Usquaebach Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Cask Strength

Usquaebach Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Cask Strength...$174.99

New --
2016 release
57.1% ABV

"Usquaebach Scotch Whisky, (pronounced “oos-ke-bah”) an artisinally crafted, hand-blended Highlands Scotch imported by family-owned Cobalt Brands, announces the release of its first new blend in nearly 25 years, the Usquaebach An Ard Ri Cask Strength. Translated from Gaelic as “the high king,” the An Ard Ri is an ultra-premium, high-proof blend of more than 20 single malt casks, aged between 10 and 21 years.

Carefully crafted by longstanding Usquaebach blenders, Hunter Laing and Co., the An Ard Ri is made with casks from Master Blender Stewart H. Laing’s personal collection. Mr. Laing selected from a range of Highlands whiskies, including Inchgower, Benrinnes, Craigellachie, Glengoyne, Dailuaine, Blair Athol, and Auchroisk. At 57.1% ABV, the finished product is a powerfully complex and structured, yet harmoniously smooth cask strength blend that faithfully maintains Usquaebach’s position as “King of the Blended Whiskies.” On the nose, the An Ard Ri exhibits marzipan, brioche, and burnt orange peel, followed by notes of honey, leather, dried fruits, and brown sugar on the palate.

The 2,000 bottle limited release is packaged in a striking gold and blue variation of Usquaebach’s signature flagon bottle, keeping with the product’s theme of bringing ancient tradition to a modern audience" -- PRWeb

Kamen Cabernet Sauvignon Estate - 96+ from Parker

2014 Kamen Cabernet Sauvignon Estate....$93.99
The biggest cuvĂ©e that Herold makes for Robert Kamen is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, at 2,100 cases, from a vineyard dominated by the volcanic basalt elevation between 1,100 and 1,500 feet. It sits above the iconic Monte Rosso Vineyard, owned by Gallo. Blueberry and blackberry fruit, forest floor, dusty/loamy notes, roasted herbs and meats all jump from the glass of this opaque purple wine. It’s dense, rich and built for long-term cellaring, this wine can be approached now because it is a 2014, but likely will evolve for 25-30 or more years.

New Crane Brewing releases

Crane Brewing Tea Weiss....$9.99 / 750ml
4.1% ABV
A distinctly American take on an old-world German ale, Tea Weiss combines Kansas City’s own Hugo Berry Rooibos Tea with a spritzy, sour wheat beer to exceedingly refreshing effect.

Crane Brewing Gooseberry Gose...$9.99 / 750ml
English folklore speaks of a fairy, the Gooseberry Wife, who takes the shape of a hairy caterpillar and guards the tart fruit from the greedy hands of children. Not even a creepy caterpillar could keep us from adding this deliciously sour berry to our deliciously tart and salty gose. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep an eye out for her when picking up your bottle.

Crane Brewing Amber + Brett 4Ever...$11.99
It started with an innocent flirtation, but now it is totally serious.  Amber and Brett are the hottest couple in craft beer, and everybody knows it.  Amber was such a little goody-goody-two-shoes before, but brett is , like, this super wild rebel, who is always getting her into trouble.  Lucky for you Brett hast totally rubbed off on amber, and now she's a little wild too.

Crane Brewing Farmhouse IPA with BRETT...$9.99 / 750ml
(6.8% ABV)
We love the combination of juicy hops and the fruity esters and phenolics of Belgian yeast. Now we added Brettanomyces at the point of bottling to provide an extra layer of complexity and funk to our Farmhouse IPA. “Brett” is a formally wild yeast feared by brewers and vintners alike, but to some brewers Brett’s earthy and tangy flavors are as familiar and inviting as an old friend’s embrace. We hope you and Brett will be fast friends too.

Domaine Milan:   The wines of Henri Milan are among the favorites in the organic, and natural wine community in France (especially popular amongst the organic winemakers themselves) and we consider ourselves very fortunate to obtain his wines.

