Harviestoun Ola Dubh Ale Aged in 18 Year Old Highland Park Casks

Harviestoun Ola Dubh Ale Aged in 18 Year Old Highland Park Casks...$9.99 / 11.2oz bottle
Old Engine Oil Barleywine matured in Highland Park Whisky barrels.
Ola Dubh (or 'Black Oil') is a collaboration between Harviestoun Brewery and Highland Park, Distiller of the Year*. It is based on Harviestoun's award-winning Old Engine Oil. With more than a stylistic nod to the classic Imperial Porters (and Stouts) of the nineteenth century, this deliciously rich, dark, 8% a.b.v. beer is the first ale to be aged in malt whisky casks from a named distillery and, with traceable casks and numbered bottles, the rst with genuine provenance.

Retaining the appearance of used motor oil from which the beer gets its name, it is deep dark brown, dense and oily. On the nose there are notes of true oil and cocoa as well as faint smoke and heathery peat from the whisky casks. Although lighter in body that its appearance suggests, Ola Dubh is pithy, oily, salty and bitter on the palate. The nish is exceptional; burnt and bitter notes with an interplay of late hop characters, orange oil, fruity tartness and then delicate, fragrant smoke.

Old Engine Oil:
Old Engine Oil is a near-black brew with a silky-smooth rummy aroma, a coffee-ish palate, and a suggestion of the darkest chocolate. It is made from pale malt, roasted barley and malted oats. Old Engine Oil is well-hopped with the sweetish variety Galena from Washington State, Worchester Fuggles and East Kent Golgings.

La Luna Mezcal

La Luna Mezcal Bruto...$92.99
20-25 year agave
Only 75 cases produced
These wild and huge agave are of the inaequidens family, harvested in the hills just past Etucuaro. These massive agaves have low brix and yield, and due to those complexities in working with Bruto we had to inoculate the fermentation from Pulque made from this same maguey. For each vat of 1000 liters we fill it to about 800 liters of bagazo and water and use 20 liters of pulque for the inoculation. Some expressions of this have been brought up as Alto from Michoacan, but both in Cotija, where my family is from and where we have one of our new vinatas, and in the area of Querendaro they refer to it as Bruto.
Aroma- leather, tobacco, blueberries, soil
Flavor- sweet agave, bitter roots

Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome 2020/2021

Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome 2020/2021....$9.99 / 4pk bottles
The History of Winter Welcome
Throughout history, beer of somewhat higher alcohol and richness has been enjoyed for the winter holidays, when old friends get together to enjoy the season. Wassail, a festival to celebrate winter and the beer that goes with it, predates the Christian era. Winter Welcome is vintage-dated with a special label each year, and was first shipped to the US in 1990 - it was the first imported winter seasonal beer. Serve in a traditional Sam Smith tulip or nonik glass for the holidays.
Taste: Honey-amber colored, creamy head of small bubbles, floral aroma and delicious caramel malt flavor with great finesse. Fine hop aroma finish and a fruity note from fermentation in open-topped stone "Yorkshire Squares."

Brooklyn Handcrafted Gin

Brooklyn Handcrafted Gin...$32.99
compare to $34.99 at Total Wine and More
Brooklyn Gin is a craft spirit made in New York with fresh citrus peels and hand-cracked juniper. Our gin is fresh, complex, and flavorful. It’s good enough to drink on its own and we’re proud of that.

Other folks are noticing, too. We won a double gold medal at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a double gold medal at the 2015 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, a gold medal at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a gold medal at the 2015 Craft Competition, and 91 points and a rating of “Excellent, Highly Recommended” at the 2015 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.

We use 100% fresh citrus peels and hand-cracked juniper. By hand-cutting the citrus fruit, and releasing the essential oils in the juniper berries, we make a more vibrant gin than the distillers who use frozen or dried citrus peels.

Unlike mass-produced factory gins, we do everything by hand. It takes more time and effort, but we believe you can taste it in your very first sip. We use one Christian Carl copper pot still. Each batch yields 300 bottles of gin and our process takes three days. We distill Brooklyn Gin using locally purchased fruit and a base spirit made from 100% American corn that is sourced from small farms.

Our small company got its start in the wake of the financial crisis. At that time, due to our available resources, we were unable to build our own distillery. We were lucky to find a remarkable partner just outside the city in the Hudson Valley to help bring our vision of a handmade, small-batch American gin to life. We craft and bottle Brooklyn Gin at the Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery in Warwick, New York.

It is our greatest dream to build our own distillery in Brooklyn, and the realization of that dream is closer than ever.

Caymus Cabernet in HALF BOTTLES

HALF BOTTLE!

2018 Caymus Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon...$42.99 / 375ml
Aromas and flavors which can only be achieved through “hang time” – a technique which chances the loss of crop if early winter sets in. Leaving the fruit to “hang” on the vine unusually long develops suppleness, increases color, and matures the tannins of the grapes. The wines are abundant in textural tannins yet soft as velvet. Crop thinning, allowing measured sunlight to reach the vine’s fruit zone, and waiting for increased ripeness are all part of our viticultural practices. Caymus Cabernets offer a wide array of aromas and flavors including cocoa, cassis and vanilla
