2020 Arrumaco Garnacha Rose...$9.99 / 750mlOffering impressive density and concentration, striking purity of fruit, and true and loud expressions of Spain’s classic varietals, Arrumaco has become a go-to label that has risen to the top in a crowded category of sensational values.
Tasting Notes: Lighter in color and body than many other Spanish rosés. Loaded with intense raspberry and plum aromas that follow to a crisp yet silky palate.
Serve With: Excellent on its own and with a wide range of lighter fare. The perfect summer sipper and tapas wine!
2020 Penya Cotes Catalanes Rose...$11.99
Cases de Pene is a tiny village in the Roussillon region of Southern France, just 30 miles north of Spain. Ceded to France in the mid 17th century, the area is still known as “French Catalonia”. We celebrate this heritage with the Catalan spelling of the ancient Château and village Cooperative: “Penya”.
Tasting Notes: Offers fresh aromas of Rainier cherries, garrigue, and hints of red raspberry and melon. Rich, full-bodied, yet bright on the palate.
Serve With: Great as an aperitif or an accompaniment to hearty salads, fish and shellfish, charcuterie, frittata, and more.
2020 Chateau Les Mesclances Cuvee Saint Honrat Provence...$24.99 Sourced from a mid-slope parcel that was the original source of grapes at the estate generations ago, the 35-year-old vines are planted to Grenache and Cinsault, with a few Mourvedre plants mixed in. With 8 hours of maceration for the Grenache, this wine leans towards a more vinous and serious style of rosé. This cuvée makes for an ideal companion at the table.
2019 Medimer Marselan Rose....$14.99
Fresh and quaffable
Marselan is a French wine grape that was first bred in 1961 - it is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache
Nice pink color with a beautiful brightness. It has a pleasantly tart, lemony nose that develops into grapefruit. Pleasant acidity, the mouth is light with good strawberry and raspberry fruit and a nice dry finish that lasts and lasts.
2020 Pegau Pink Pegau...$19.99
Sourced from Laurence Féraud’s 100+ acre estate in Sorgues, just 4 miles south of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Pink Pegau boasts an outsized popularity and ardent following in the marketplace. Crisp and aromatic (and a bit cheeky), this bone-dry rosé is loaded with character and offers immense enjoyment both on its own and at the table.
Tasting Notes: Pale pink/salmon in color, with peach, floral and red fruit aromas. Bone dry, with a crisp, mouth-watering acidity leading to a long, spicy, mineral finish.
Serve With: Enjoy as an aperitif, with seafood, or a wide range of lighter fare.
2020 Horgelus Cotes de Gascogne Rose....$13.99
35% Merlot
35% Tannat
30% Cabernet Sauvignon
Horgelus Rose is made from grapes that were picked at night. At night the grapes are cooler and lends itself to a much fresher Rose wine. This Rose has an intense and complex bouquet of sweet strawberries, juicy blackcurrants and ends with a thirst-quenching and dry finish.
Great wine on its own but also goes well with grilled chicken, salmon and fresh salads.
Half Dozen set number 2
2020 Le Grand Valmal Plaisir de Rose...$12.99
Deeper colored rose and it is also fuller-bodied. Strawberry and blackberry flavors dominate and it is rich and round. It finishes with great length and power, plus a bit of peppery spice. Think of it as an alternative to Tavel. Try this bone dry Rose that can be enjoyed now but will last for 2-3 years and continue to improve.
2020 Villa des Anges Rose...$12.99
“Villa des Anges” is crafted by winemaker Jeff Carrel at the Espitalet des Anges domaine in Capestang. Situated on the ruins of an ancient Roman villa, the domaine is owned by Jaqueline Menard de Ginestous, who married-into and is herself from a prominent Languedocienne wine-growing family.
Tasting Notes: A light-bodied wine, intensely crisp and vividly fresh, it offers complex aromas of strawberries and red currants, with a hint of quince.
Serve With: As an aperitif it is the perfect warm weather gulper and also pairs well with a wide range of salads, seafoods, lighter dishes and grilled white meats and poultry.
2020 Bargemone Rose Rose Coteaux d'Aix en Provence...$21.99
Bargemone is among the foremost estates of the Coteaux d’Aix appellation of Provence. A benchmark producer of the delicious, dry rosé for which Provence is famous, the Commanderie was founded by Templar knights in the13th century, and is home to a proud viticultural tradition and more than 160 acres of sustainably grown vineyards.
Tasting Notes: Offers classic aromas of wild strawberries and red currants, with a light, floral character and a crisp, bone-dry palate.
Serve With: A rosé of reference, to be enjoyed year-round on its own or with a wide range of lighter fare and Provence-inspired cuisine.
2020 Domaine Les Mesclances Charmes Rose...$16.99Sourced from the vines abutting the two streams that intersect on the estate, classic varieties including Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Tibouren comprise this fresh, red-fruited rosé. Pressed shortly after harvest with minimal skin contact, the pale color and bright acid lead to an effortless enjoyment of this cuvée.
2019 Sol Real Vinho Verde Rose...$8.99
SOL REAL VINHO VERDE ROSE is all about fresh picked strawberries, rhubarb and red currants. The all-about-summer-pink color give way to well-balanced flavors in the mouth that do super well with food. At 10.5% alcohol, this fresh fruity, slightly sparkly rose is a sunny-time must.
2020 Castello di Ama Purple Rose...$18.99The 2020 Purple Rose, a varietal Sangiovese, is actually quite red in color. Wild floral and herb tones blow off to reveal young strawberries and crushed rocks. This is silky-smooth and pliant, fleshing out across the palate, offering ripe red fruits and minerals motivated by juicy acidity. There’s so much pleasure to be found here, as an enriching note of sweet spice mingles with candied citrus through the long finale. - Eric Guido