2014 Domaine Milan Le Grand Blanc Provence….$28.99
Le Grand Blanc is such a complex wine that one rarely tastes it the same way twice! We would recommend pouring this wine into a carafe before serving to allow it to express its full potential. Grenache Blanc, Rolle, Roussanne, Chardonnay, and Muscat Petit Grains
2011 Domaine Milan Le Vallon Rouge Provence….$21.99
"Le Vallon" can be drunk now or one could lay it down in the cellar for a few years. Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Mourvèdre
2007 Domaine Milan Clos Rouge Provence…$37.99
2007 was a beautiful year in Provence that bestowed upon this wine an exceptional richness, and maintains balanced freshness, tannins, and finesse. 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah

2016 La Vrille et Le Papillon Tour Cousins Ardeche….$12.99
Organic and natural wines of Ardèche
La Vrille et Le Papillon:  Ardèche is one of France's lesser-known regions, situated west of the RhĂ´ne River and north of Provence. Some exciting winemakers are working here, and Meryl and Geraldine Croizier of "La Vrille et le Papillon" can certainly be counted among them.  This 100 % Syrah is lighter and more versatile than most Syrahs found abroad, and can be paired with lighter fare (charcuterie) or with a meal featuring red meat.  A great wine to share with friends outside by the barbecue!
2014 La Vrille et Le Papillon La Tribu Ardeche….$14.99
Organic and natural wines of Ardèche
Ardèche is one of France's lesser-known regions, situated west of the Rhône River and north of Provence. Some exciting winemakers are working here, and Méryl and Géraldine Croizier of "La Vrille et le Papillon" can certainly be counted among them. This 100 % Grenache is very easy to drink and well balanced. This wine can be drunk on its own with friends or goes well with lighter grilled meat such as pork and poultry.

"Small yield, organic farming. yeast, no sulphites, the farms are made without sulfur either. The aim is to obtain wines that are more digestible, light and live, all to respect my environment, as well as the consumer. With this approach, I feel more artisan of the wine than farmer. " -- Sylvere Trichard, Selene Beaujolais
2016 Selene Leon Vin de France Rouge….$19.99
The wines made by Sylvère embody the reason why Beaujolais has become one of the most exciting wine regions in France! This wine is coming from Sylvère's oldest vines, which possess a limestone, clay, and granite terroir. The wine takes on Pinot Noir like characteristics, reminiscent of their Burgundian neighbors to the north.. The oak is very subtle. This wine is best suited for a meal rather than an apéritif or just having on its own. Can be drunk now or held for a few years. 100% Gamay.
2016 Selene Beaujolais Villages….$18.99
The wines made by Sylvère embody the reason why Beaujolais has become one of the most exciting wine regions in France! This is a wine that can be drunk immediately, but could also be kept in the wine cellar for a year or two. With its smooth character and easy drinkability, this is the perfect wine to share with friends. Due to a vein of granite that passes underneath this plot of vines, there is mineral finish to this vine that gives it a character that is more reminiscent of the grand cru wines of Beaujolais.100% Gamay.

Grower Champagne

Franck Pascal Reliance Champagne NV….$49.99
RĂ©liance NV Brut Nature: Isabelle and Franck Pascal are so adamant about the quality of their biodynamically grown grapes, that they will sell all of the grapes that border other vineyards that may have been treated with pesticides so that it does not contaminate their wines! They found that Biodynamic farming allowed their wine to truly express the character of their terroir. The wines of Franck Pascal are among the more sought after "Grower Champagnes" and we are happy to be able to offer some of his Champagne for you! 70% Pinot Meunier, 25% Pinot Noir, 5% Chardonnay
2010 Franck Pascal Harmonie Champagne Blanc de Noirs….$75.99
Harmonie 2010 Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut: Isabelle and Franck Pascal are so adamant about the quality of their biodynamically grown grapes, that they will sell all of the grapes that border other vineyards that may have been treated with pesticides so that it does not contaminate their wines! This 2010 Vintage Grower Champagne is a "Blanc de Noirs", which is a blend consisting of only Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The two grapes are harvested at separate times for this wine to ensure that each grape is picked at the optimal moment. Save this wine for a special occasion!

