The 2010 Barolo is a great fall back wine for those who want to know the flavor profile of a classic, well-made Barolo. This is a textbook wine, especially in the exceptional 2010 vintage. Black fruit and prune is folded together with delicate tones of cigar ash, crushed mineral, licorice, white truffle and dried raspberry. The tannins are firm, but polished and the wine leaves a lasting imprint of dark fruit and cola on the elegant finish. Drink: 2016-2028.
2011 Luce Dela Vita Toscana....$92.99 Polished and complex, featuring ripe black cherry, plum, mint, vanilla, chocolate, leather and tobacco aromas and flavors. Dense and tannic, with concentrated sweet fruit for balance. Finishes long and harmonious. Merlot and Sangiovese. Best from 2017 through 2035. 1,600 cases imported. –BS Rated 95/100 The Wine Spectator
A blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, the 2012 Syrah John Sebastiano Vineyard sports an inky purple color to go with fresh, clean and classy notes of mineral-laced dark fruits, white pepper, herbs, smoke and crushed rock. One of the more streamlined, fresh and elegant wines from Russell, it still shows his house style with medium to full-bodied richness, plenty of texture and a great finish. It’s another beauty to drink over the coming 4-6 years.
2012 Liquid Farm Chardonnay "Four"...$73.99 Even better, and my favorite in the lineup, the 2012 Chardonnay Four is 40% from Clos Pepe, 40% From Rita’s Crown, 12% from Bent Rock and the balance from Zotovich. Fermented and aged 13 months in 25% new French oak, it’s made in a rich, ripe style and dishes out loads of white peach, apple blossom, brioche, creme and spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, awesomely textured style on the palate. The acidity is perfectly integrated and it has fabulous purity of fruit, all of which suggest it will drink nicely for 3-4 years, possibly longer. Rated 93/100 The Wine Advocate
2012 Liquid Farm Chardonnay Golden Slope....$51.99 Slightly darker in color (but still light gold), the smoking 2012 Chardonnay Golden Slope offers fabulous apple blossom, citrus and building toasty, creamy and spice aromas and flavors to go with a medium-bodied, rich and layered style on the palate. Seeing 13 months in 15% new French oak (the balance in neutral), this is a rock-star Cali Chardonnay that will drink nicely for 3-4 years. Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate
2012 Liquid Farm Chardonnay White Hill...$46.99 A classy effort that comes from a number of vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, the 2012 Chardonnay White Hill dishes up loads of citrus blossom, crushed rock-like minerality, white flowers and hints of peach in its medium-bodied, clean, pure and elegant character. Spending 10 months in 85% neutral oak and 15% in stainless steel, enjoy it over the coming couple of years. Rated 90/100 The Wine Advocate
2012 Morlet La Prooportion Doree White Blend...$69.99 / 750ml (a blend of 66% semillon, 32% sauvignon blanc and 2% muscadelle): Light-medium straw-tinged yellow. Aromas of orange blossom, waxy semillon, apricot pit, minerals and nutty vanillin oak reminded me of a dry white Bordeaux wine. Dense, spicy and rich; viscous and voluptuous without being heavy, offering terrific chewy depth to its fruit and mineral flavors. Boasts the texture of a much sweeter blend of these two grapes yet retains a juicy freshness. Lovely combination of richness and acidity here. This reminded me of a top Pessac-Leognan white wine but with more early texture and thickness. Rated 93/100 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
2012 Morlet Chardonnay Ma Douce....$79.99
The 2012 Chardonnay Ma Douce reveals more tropical fruits (pineapple) along with lots of honey, a great texture and a full-bodied richness. The good news in 2012 is that there are 650 cases of Ma Douce.
Rated 94-96/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 2012 Morlet Chardonnay Ma Princesse...$85.99 The 2012 Chardonnay Ma Princesse is slightly more structured and mineral-dominated with crisp acids. The good news in 2012 is that there are 550 of Ma Princesse . Rated 93-96+/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 2012 Morlet Pinot Noir En Famille...$106.99 Softer and darker with lots of strawberry and black cherry fruit, the 2012 Pinot Noir En Famille possesses slightly more texture and substance as well as a long finish. All three of these 2012s are best consumed during their first decade of life.
