Imperial stout with Mackinac Fudge Coffee, Maple Syrup and Chocolate aged in Bourbon Barrels
ABV: 11%
Michigan didn’t invent old-fashioned fudge, but it was perfected here. We pay tribute to this time-honored tradition with KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge. By amplifying the rich chocolate notes of KBS using Mackinac Fudge coffee, then adding maple syrup and aging it in oak bourbon barrels, we’ve created a bold new take on our barrel-aged classic – one that could only have originated in Michigan.

2019 Hess Collection Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

Classic Mount Veeder!
2019 Hess Collection Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon...$65.99
Estate Grown
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot
A very soft and friendly red with plum and blackberry character. Medium body with medium firm tannins and a delicious finish.
Rated 92/100 James Suckling
The 2019 estate-grown Cabernet provides an exemplary expression of the sophistication, complexity, and structure that we’ve come to expect from their mountain fruit. The Cabernet Sauvignon produces aromas of ripe, wild, mountain raspberry, along with gentle notes of vanilla caramel. The subtle touch of Malbec adds a soft, mouth-filling texture on the palate. Enticing flavors of dark plum, licorice, cocoa and vanilla oak spice unite to create a supple wine that lingers for a pleasing finish - winery

2018 Col Solare Cabernet Sauvignon

Amazing Cabernet from Washington State's Red Mountain AVA
2018 Col Solare Cabernet Sauvignon....$64.99
Compare to $74.99 at Total Wine and More

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc) reveals a vivid purple/ruby color to go with a young, unevolved bouquet of pure cassis, spicy oak, chocolate, and tobacco. Full-bodied on the palate, it has remarkable tannins, a great mid-palate, and a rare mix of richness and elegance. It needs 4-5 years of bottle age to develop additional complexity, but it has incredible potential and is one head-turning Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
Rated 96/100 Jeb Dunnuck
Deep ruby colored at its core, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses all of the great expressions worthy of representing Col Solare. Dusty notions of sticky, resinous flowers, crème de cassis, redcurrants, dark plum skin, black raspberry and bitter dark chocolate sway with elements of juicy tobacco and luxurious baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, the wine offers impeccable balance with an elongated palate with flavors of blackberry skin, black cherry and dusty roses, fine-grained tannins and succulent acidity. The wine concludes with a long, complex finish that will have no problem lasting for 20 years.

Pritchard Hill Wine!

They sell most of their wine via their mailing list, we are one of the few places in the country to get their wines.  We are the only place in the U.S. that list this wine on Wine-Searcher!
2019 Juicy Rebound Haute Montagne Cabernet Sauvignon...$74.99
only 175 cases produced
Pritchard Hill
High in the prime mountain vineyards, above Lake Hennessy in Napa Valley, at an altitude 1400’,we found an exceptional source for our 2019 Haute Montagne cabernet. This is Cabernet for Cabernet lovers; with power, depth, and definition to spare. The 2019 vintage was near-perfect growing conditions in Napa Valley, even though the Kincaid fire in Sonoma County threatened as Napa’s cabernet harvest came to a close at the end of October. Generous, even weather gave reduced yields and created wines of optimal ripness, great concentration, juicy acidity, and fine tannic structure. Add a first-class mountain vineyard to this equation and the resulting wine has potential for greatness. The caliber of the vineyard is illustrated by the substance and distinction of this wine. Finely structured black fruit; blackberry, cassis, plum and violets with aromas and flavors which unfold in the glass, hint at the potential for aging and the rewards for doing so. Here we find classical winemaking, French oak barrels, in the tradition of Bordeaux, but with the voice of California. This wine speaks to balance, structure, fine texture, freshness and complex flavors. Rather than demanding your attention, it invites you to enjoy and explore.

Pritchard Hill is very special
Chappellet winery has a trademark on the name “Pritchard Hill” that is why you do not see it on more labels even though it is considered the "First Growth" of Napa.   These amazing wines come from Pritchard Hill: Colgin, Bryant Family, Brand, Tor, and Continuum to name a few of the greats.  They sell for $300-$1000 per bottle!!  This wine is a steal!

