A 96 point Cabernet for Under $20

A 96 point Cabernet for Under $20

2014 Tapiz “Alta Collection” Cabernet Sauvignon....$16.99
Crafted under the watchful eye of Jean Claude Berrouet, who recently retired after 44 years as head winemaker at Chateau Petrus. The Tapiz Alta Collection Cabenret represents one of the great values in Cabernet today!
A wine with lots of depth and fruit now with dark berry and dark chocolate character. Full body, velvety tannins and a long and flavorful finish. So much here. Give it four to five years bottle age. Great wine.
Rated 96/100 James Suckling

Lowest price on Wine-Searcher is $36.99
Dense, tightly wound and well-structured, with floral raspberry and spiced cinnamon aromas and zesty cherry, mineral and toasted herb flavors. The tannins bite down on the finish. Hands off for now. Drink now through 2021. 2,900 cases made.
Rated 91/100 The Wine Spectator

The dark ruby/plum-hued 2011 Zinfandel Home Ranch displays a big, briery, spicy, peppery, earthy bouquet, a supple, opulent, broad texture, surprising richness and plenty of up-front charm and seductiveness. This superb, full-bodied Zinfandel is one of the stars of the vintage.

New Glarus Collab

Last 12 bottles in stock now
De Preof / New Glarus Collab Abtsolution....$15.99 / 750ml
We are thrilled to welcome Daniel Carey of New Glarus Brewing as our 11th annual partner in this series. A long-time student of classic Belgian ales and early practitioner of Belgian-style brewing among American brewers, Daniel brings a rich and divers background to this collaboration. In the true spirit of the project, we have created a beer based on the classic Belgian Abt style, with unique Wisconsin contributions including Santiam and Chinook hops. To further highlight the Dairy State we’ve added lactose for extra mouthfeel and richness. The result is a dark ale with fruity esters, a velvety smooth palate and balancing wood notes from our use of French and American oak along with spicy hop notes. This ale is designed to drink now, but we believe will evolve beautifully over the next 1-2 years.

Stillwater/Westbrook Remix Project Gose Gone Wild

Stillwater/Westbrook Remix Project Gose Gone Wild....$8.49 / 22oz
Stillwater producing their version of Westbrook's Gose
"It’s no secret that we like to party, and sometimes it gets wild. So we took Westbrook’s refreshing Gose and cranked up the volume a bit, adding a massive dose of Citra & Amarillo hops, then fermented it various strains of Brettanomyces...Go Westbrook, it’s your birthday, get funky!!" -Brian (Stillwater Artisanal)

"This is our interpretation of Gose (pronounced “Gose-uh”), a traditional German-style sour wheat beer brewed with coriander and salt. Once nearly extinct, this very refreshing style is making a comeback." - Westbrook's description of their Gose

Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail....$9.99 / 4pk 12 oz CANS
Imperial IPA with Mango and Orange Added - 12% ABV
Despite the crudeness it is tricky to make an effective Molotov cocktail. Despite the unruly nature of the rebel it is very tricky to resist accepted conventions. Molotov Cocktail is a tour de force in hoppiness, it's a spark for action and by far one of the most anti-authoritative beers ever made by Evil Twin Brewing

New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon

New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon...$27.99

Two Roads and Evil Twin Collabs

Two Evil Geyser Gose....$10.99 / 4pk Cans
Two Roads and Evil Twin Collab
5.50% ABV
Two Roads and Evil Twin sourced local ingredients during a trip to Iceland for this collaboration including: Icelandic moss, rye, herbs, sea kelp, skyr (Icelandic yogurt) and birch-smoked sea salt to create a Two + Evil twist on a gose beer; a sour wheat-style ale with a hint of smoke, light lemon color, dry finish and thirst quenching appeal.

Two Evil Pachamama Porter....$9.99 / 4pk Cans
Two Roads and Evil Twin Collab
6.50% ABV
Our second collaboration with Danish/Brooklyn brewery Evil Twin, Two Roads and Evil Twin have paid homage to Incan heritage by using three Peruvian staple foods in this porter: sweet potatoes, purple mais and aji panca chili peppers. Pachamama is a goddess revered by the indigenous people of the Andes; she is known as the earth mother in Inca mythology. Given that the main ingredients of the 6.5% ABV porter come from the rich Peruvian soil, the two breweries thought the name Pachamama fit this product beautifully.

Stillwater Yacht Dry Hopped Session Lager

Stillwater Yacht Dry Hopped Session Lager...$10.99 / 4pk 16 oz CANS
Canned beer has made a serious return in the craft brewing world. Prior to this resurgence, the only beer found in cans were industrial lagers. So as a nod in both directions we present an elegantly crisp and hoppy new world lager. The light and refreshing pilsner malt body delivers an abundance of floral, spice, and grass driven hop flavors and aroma. Perfect for those luxurious cruises through the Caribbean.
Label Design Notes: The luxurious and refined mood of yachting is alluded to by the muted tones of traditional nautical colors. The stripe pattern elongates the perception of the can's size, so that it appears longer, thinner and grander. The Recorda typeface is modern and geometric, recalling the shape of a sailboat.