2015 Come Isambert Chenin Blanc Saumur Blanc…$17.99
Certified organic by Bureau Veritas (FR-BIO-10)
CĂ´me Isambert: CĂ´me's Chenin Blanc presents a beautiful balance of acidity, freshness, and with a nose of lemon, tropical fruits, peaches, and reine claude plums. Willy and Paul are fast becoming two of the most exciting winemakers in Burgundy! Both are natives of Roussillon. Willy worked previously at Domaine de Montille in Puligny-Montrachet and was the head winemaker at Clos de Moulin aux Moines in Auxey-Durresses, while Paul worked previously at Oronce de Beler in Vosne-RomanĂ©e and also at Domaine Hauvette in Saint RĂ©my de Provence. They are nĂ©gociants who only work with organic producers in their region. There are no additives used in the winemaking process, nothing artificial, and in some cases, no sulfites added during the winemaking process.

Firestone Walker Mocha Merlin...$9.99 / 6pk
With an infusion of local roast coffee, a dash of cocoa nibs and touch of seasonal sorcery, our signature Velvet Merlin oatmeal stout has been transformed into Mocha Merlin for fall and winter enjoyment. This beer is brewed with the Colombia La Granadilla blend from our friends and neighbors at HoneyCo Coffee Roasters. The Colombia La Granadilla coffee meshes perfectly with the chocolaty character from the cocoa nibs, providing an oatmeal stout experience like no other. A touch of lactose "milk sugar" provides suggestion of rounded sweetness on the finish.

Booth's Sherry Cask Mellowed Gin!!

Huge sale - We got in 60 bottles at this price!!!
Booth's Finest Dry Gin Sherry Cask Mellowed....$24.99
Was $42.99
Lowest price in the country on Wine-Searcher!!

"The first edition The Savoy Cocktail book published in 1930 features an advertisement for a “barrel-aged gin”. Perhaps the most revered of all aged gins, Booth’s Finest Dry Gin, is sadly no longer made [they have now brought it back]. This was aged in ex-sherry butts at a time when sherry was still imported in butts with large numbers of casks arriving in London, the centre of gin production. The sherry oak gave the gin a distinctive flavour and pale golden colour." - from Citadelle Gin's Website

New Ridge Releases!

Ridge Fall Release:
We look forward to the Fall Ridge release every year along along with our long time favorites Ridge Lytton Springs and Lytton Estate Petit Sirah we also get the new vintage of Ridge Montello.

2015 Ridge Lytton Estate Petite Sirah...$35.99
The 2015 Petite Sirah Lytton Estate is all class. There is plenty of depth to the inky blue and purplish Petite fruit, while the tannins are remarkably polished for a young Dry Creek Petite. Hints of lavender, tobacco, mint, smoke and crème de cassis develop in the glass, adding further shades of complexity. This clay-rich site seems to be especially well suited to Petite. Whole berry fermentation and gentle extractions yield and especially refined Petite. The 2015 is another drop-dead gorgeous wine from Ridge.

2015 Ridge Lytton Springs....$39.99 / 750ml

2015 Ridge Lytton Springs....$79.99 Magnum
2015 Ridge Lytton Springs....$199.99 3 Liter
The 2015 Lytton Springs is very, very closed. Readers should not think about opening a bottle anytime soon. Intensely aromatic, but also tightly wound, the 2015 only hints at its true potential. Deceptively medium in body, the 2015 packs a real punch.
Rated 94+/100  Vinous Media

2014 Ridge Monte Bello....$193.99 (Limited Quantity)
The come in 3 bottle wood casesThe 2014 Monte Bello is going to need at least a decade to show everything it has. Deceptively medium in body and super-classic in its mid-weight structure, the 2014 offers notable brightness and intensity in an understated style, even by Ridge standards. Today, the 2014 is intensely linear, focused and vibrant. Petit Verdot is the variety that suffered most in the drought, so its presence in the blend is minimal.

2015 Comte Vogue Release

2015 Comte Vogue Release
We cannot say enough about the brilliance of the 2015 Vintage in Burgundy, particularily the Cote de Nuits Reds. While the quantities are of course tiny, the quality is off the charts.

You know when  it is in wood, it has to be good!!

2015 Comte de Vogue Musigny VV....$669.99
The 2015 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru is initially more introspective compared to the Bonnes-Mares. Predominantly black fruit here with blueberry developing in the glass, there is a slight earthiness in character that shimmies towards floral scents as it opens. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin and more salinity than then Bonnes Mares or the Chambolle-Musigny les Amoureuses. It feels crunchy and fresh in the mouth with plenty of blueberry and blackberry towards the long and persistent finish. This is an outstanding Musigny Vieilles Vignes of substance that will age over 30-40 years.

