently there are no retailers in the U.S. on Wine-Searcher.
2006 Isole E Olena Chianti Classico Gran Seleczione...$199.99
Only 12 bottles available.
This wine was not originally intended to be released under the Gran Seleczione designation but rather was created as a 50th anniversary bottling to commemorate the purchase of the Isole and Olena vineyards by Paolo Di Marchi's father in the 1950's. The Isole e Olena Chaniti Classico Gran Selezione is a barrel selection from the 2006 Cepparello, blended with 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Syrah, then aged in oak (1/3 new) for two years. After bottling, it was held in the winery’s cellar for another five years.

This wine has not been reviewed, but the 2006 Cepparello scored big
The 2006 Cepparello is a super classic wine. It brings together the best elements of the house style in its breathtaking aromatics, delineated fruit and striking overall balance. All of the elements are in the right place for the 2006 to develop into a spectacular wine. The 2006 stands apart for its nuance, depth and overall detail. Juicy red cherries, raspberries, rose petals and licorice build to the huge, dramatic finish. The 2006 is one of the all-time great Cepparellos. It bears more than a passing resemblance to the stunning 1988. The 2006 has blossomed beautifully in bottle over the last few years, and it is now clear I underestimated its potential. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2036.

THE VALHALLA COLLECTION
CONCLUDES WITH THE ARRIVAL OF THE ALLFATHER, ODIN
The past 100 days has seen many of you join us on the road to Asgard #Odin100, sharing knowledge and wisdom to appease the Allfather’s appetite. Our long journey is finally at an end and the gates of Valhalla have been thrown open with the Allfather’s arrival. ODIN now joins the ranks of The Valhalla Collection, four stunning whiskies celebrating Highland Park’s Norse heritage. ODIN, the King of Asgard himself, joins Thor, Loki and the beautiful Freya to complete this stunning collection.

Creating a single malt to reflect the dominant characteristics of ODIN was no easy feat but the Highland Park whisky makers have excelled. The Valhalla Collection is the perfect example of how you can put the personality of a god in a glass. ODIN packs a mighty punch at 55.8% ABV but finds a happy balance between the god and the distillery’s signature Orcadian style resulting in a rich and undeniably powerful 16 year old single malt whisky.

Crazy Mountain from Colorado

Crazy Mountain Hookiebobb IPA....$8.99 / 6pk CANS
In the 1960s, before Vail Village was paved and closed to vehicles, "hookiebobbing" referred to those committed fools who, while on skis, grabbed onto the bumper of passing cars to tow them up to the lifts. Our IPA is a Colorado approach to the American take of an English classic. Three aggressive yet floral American hops and one hop from Down Under team together to make a bright, citrusy and floral India Pale Ale. A deep caramel malt helps to balance the bitterness of the hops and lets the complex hop bill shine.
Food Pairings:
Gorgonzola cheese, chicken tikka masala or curry, ginger spice cake
ABV:6.7%
IBU:87
Hops: ElDorado, Amarillo, Centennial,Galaxy

Crazy Mountain Lava Lake Wit...$8.49 / 6pk
Lava Lake is a hidden little gem off of Highway 131 on the drive to Steamboat Springs from Vail. This idyllic swimming hole is the first place Doobie, the chocolate brewery labrador, learned how to swim. This Ale is our take on a classic Belgian Wit Beer. To make this beer unique, we add un-malted wheat, rolled oats, two varieties of classic European hops, chamomile, curacao orange peel, coriander, grains of paradise, and a rare yeast strain from the Old Country. This is a beer that can be enjoyed year-round, whether on the slopes on a beautiful bluebird day, or lazily fly fishing in Lava Lake.
Food Pairings: Marscarpone cheese, steamed mussels, panna cotta
ABV:5.2%
IBU:15
Hops: Kent Goldings, Saaz
Spices: Chamomile, Coriander, Grains of Paradise, Sweet Orange Peel