Named after the atom bomb test grounds, designed by a French car engineer - the bikini was to many a disturbing and degrading creation and fortunately for others a symbol of emancipation.  This is attractively light bodied, seductively well balanced and very drinkable Sour Bikini is anything but a sissy beer.

When Gail Appleson wrote about our favorite Rose this year, it sold out immediately.  We received our last load of this wine for the year!
2016 Villa des Anges Old Vines Rosé...$12.99
Description • This vin gris is a pale copper in color and made from 100 percent cinsault, a red grape that is rarely bottled as a single varietal except in rosés. Jeff Carrel, a well-known winemaker in southern France, crafted this vin gris at the Espitalet des Anges domaine in the village of Capestang. This is a crisp and zesty wine that’s drier and closer to a citrusy white in flavor than the Miraflors. It’s a bit tart with hints of red berries and a touch of spice. It would go well with salads, seafood and other light fare.

Great Value!
2016 Arrumaco Garnacha Rose...$9.99

2016 Donjon Minervois Rose...$16.99
Made from 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 30% Cinsault, this Minervois rosé offers layered, complex scents of orange blossom, peony, ginger and red currant. Flavors of peach and taut currant unfold on the medium-weight palate, with refreshing acidity to lend lift to the mouthfeel and brighten the finish.
Rated 90/100 Wine Enthusiast

* Sustainably grown
2016 Commanderie of Bargemone Rosé...$18.99

Light bright orange. Mineral-accented citrus fruit and red berry scents show very good clarity and pick up a suave floral note with aeration. Chewy and tightly wound, offering juicy cherry and red currant flavors that slowly put on weight as the wine stretches out. Shows good tension and cut on the finish, which lingers with strong, minerally persistence.
Rated 90/100 Vinous Media

The origins of this estate go back to the 13th century when it was the property of the Knights Templar. The large 400-acre vineyard has produced this fine rich wine, full of ripe red fruits and with a bright herbal edge. It is bone dry, crisp and ready to drink.

2015 Janasse Chateauneuf du Pape VV...$182.99 / Magnums
Ripe and focused, with a delightful mix of cassis, blood orange and cherry coulis flavors streaming through, backed by black tea and apple wood accents. Finely beaded acidity lets the fruit stretch out, while a light mineral edge adds range. Shows an echo of licorice snap at the very end. Dense, but there’s remarkable grace here.

Urban Chestnut Count Orlock

Urban Chestnut Count Orlok Black Pumpkin Ale...$8.99 / 4pk pints
Count Orlok Black Pumpkin Ale – That’s right (again)! For the first time ever (again), Urban Chestnut is brewing a pumpkin beer and while it is officially a Revolution Series beer, it does have a little German flare- Nosferatu (Bird of Death), aka Count Orlok was THE German Count Dracula. He was a blood-sucking vampire… but being German he must’ve enjoyed beer too, right? We believe it is so and thus have created a Black Pumpkin Wheat Ale in his honor… a bier noir if you will

"Corail de Saing is a Belgian style Saison with torrified wheat aged in red wine puncheons with Brettanomyces for seven months.  Bottle conditioned, oak aged and brewed in collaboration with Paul Hayden and The Wine and Cheese Place to celebrate their 35th Anniversary." - label

More info from Chris Kinast....
"Corail de Sang was brewed back in September with loads of Torrified Wheat and a touch of American hops in the whirlpool, and fermented in Stainless Steel with our house clean Saison strain. From there it was transferred into 2 French red wine Puncheons with a signal strain of brettanomyces (Brett claussenni) and aged for 6 months before being packaged. It was then bottle conditioned for another 3 before it's release. Huge notes of tannic oak and almost a tropical fruit sweetness round out the pallet with just a slight tartness to finish it up. A touch of residual sweetness and a medium to high carb lead to a finish that will entice wine, cider or barrel-aged Saison drinkers alike. Corail de Sang will continue to develop in the bottle and age nicely (maybe a couple of years), but most will not build up any additional acidity." - Chris Kinast, Perennial Brewer

The big wide world inspires our imagination and fuels our passions. Anything from music, film, beer, literature, architecture, food, engineering, poetry…all art forms essentially, including more beer. We steal with any and all things that possess the one value that we hold most dear: authenticity. The important thing of course is that ‘It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.’ So, what are we saying about this beer, exactly? We gave it our take. We took all there is to love about the IPA, got creative, dry-hopped it a lot, left it unfiltered and shared it openly in the hopes that in some way it may, in turn, inspire you. Hail to The Hop Thief, an original.