Rated 95-97/100 Vinous

2015 Comte de Vogue Bonnes-Mares....$533.99
Full ruby-red. Intense aromas of blueberry liqueur and chocolate mint; this smells thick and deep in a way that reminded me of the estate's 1990 version at the same stage. Densely packed and very ripe, with a chocolatey quality leavened by strong acidity and complex menthol and herb terroir nuances. Conveys a strong impression of sucrosité without loss of freshness. The big, tongue-coating tannins arrive late, allowing the blueberry and blackberry fruit to mount on the aftertaste.

Rated 92-94/100 Burghound

2015 Comte de Vogue Chambolle-Musigny....$169.99
The 2015 Chambolle Musigny Village has a clean, pure and fragrant bouquet with hints of iodine tinging the red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is fresh and ripe on the entry with a touch more black fruit than red, a "solid" Chambolle in terms of density with a gentle grip on the finish. It needs more time in barrel and bottle to evolve its personality, but the key components are here.

Rated 88-90/100 Vinous
Rated 89-91/100 Burghound

2015 Comte de Vogue Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru....$266.99
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has a more floral bouquet compared to the village cru, here the fruit leaning more towards the red side of the spectrum, beautifully defined and showing impressively. The palate is silky smooth on the entry with fine tannin, quite vivid in the mouth with that blood orange note mixed with spice towards the energetic finish. At this stage, there appears to be considerable distance between the village and premier crus, and it will be interesting to see if this remains after bottling.

Albert Le Coq - Estonia

We have been able to get this one for awhile, it is brewed by Harvey & Son in England under the supervision of the board of trustees of  A. Le Coq and Tartu Brewery, Estonia.
Albert Le Coq Imperial Extra Double Stout...$6.99  / 9.3oz
ABV: 9%
A. Le Coq & Co was founded in 1807 and at the start of the 20th century production was brought from London to Tartu, where the brewing of A. Le Coq Extra Double Stout began. This was a beer that in 1912 brought A. Le Coq the title of official court supplier to the Russian throne and was allegedly the favourite beer of Nicholas II of Russia. The tsar enjoyed eating oysters, which were served with a vinaigrette sauce made from Imperial Extra Double Stout.

This is the first time we have been able to get their other beers from their Estonian brewery.

Albert Le Coq Imperial Ale....$2.69 / 400ml
Rich top-fermented ale
ABV: 5.0%
A. Le Coq& Co was established in 1807. Production was moved from London to Tartu at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1912 A. Le Coq was chosen as the official supplier of the Russian emperor’s court and Imperial Extra Double Stout, which was brewed in Tartu, became available throughout the empire.
Imperial Ale is a top-fermented beer with a rich flavour bouquet. There is a perfect balance between the delicious bitter taste of hops and the sweetness of malt. The copper colour that characterises the best ales adds a respectability indicative of its imperial past.

Albert Le Coq Imperial Gold....$2.69 / 400ml

Imperial Gold is a premium lager with a rich and full-bodied taste. The valuable malt used in the beer, which comes from Scotland, gives it a deep golden colour and thick head. The taste and appearance of Imperial Gold are as worthy of the attention of crowned heads today as they ever were.

Albert Le Coq Premium....$2.69 / 500ml
Pale lager
ABV: 4.7%
A. Le Coq Premium is a light yellow premium beer with dense bubbles. Its sweetish character is well balanced with the fresh bitterness of hops. Nuances of hops and bread can also be felt in the aroma of A. Le Coq Premium.

Caledonia Spirits Barr Hill

"Our craft distillery is located in Caledonia County, Vermont and inspired by the views from atop the Barr Hill Nature Preserve. Caledonia Spirits was founded on a vision to support working landscapes and local agriculture by making Barr Hill craft spirits from regional raw materials."