Crazy Mountain Mountain Livin' Pale Ale...$8.49 / 6pk
Our easy-drinking Pale Ale's namesake truly represents life in the mountains. The Colorado mountain lifestyle is laid back, fulfilled and relaxed. Just like the meadow scene on the can, nature is summer's backdrop for all outdoor fun: hiking, rafting, mountain biking and horseback riding. We utilize two types of American hops in such a way that we put the flavor of these hops center stage and let their bitterness fade into the background. The hop forward character of this beer is represented not in its bittering qualities, but in the unique, fruit forward flavor of two new and somewhat experimental American hop varieties. Enjoy this beer with a fresh approach to how a Pale Ale expresses its inner hoppiness.
Food Pairings:
Aged white cheddar cheese, a big juicy burger, bananas foster

ABV:6.0%
IBU:40
Hops:ElDorado,Citra

Jack Daniels NEW BARREL PROOF

Jack Daniels Single Barrel "Barrel Proof"...$59.99
JACK DANIEL’S UNVEILS FIRST CASK STRENGTH WHISKEY
16th July, 2015 by Melita Kiely
Jack Daniel’s is launching its very first cask strength Tennessee whiskey as part of its Single Barrel Collection – Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof.
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof whiskey is set to launch in the US from August
Scheduled for a nationwide launch in the US this August, Barrel Proof ranges from 62.5% abv to 70% abv and joins the collection’s existing expression, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select.  Barrel Proof is made using cave spring water from the Jack Daniel’s Hollow, proprietary yeast and a charcoal-mellowing process – the same one adopted for the distillery’s original 150-year-old Tennessee whiskey recipe.

The whiskey is aged in white American oak barrels in the upper sectors of the barrelhouse in order to expose it to the extreme weather fluctuations in Lynchburg.  “As master distiller at Jack Daniel’s, I get the privilege of travelling to the top floors of our barrelhouses in Lynchburg and hand drilling individual barrels,” explained Jeff Arnett, Jack Daniel’s master distiller.  “I’m always amazed at the intensity of the aromas and the deep amber colours, and yet at the same time, the exceptional smoothness of the whiskey at this higher proof point.   “After years of thinking about and discussing a barrel proof offering from Jack Daniel’s, we believe that now is the perfect time to make this available to all of our friends around the world.  “I’m confident that everyone will be as impressed as I was the first time I tasted this unique form of Single Barrel whiskey.”

Although each barrel differs slightly, the range is said to have flavours of sweet vanilla and toasted oak that give a “great intensity and complexity” but with an “exceptionally smooth finish”.

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof will carry an RRP of US$65 per 750ml.

Fantome - limited releases

We have not seen this one in years!  Since 2009 to be exact!
Fantome Pissenlit (Dandelion)...$12.99 / 750ml
“This is %*&@# great! Is it really made with dandelions?” -- A typical consumer.
Dany, the offbeat brewer at Fantôme, will try anything, and the results are always interesting. A beer made from dandelions would be worth a try if only because no one has ever brewed one before, but the great news is that this is actually a very good beer.
Dany and some cohorts get busy every spring picking bushels of dandelions that grow in the fields around the picturesque farmhouse brewery. The yellow flowers are removed and dried in the sun, then soaked in water for a few days. The thick, dark dandelion “tea” that results is the basis for the Pissenlit, which is made also from traditional barley malt and hops. It resembles a classic saison beer – golden spritzy brew, strong and very flavorful, with a good hop bite. You may have to strain to taste the dandelions, but you know they’re in there.
“Pissenlit” is the French word for dandelion. Literally, it means “pee in bed,” which we guess describes the physical effect the flower has on French-speaking persons. We are happy to report, however, that we haven’t had any problems with incontinence after downing a bottle of this beer." -- importer

Fantome Collaboration DMD....$14.99 / 750ml
Cascadian Dark Ale in Collaboration with Dany of Fantome, Mathieu of Birrificio Math of Italy and Didier from Brasserie du Flo (Belgium). Brewed at Fantome

Fantome Saison....$12.99 / 750ml (SOLD OUT)
"Fruity, complex saison beer from the Ardennes forest from a tiny farmhouse brewery very hard to find even in Belgium.
8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. “Absolutely gorgeous, complex summer refresher with enough interest to drink all year-round.” (The Beers of Wallonia). Both authors give this beer a perfect 10. We would not give it a 10 (even if we knew what that meant) but there are drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly, no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere.
How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness." -- importer

Mikkeller Arh Hvad?!.....$11.99 / 750ml
Rated 96/100 RateBeer
Ratred 99/100 RateBeer in its style

“SAY WHAT?”
“Say What?” That’s what it means.

