2013 Faiveley

2013 Domaine Faiveley Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru "Les Ouvrées Rodin"...$799.99

Wonderfully scented, almost Musigny-like aromas of black cherry, licorice, violet and minerals. Boasts outstanding sappy energy and definition, with the dark berry flavors energized by piquant minerality and salty traces. These vines are actually on the Chambertin side of Clos de Bèze but the wine is less powerful than the estate's other Clos de Bèze, notes Hervet. The endless perfumed finish excites the taste buds. Just five barrels made.

2013 Domaine Faiveley Corton Clos Des Corton...$199.99

Dark red. Musky aromas of wild game and white pepper. Markedly less fruity than the top Côte de Nuits grand crus that preceded it, but boasts outstanding sappy energy and soil-driven salinity. Extremely closed today, with its tight tannic spine showing a slightly raw quality that will require long-term bottle aging.

2013 Domaine Faiveley Nuits St Georges Les St Georges...$152.99

2013 Domaine Faiveley Nuits St Georges Porrets St Georges...$89.99

As it virtually always is this is bigger, richer and more powerful with fine mid-palate concentration that helps to buffer the slightly firmer and more rustic tannins on the impressively complex and persistent finish. This is very Nuits in character and will need 10 to 12 years to arrive at its apogee.
Rated 90-92/100 Burghound

2013 Domaine Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin Clos Des Issarts...$107.99
Bright, deep red. Aromas of raspberry, wild rose, hawthorn, truffle and spices. Wonderfully light on its feet, with penetrating minerality and floral character currently overshadowing the underlying red berry flavors. This highly distinctive wine is intense, juicy and quite sophisticated, finishing with suave tannins and terrific grip.

2013 Orin Swift Limited releases

2013 Orin Swift Machete....$49.99
Another innovative and genius effort from Dave Phinney is his 2013 Proprietary Red Machete, which is a California red blend made from Petite Sirah, Syrah and Grenache. This wine is another that shows his tendency to produce wines of great intensity and personality. It is full-bodied and exuberant, with an inky purple color and a stunning nose of boysenberry, black cherry, chocolate and floral notes. Full-bodied, opulent and multilayered, this is another stunner that brilliantly conceals the ten months it spent in 40% new French oak, as well as its rather hefty alcohol. This is unbelievable wine and another great effort from a true, young, up-and-coming force in the world’s winedom.

Batch 007 is finally here!

Laphraoig 10 Year Cask Strength Batch 007...$51.99
Awarded Best Single Malt in the World in 2005 by Whisky Magazine, Original Cask Strength Laphroaig is bottled at natural distillery strength with all the depth of genuine taste and texture normally associated with sampling whisky at source.
We mature Laphroaig in seasoned oak barrels, charred before filling to impart a slight sweet vanilla nuttiness. Original Cask Strength Laphroaig is barrier-filtered only just, to remove the small char particles present. This means you will enjoy Laphroaig exactly as we made it. In extremes of temperature and when you add water it may appear a little cloudy - this is the natural condition of a malt of such a peaty pungence and uncompromising purity.
Adding a little water releases a rich aroma of peat smoke with some sweetness and strong hints of the sea.
Emphatic, full bodied and utterly unforgettable. Simply 'The Best'.

Stone Grainiac "Colon Blow"

Stochasticity™ Project Grainiac "Colon Blow"...$7.49 / 22oz
A dry-hopped multigrain masterpiece
This hoppy, deep amber-hued beer was created to shine a light on rare, unexplored grains seldom used in the brewing world. In addition to barley, wheat, rye and triticale, we added malted millet and malted buckwheat to bring the total unique grain count to nine. The earthy, nutty notes of granola found in this experimental multigrain malt bomb are complemented by the citrusy, piney flavors of four classic American hops. We dry-hopped the beer with Cascade and Centennial hops at the end, adding more citrus notes and rounding out the grain bill’s rich, bready character.
This beer had its share of controversy. If you’re wondering about its unusual label, the whole story is on The Stone Blog.

Dark Ale aged in Heaven Hill and Jim Beam Barrels
He'Brew Chanukah in Kentucky...$12.99 / 22oz
In early spring of 2015, we brewed a 50-barrel batch of Hanukkah, Chanukah Pass the Beer with 8 malts, 8 hops and 8% ABV. After fermentation we filled first use Heaven Hill and Jim Beam bourbon barrels to age the luscious dark ale. Eight months later, Chanukah in Kentucky was born. Chanukah in Kentucky pours dark chestnut in color with ruby highlights and a creamy beige head. The nose is big and slightly tart with a mix of toasted malt, dark chocolate, woody oak, and the noticeable aroma of barrel bourbon. The first taste is slightly sweet with notes of dark cherry and a confection of toffee, caramel, and hints of vanilla. As it warms, the bourbon character fades making the toffee, chocolate, sweet caramel, vanilla bean and woody oak become more pronounced. This rare and precious offering is smooth with medium body and a dry finish. Share a bottle with your favorite friends and family and delight in the warming of the season. "The Schneider brewery was established in 1872 when Georg Schneider purchased the right to brew wheat beer by King Ludwig II. Up to that point wheat beer could only be brewed by the Bavarian royal family in one of their "Weisses Brauhaus" (wheat beer brewpub). He purchased and brewed in the Weisses Brauhaus im Tal/Munich and the Weisses Brauhaus in Kelheim. This second brewery has been used to brew wheat beer since 1607 and is therefore the oldest continually operating Weisse Beer brewery in the world." -- Importer