Caledonia Spirits Barr Hill Gin...$37.99
Barr Hill Gin is our ode to the hardworking bees of the Northeast. Each batch is distilled in our custom-built botanical extraction still. The juniper-forward botanicals are brought to a perfect balance by the floral depth of the raw honey. The results are distinctive and unparalleled. How do we extract such complexity from simple raw materials? Our secrets are kept in the hive.

Caledonia Spirits Barr Hill Tom Cat Reserve Gin...$44.99
Tom Cat Gin is an expedition into uncharted territories. Once distilled, we age the gin in new American oak barrels in search of a bolder expression. The robust character of the new oak barrel mingles with the coniferous quality of the juniper, yielding an enticing aroma. A touch of raw honey leaves this revolutionary spirit remarkably approachable, whether drinking neat or in a cocktail. When the world called for whiskey, we answered resolutely with gin.

Caledonia Spirits Barr Hill Vodka....$44.99
Barr Hill Vodka is our tribute to the hardworking beekeepers. In late summer, we take delivery of hundreds of barrels of their pure raw honey. Their season’s work is what makes our vodka truly special. Our recipe depends on two simple principles: we never heat the honey prior to fermentation and we never distill more than twice. Our technique preserves the wild yeast and the rich aromatics of nectar - delivering the floral depth of wildflower fields straight to your glass.

Absolutely to drink...and hold for years to come.
2001 Vinha do Fojo Douro Red....$54.99
The 2001 Vinha Do Fojo (Quinta Do Fojo) is an old vines field blend aged for 12 months in French oak (60% new, the rest used). Of the Vinha do Fojos here this issue, this is arguably the best and the best balanced, although the 1996 is drinking much better now. That said, this is still a powerhouse in an old school style. One of the problems in evaluating these (especially when young) is that the tannins can be hard and overwhelm the wine. I took a cautious approach and was too stingy initially. This time it also had a couple of days open, which helped. In most ways, it is still too young, not nearly as interesting as the 1996 (although it one day will be and will likely be better). It shows fine acidity and lush texture, the best concentration and the freshest fruit in the vertical to go with the big tannins typical of the brand. Even now, it adds wonderful complexity. It is intriguing and intellectual. If you're looking for hedonistic, though, this probably isn't it. Focused, penetrating and powerful, it needs a food pairing to sing. It should have a long life ahead and it is still improving. It may well do better than I think. To my pleasant surprise, the standard retail price I was given was a mere $60. Back up the truck. This is fine enough that it makes a mockery out of the supposed classification difference between Fojo and Vinha do Fojo. There were 21,000 bottles produced.

2016 Escudo Real Vinho Verde...$8.99
Grapes: Loureiro (30%) Trajadura (30%) and Arinto (40%).
With a little sparkle, this Vinho Verde is light and fresh. The wine has a definite pétillance.
Produced by the recognized winemaker, Carlos Teixeira (Quinta da Lixa), the Escudo Real selections are both fun and gourmand. Escudo Real WHITE is bright and citrusy, due to its natural acidity. With dominant apple and grapefruit aromas and a splash of green, herby notes, Escudo Real brings the fun and the flavor. Produced with Arinto, Trajadura & Loureiro grape varieties and at 9.5% alcohol, this baby is ripe for the picking.
Vinho Verde, lighter and more refreshing, is gaining in popularity all over the world. The Trajadura and Arinto varieties give it body and length, as well as aromas of apple and grapefruit. The Loureiro variety confers it a floral and aromatic herbal expression, bringing a lively, fresh character, with a slight touch of sparkle. Young and delicate, it should be served with fish, seafood and white meat dishes.

2016 Escudo Real Vinho Verde Rose...$8.99

Escudo Real ROSE is all about the strawberry and red currants. The amazing pink color gives way to well-balanced flavors in the mouth that do super well with food. At 10.5% alcohol, this fresh fruity, slightly sparkly rose is a sunny-time must.   Pink color and lively strawberry and red currant flavor complemented with floral hints reveal the exuberance of the aroma. In the mouth it’s well balanced with good acidity and tart fresh fruit notes, young and crisp. It boasts a smooth, delicate finish.