Saturday Wine Tasting at All 5 Locations!

TASTING! ALL 5 LOCATIONS!
Saturday September 17th from 11am-2pm

Come try these wines...

2019 Domaine de la Combe Muscadet...$18.99 / 750ml
Sur Lie
100% Melon de Bourgogne
The Vineyard is located in the "lieux dit » La Pétière in Saint-Fiacre distinguished by its particular topography named « Combe » which is a sort of valley. Today Pierre Henry Gadais is the only wine grower to own this terroir. For this reason, it is considered a Monopole. In addition, « La Pétière », located nearby, used to be a pre-historic village. With a total of 9 hectares, planted with Melon de Bourgogne, the vineyard is one of the last to exclusively produce Muscadet. Pierre Henry has always believed in the Melon but also in the traditions. For him, the new generation is changing the variety and by doing so, losing the appellation. Pierre Henry does not want Muscadet to become a new world wine region.
2020 Domaine Coutinel Braucol...$19.99 / 750ml
Anne Arbcau and her brother, Gérard, manage this family estate based in Labastide-St Pierre, and produce a range of wines including this Braucol-replete with bright plum-skin flavors and ripe tannins. Initially powered by its acidity, a dexterous transfer to the tannins manages the weight of the fruit.

2021 Quinta do RegueiroTrajadura Alvarinho...$13.99 / 750ml
70% Trajadura and 30% Alvarinho
Intensely mineral profile, with floral and orange peel nuances. Reveals a great purity in the mouth, of refined but austere style, serious, strong, and very sophisticated.
Recognized as one the foremost producers of boutique vinho verde in Portugal, Quinta do Regueiro is fast becoming synonymous with top shelf avant garde white wines.
Since 1988, Quinta do Regueiro has been using old-school methods to produce some of the most prized Alvarinhos in Portugal. Having started with one single vineyard in the estate's "backyard," today, Quinta do Regueiro is producing approximately 40,000 bottles of Alvarinho (and blends). With a style recognized by few and admired by all, these wines are all about the details...these, begin in the vineyard.

Friday Night Open Housel tasting featuring Bozal Mezcal
This Friday, 9/16 from 4:30 to 6pm
At the (In)Famous Bar
Inside the Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton

Meet Mary Holiday from 3 Badge Imports!!!
She's here to pour some damn fine mezcals, answer questions and expound on everything
related to Mexico’s great spirit. Here’s what she’s pouring…

Bozal Ensamble.….$47.99

A light blend of Espandín, Barril and Mexicano magueys crafted into a lightly smoky, herbaceous and citrus-forward mezcal.

Bozal Tobala Reserva…$86.99
A small agave varietal, the Tobalá, a subspecies of the Potatorum Family of agave, has broad, spade-like leaves. The compact size of this agave yeilds limited quantities of mezcal and takes 12-15 years to reach full maturation. Known to many as the king agave, Tobalá can only grow from seed and is becoming increasingly rare. This agave offers intensely aromatic mezal with complex notes of tropical fruit.

Bozal Pechuga Sacrificio…79.99
An age-old tradition from mezcaleros, Pechuga is typically produced in small batches for personal consumption as a ceremonial and festive mezcal, taking place at year-end.
First the agave is crushed, baked in earthen pit ovens, fermented, and then distilled in a copper pot still. Before the third distillation, organic cooked chicken marinates with locally sourced fruits, chiles, citrus fruits, raisins, cinnamon and clove. After the chicken has fully marinated, the protein and spices are added into the third and final distillation. A ritual among the last four generations, the recipe has remained the same over the years to keep with the family tradition.

Bozal Cuishe Single Maguey
Rich tropical fruit on the palate that moves to sweet potato on the front followed by a dry smoky finish. One of the most physically distinct species of agave, the Cuishe, a subspecies of the Karwinskii Family of agave, grows vertically as a single stalk with its leaves spreading at the top. Due to its unusual structure, and the stalk containing the firmer piña material, the Cuishe can be difficult to harvest and to work with in general. This agave offers aromas full of tropical fruit with a dry piney and mineral finish.