BFM 2014 Bon Chien Magnums

2014 BFM Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien...$46.99 / 1.5ltr
"Boldly treading the boundary between port, wine and beer, l'Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien is a unique ale aged in wooden casks which have been used for several years before to age Merlot, Merlot Cabernet, Whisky and then Grappa. It manages to merge into L'Abbaye all the complex aromas of a vintage red wine along with the delicate harmony and flavors of the wood and its former contents. This process requires close monitoring of the beer's evolution. The final version is blended from different casks, to ensure optimal balance, complexity and enjoyment! A mere one thousand bottles have been earmarked for the US market in 2006. [Thus named in fond memory of Bon-Chien, the late brewery cat, deceased in June 2005, whose antics were very popular with brewery visitors] Try it with pan-fried duck breast or foie gras déglacéed with Modena balsamic vinegar… or with a high cocoa contents dark chocolate."--importer

Belgian Owl - Belgian Single Malt Whisky

Back in stock now!!

Belgian Owl Whisky Single Malt....$76.99 / 750ml
A First!
The Belgian Owl, Belgian Whisky Single Malt will be the first whisky ever made in Belgium with barley raised in Belgium!

It is the outcome of the determined efforts of a distiller from Liege, Etienne Bouillon, who has put all his energy to this project for nearly two years with the best of his skills and know-how.

'The Belgian Owl', Belgian Whisky Single Malt is made from a distillate of the best Belgian malt, the barley beeing raised in Belgium.

Malt refers to sprouted barley whose germination is stopped by heat. This process, also called kilning, determines the aroma given off by the spirits produced from the still.

'The Belgian Owl', Belgian Whisky Single Malt will be a wonderful whisky with delicious aromas of spice, fruity and with flowers notes .

This is what distiller Etienne Bouillon, owner of The Owl Distillery has to say about it:

The distillation I practice gives a very flexible, smooth product. To obtain a top quality taste, I keep only the heart of the distillate obtained after a second distillation.

The malt distillate leaves our century-old stills in Grâce-Hollogne with an alcohol content of more than 70%, and is then aged in oak casks for at least three full years.

During the aging process it gradually takes on its lovely amber colour and develops its magnificent aromas.

At the end of the aging period, the product can be called Whisky. At this point it contains more or less 60% alcohol that is reduced to 46% by adding pure water.

Then it is bottled.

Be the first to own, taste and share the first Belgian Single Malt Whisky, on basis of barley raised in Belgium, in history!

Baladin Cola...$2.99 / 8.45oz
“Cola Baladin” is a soft drinks which contains no coloring or preservative and is produced with the kola nuts bought from the Kola Slow Food Presidium” in Sierra Leone, and part of the revenues from the its sales will be donated to the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity to support the Presidium project. Another important and rather odd thing about this drink: the use of these nuts, and the necessary choice not to use artificial colorings, means that this new Baladin drink has a rather “unusual” color for a cola: IT’S RED! This red color sets it apart from more “commercial” products and makes it immediately clear that our intent is not only to make a profit: our drink is also a sign to show consumers that it often takes very little to play our part in supporting those who cannot even support themselves. Sierra Leone is one of the unfortunately too many African countries tormented by both political and economic wars and fights. Ours may be a niche production, but we believe it will help us give the word SUSTAINABILY its full and important meaning.

Baladin Spuma Nera Soda...$2.99 / 8.45oz
Spuma Nera, or “dark Spuma” as it was once called, may be considered the “mother” of chinotto. We have chosen to go back to the traditional recipe, with a basis of chinotto (a myrtle-leaf orange drink), the red part of rhubarb roots and an orange zest infusion. Of course, no colorings or preservatives are added.

Baladin Cedrata Soda...$2.99 / 8.45oz

A journey searching for the taste of times gone by. A taste that our memory has registered but has been hiding for a very long time. This is Cedrata Baladin. Just water, natural brown sugar, lemon juice, carbon dioxide and the infusion of Calabria citrons from Diamante, which give it all its aroma and flavor. Cedrata Baladin is produced with simple and selected ingredients and contains no colorings or preservatives.

Baladin Ginger Soda...$2.99 / 8.45oz
Its ingredients are simply water, natural brown sugar, lemon juice, carbon dioxide and the unmistakable infusion of herbs, zests of bitter and sweet oranges from Gargano PGI, spices and vanilla which give the drink its distinctive aroma and flavor. There is not ginger in the recipe.