2009 Quinta de Lemos Dao Dona Georgina...$49.99
The 2009 Dona Georgina is revisited for a checkup and it is nice to say it keeps improving. Big, full and fleshier than its 2008 predecessor reviewed in the past--both creatures of their vintages--this is one of the lusher and richer wines the winery has produced at its young age. Sexy but well balanced, this is the crowd-pleaser, but there is also good structure. It is aging well and should continue to do so for the next decade or more.
Rated 93/100 The Wine Advocate
A blend of Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, both originally from the DĂŁo region, this sophisticated, rich wine is firmly structured. The granite soils bring out a strong mineral texture that is balanced by opulent black fruits. This is a powerful wine, dense and still developing. Drink from 2016.

Quinta do Popa Douro "Popa TN" Touriga Nacional....$22.99
Created from a single grape variety, Portugal’s most noble Touriga Nacional, PĂ´pa TN shows off a more modern side of pure Douro. Full‐bodied and super smooth, the tannins have become softened by oak and by time to deliver a compote‐like concoction, dripping with pruny notes that give way to a surprising floral finish.
Oak treatment: 6 months in new french oak
Sitting alongside one of the most privileged locations on the Douro River, Quinta do PĂ´pa creates exquisite wines with national grape varieties. Born from nature and tradition, from the harmonious wedding between soil, climate, and the art of man, these noble yet global wines will surprise the palate one sip at a time.

2015 Regueiro Alvarinho/Trajudura White....$13.99
The 2015 Alvarinho / Trajadura is a 30/70 blend, dry, unoaked and without added carbonation. The sharp edge here gives this a wave of summer freshness, but the purity of its fruit is pretty nice, too. This has more than reasonable concentration for the level and its clean, somewhat stony finish makes it a bargain-priced winner.
Rated 89/100 The Wine Advocate

Recognized as one the foremost producers of boutique vinho verde in Portugal, Quinta do Regueiro is fast becoming synonymous with top shelf avant garde white wines, with a distinct focus on the Alvarinho grape.

2013 Casal do Ramillo Red...$12.99

A perfectly bundled duo. With the succulent floral aromas of the Touriga Nacional and the elegance of Aragonez, this young and fresh Lisbon creation showcases the best of this old region with a twist.
The grapes are all hand picked and sorted for perfect ripeness.   The wine has a very deep color.  The floral aromas of the Touriga Nacional variety combine perfectly with the elegance of Arogonez.  It has a super long and complex finish.   Perfect with cheese.
More info:
Since 1937, the Ramilo family has been producing wines in one of the most privileged locations in the Lisbon region. Between Colares and Mafra, these Atlantic wines are created where the influence of the sea, combined with the influence of the hills develop a unique micro‐climate. This temperate climate paired with the rocky soils of the region, enables the creation of unique wines, both fresh and balanced.

1969 Viuva Gomes Collares Reserva Tinto...$169.99

The red grape in Colares is called Ramisco--Ramisco is grown nowhere else.Old yet still fresh. This pearl of Colares has gained an onion skin color, although it has maintained a pleasant lucidity with aromatic notes of raisin cherry and damp earth. In the mouth this wine has a light structure, with a memory of where Ramisco’s deep tannins used to be, marked along with some acidity due to the ocean’s winds, leading to salty finish.
On the coast, northwest of Lisbon, there is a small D.O.C. (Denominação de Origem Controlada) called Colares. It is one of Portugal’s most ancient areas and it is entirely planted on sand. When phylloxera destroyed most of Europe’s vines in the 19th century, it didn’t destroy Colares. Their vines are all original, ungrafted, and, for the most part, very old.
Colares is also one of the most endangered wine regions in the world. It has become the go-to vacation spot for affluent Lisboans so the land has become much more valuable as beachfront property than vineyard land. There are only 23 hectares left. The production of wines allowed to use the Colares designation is around 4,500 bottles… quite a change from a century ago when there were thousands of hectares of vines and, as one of the only regions left with vineyards, their reputation soared. They were called “The Bordeaux of Portugal” and experienced a brief, yet intense, international flowering of interest but as Europe’s vineyards came back on line and Portugal descended into a nearly eighty years of strife, civil war, and dictatorship, the fortunes of Colares faded.
The red grape in Colares is called Ramisco, the white is Malvasia. Ramisco is grown nowhere else, and same goes for this breed of Malvasia (although we find its cousin in the Douro and other parts of Portugal).