Barrell Vantage Bourbon

Barrell Vantage Bourbon / $74.99
114.44 proof
Bourbon whiskey finished in Mizunara, French and toasted American oak
Distilled in Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky
Crafted and bottled in Kentucky
Vantage highlights the blending expertise that defines Barrell Craft Spirits and is an exciting step forward in our never-ending journey to take bourbon to new heights.

Our unique vantage point in the whiskey world, combined with a passion for experimentation and nuance, has inspired us to produce a blend with impeccable balance and depth of flavor. Barrell Vantage is the result of deliberately pairing specifically identified bourbons with carefully selected cooperage, giving rise to a final expression that focuses on the subtle flavors and their compounding profiles.

Vantage is a blend of straight bourbons finished in three distinct expressions of virgin oak: Mizunara, French, and toasted American oak casks. The result is a warm, elegant bourbon that highlights the many dimensions of oak.

The BCS team has drawn on years of experience with three-part barrel finishing, used previously in Armida, Dovetail, and Seagrass. With Vantage, those same techniques were applied to the oak itself, using different char levels, toast levels, and oak origins to create a multidimensional blend.

Each component whiskey in Vantage is finished separately, then systematically combined according to a blending process fueled in equal parts by a scientific approach, experience, creativity, and experimentation. This process focuses on the wood characteristics and the specific flavor contributions that each cask contributes to the blend. The result is a masterfully blended, perfectly balanced representation of the harmonious synergy between bourbon and barrel.

Achel is back

Brewed under the supervision of Westmalle
Back in stock for the first time in a few years

Achel 8° Blonde...$5.99 / 11.2oz
The nose of this refermented triple shows a very fine hoppyness, combined with sweet-malty and floral notes. In the mouth, the taste lives up to all the promises of the fragrance: after a sweet start, the flowers and hops appear; the full taste is followed by a long finish, in which the bitterness is tempered by velvety malt notes.

Achel 8° Bruin...$$5.99 / 11.2oz
A slightly sweet note stands out in the nose - the alcohol (8 vol.% Alc) is not strange - but this strong beer still comes across as fresh. The taste is full-bodied and pungent on the tongue. Slightly sweet (but not sticky), a hint of ripe fruit, but especially coffee bitters determine the character of this beer. The long finish is also dominated by this bitterness.

Achel no longer a Trappist beer, after last monks depart abbey
After the last monks left Achel Abbey earlier this year, the beers produced at Achel Brewery no longer bear the Trappist label.

In the beginning of January, there were 14 authentic Trappist beer brands. By the end of the month, the Trappist Belgium breweries were reduced by one.

Eight of the Trappist breweries are located in Austria, the UK, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and the United States. The remaining breweries were in Belgium: Westmalle, Westvleteren, Orval, Rochefort, Chimay, and the former Achel, which is now closed.
The Trappists, or Cistercians of the Strict Observance, observe the Rule of St. Benedict.
Prior to 1998, breweries with no affiliation to the religious order were producing beers labeled Trappist. In response the International Trappist Association was established to preserve the name of abbey beers.
In order for a beer to claim itself as Trappist, the ITA requires the beer to be brewed in the confines of a monastery, under the direction of the monks, and the production is limited to the costs of monastic preservation, including their pastoral work and providing sustenance for the monks. Achel Abbey was founded as a priory in 1846, as a daughter house of Westmalle Abbey. It became an abbey in 1871. It was disestablished in 2021, with its last monks going to Westmalle Abbey.
Achel’s beers had already been brewed under the supervision of monks from Westmalle for some time.
The abbot of Westmalle told VRT, a Flemish public broadcaster, that “The beer is still brewed under our supervision, so feel free to still call it Trappist. But we are no longer allowed to use the logo, because there is no longer a living community present in Achel.”

“The beer itself will not change its taste and production will not be compromised,” he added. “On the contrary. We are currently investing in a new, larger brewhouse. It will be brought into use in the spring.”