Årh Hvad?! is Danish for “Say What?“ However, when pronounced in proper Danish, it also sounds a lot like the word “Orval”, a Trappist brewery I’m sure you guys have heard of.

Årh Hvad?! is Mikkeller’s interpretation of Orval, one of Mikkel’s favorite beers. The color is a cloudy amber and has a white head. The taste is peppery, malty with a hoppy finish. It is hopped four times with Styrian Goldings hops. The fermentation is done with two yeast strains, one of which is brettanomyces,

Dieu du Ciel new Disco Soleil plus more Peche Mortel and Aphrodite

Dieu du Ciel! Disco Soleil....$3.99 / 11.2 oz
Kumquat IPA
"Disco Soleil is a golden-orange IPA with evocative citrus and tropical fruit aromas. The lively hops and gentle malt flavours are balanced in pleasing equilibrium, while the kumquat zest adds some lively acidity for a birsk finish.

Dieu du Ciel Peche Mortel...$4.49 / 11.2oz
Rated 100/100 RateBeer
"If you love really good coffee and really good beer equally, you will be thrilled with Péché Mortel. If coffee isn’t your cup of tea, and caffeine makes you bounce off the ceiling, then just put the bottle down and find something else to drink. This beer is all about coffee. Indeed, you may have seen ‘coffee stouts’ before, but no brewer has ever married coffee and beer so naturally and seamlessly.
And this isn’t just any stout, but an imperial stout, which means that it is modeled on the strong, rich, and very complex stouts that were made in England in the 19th and early 20th centuries exclusively for shipment to Russia, where they were a special favorite at the court of the Czars.
A warning: Between the caffeine buzz, and the 9% alcohol by volume of this singular brew, you may find yourself a little disoriented. What is this, a morning pick-me-up and a drowsy night-cap, all in the same bottle? It’s just too much pleasure all at once, and that’s why the brewers named it Péché Mortel, which is French for 'Mortal Sin.' Unfortunately, we can’t say that it’s good for you. In fact, it’s a sure thing you’re going to Hell for this . . ." -- brewery

Dieu du Ciel Aphrodite...$4.49 / 11.2oz

Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Pretty Things new release

Pretty Things Field Mouse’s Farewell...$7.49 / 22oz
Farmhouse Ale
Hop Variety: Strisselspalt, Bramling Cross
Malt Variety: Pils, Rye, Oats, Wheat, Sorghum, Spelt, Buckwheat
ABV: 7.0%
IBUs: 38
Color: Fieldmouse Amber
Fieldmouse’s Farewell is our Harvest-time seasonal beer. A saison that is slightly sweeter, slightly more full-bodied and golden than Jack D’Or, and therefore might be slightly more approachable, depending on your taste for hops (fewer bittering hops in this beer). The hops are wonderful, old-world French hops from Alsace. We happened upon them, along with their representatives, at the Craft Brewers’ Conference and we were immediately smitten.

Early Fall: the fruit and grains are ripe and nature’s work is almost done. It’s time to think of moving on… which is exactly what this little mouse is planning on doing, so find him while you can. You might notice that Field mouse has moved from Springtime to Harvest-time, because it seems like our mouse would be more likely to up-sticks at this time of year, with the fields becoming empty. Perhaps he is following the sun… Cheers to you all, hope summer was great and busy and that Fall will be peaceful and fruitful.

Fresh Batch is here!
Pretty Things Meadowlark IPA....$7.49 / 22oz

Rated 98/100 RateBeer
Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!