Rated 91-94/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
2011 Morlet Coeur de Vallee Red....$164.99 Even better is the 2011 Coeur de Vallee, a 225-case blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Cabernet Franc, all from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. This sexy 2011 is a candidate for the wine of the vintage. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of forest floor, violets, bouquet garni, black currant and blueberry fruit, stunning richness and no herbaceousness or astringency, and a long, lush finish. A terrific effort in this challenging vintage, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-12 years. Rated 94/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
2011 Morlet Mon Chevalier Red...$144.99 More chocolaty notes intertwined with hints of blueberries, damp earth and burning embers jump from the glass of the structured, medium to full-bodied 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest mostly Cabernet Franc from Knights Valley, it reveals firmer tannins and more structure than the offerings from Napa. Give it several years of bottle age and consume it over the following decade. Rated 91+/100 The Wine Advocate
This is one of the up-and-coming superstar producers in Northern California. Owned by Luc Morlet, who comes from a French family that has long been making wines in Champagne, and who cut his Napa Valley teeth first for Newton and later Peter Michael. His American wife, Jodie, assists Luc Morlet, who still does consulting work at Peter Michael, although it is brother Nick who runs the show at Peter Michael from a winemaking perspective. The debut vintage for the Morlet Family Vineyards was 2006, and they have hardly missed a beat since then in turning out sumptuous Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Bordeaux-based blends, smaller proportions of a killer Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc blend, and a Cote Rotie-like Syrah. All of the following wines represent striking examples or Morlet-s talents. As for the 2012 Chardonnays, all will be bottled over the next four or five months. It is another great vintage for Morlet. All the wines come from the same sources, are 100% Chardonnay, see full malolactic fermentation, and are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Fermentations are all done by indigenous yeasts and the wines are aged sur lie with lots of lees stirring. The 2012s are slightly more intense. The Pinot Noirs come from a vineyard on the second ridge of the Sonoma Coast appellation, all planted between 1,000 to 1,250 feet with a field selection brought in from one of the great grand cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanee. The 2011 production ranged from 150 cases of the Joli Coeur to nearly 200 cases each of the Coteaux Nobles and En Famille. Readers should not forget about the Morlet Family Vineyards- remarkable Syrah, which is a dead-ringer for a top-notch Cote Rotie given its floral character. I was sure some Viognier was included in the blend, but that-s not the case. The wines from this small boutique winery are not to be missed.
Oliver's Cider Bitter Sweet Funk...$10.99 / 750ml The Bittersweet Funk is a complex dry, still cider blended from the best barrels of Tom Oliver’s harvest. Traditional bittersweet and bittersharp vintage cider apples were pressed and then fermented by wild yeasts through the winter, finishing in the spring at the same time as the malolactic ferment takes place. The cider then matured in old oak barrels for another 12 months before being bottled at about 18 months. It’s deliciously complex — a full, spicy nose with a hint of delicate blue cheese gives way to the robust taste of dry, bittering tannins, sour acids, and a long apple skin finish. A very full 6.9% ABV cider that has real character. ABV: 6.90%

With Chardonnay, Franciscan Estate looks for the sort of richness and opulence that malolactic fermentation and sur lie aging in oak barrels bring. They help to deliver that delicious, creamy complexity for which Franciscan Estate Chardonnay is known. But Chardonnay also needs a foundation and structure for all of that richness and fruit. Minerality is essential. So we turn to cooler vineyards in southern Napa Valley, in particular the Carneros District, where the soil is dense clay. The result is grapes that offer impressive structure and mineral flair. ~ Janet Myers, Winemaker

In his 1930 book "Whisky", Aeneas MacDonald teaches us that Glaswegians historically preferred fuller bodied and more flavour-packed whiskies than people in other parts of the world. So what better name for a whisky such as this? In the GLASGOW BLEND you'll find a rich vein of peaty-smokiness, underpinned by sherry cask-aged whiskies, full of dried fruit and wine character. The palate is full and round, with a sweetness typical of whiskies from our company. For decades, The Wellington Statue, outside Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art, has been cheekily topped by a traffic cone, something the local population has taken to heart as a symbol of their sense of humour. The statue has become one of Glasgow’s most iconic images and graces the label of this whisky.
Flavour Descriptors Full, rich and smoky on the palate, with notes of baking spices and sherry wine notes. Recommendations Perfect for drinking neat, with a splash of water or with ice. You can also enjoy Glasgow Blend with soda water as a classic Highball, or in all manner of cocktails. Distillery Sourcing 33% Lowland grain whisky from a Fife distillery. 67% Malt whisky from the regions of Islay, the Highlands and Speyside. The Islay single malt comes from south shore distillery (approximately 20% of the total recipe), vatted with a fruity malt from the village of Brora and a rich sherrried Speyside malt from the Aberlour region (approx. 33%). A small percentage of Speyside and Highland malts complete the recipe. Wood A combination of first-fill Sherry casks, first-fill and refill ex-Bourbon barrels and a small portion of new French oak finishing.
