New A La Carte - North Coast Wines

We are excited to introduce these wines to Missouri!

2016 A La Carte Chardonnay North Coast...$14.99
A rich, fruit forward Chardonnay that is very food friendly. It finishes with nice crisp acidity. Flavors of citrus fruits (and citrus peel) with a hint of melon to round it out. Just a touch of oak and vanilla adds to the complexity of the wine.  This wine can easily compete with $20-25 big name Chardonnays.

A La Carte Chardonnay is sourced from cool climate vineyards in California's North Coast wine region and made by hand in our winery custom designed for small lot wines.

2016 A La Carte Pinot Noir North Coast....$15.99
This wine shows excellent structure and balance.  Flavors of dark berries and chocolate.  This is a fantastic value that is an amazing steal for under $20.   Highly recommended Pinot Noir from a great vintage.
Pinot Noir grapes excel in cooler climates and North Coast is one of the coolest climates in California, this region is home to more than half of of the state's wineries, including many of the most celebrated. Includes regions like Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Carneros.   The quality of 2016 Pinot Noir is fantastic but yields were small.

Smithereens White Blend

2015 Smithereens White Blend...$17.99
We are the lowest price on Wine-Searcher
Bosc pear, tart apple and vanilla bean elements make this a fascinating dry wine. Although the aromas are inviting, the first sip tastes austere. But as it opens, the palate and gains more concentration and complexity, proving sophisticated, layered and nuanced.
Rated 90/100 The Wine Enthusiast Magazine

This wine is a blend of 4 varietals with roots in the southern Rhone Valley. This is patterned after the white wines from the Cotes du Rhone and includes the varietals Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, and Grenache Blanc. Each varietal brings a unique characteristic to the blend, resulting in a balanced and refreshing wine.

Château de Lancyre Le Rosé

2017 Château de Lancyre Le Rosé...$18.99
50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 10% Cinsault

The medium-bodied 2017 Le Rose possesses a richness that belies its pale hue. It's savory and rich, with hints of confection but with more meaty, savory notes and dark berries. The blend is 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Cinsault, done direct-press in all stainless steel.
Rated 90/100 The Wine Advocate

Purchased in 1970 by the Durand and Valentin families, the Château was originally built in the 1500's, on the ruins of a 12th century fort. Records of winemaking date back to 1550! Lancyre is now viewed among the top estates of Pic Saint-Loup, which has justifiably garnered a reputation as the Languedoc’s single best wine district.

Tasting Notes: A big rosé! Raspberry and pear aromas on the nose, with distinctive spicy, minty garrigue notes. Big, bold and firm on the palate, ending with a long, clean finish.
Serve With: A rosé for year round drinking! Excellent on its own, it is also a great food wine – pair with hearty salads, grilled vegetables, kebabs, stuffed tomatoes or charcuterie.

Sunora Bacanora

Sunora Bacanora are Mexican produced agave based products but it is a Missouri owned company. Ruben Lopez, the owner, was born in Sonora Mexico but moved to Missouri 45 years ago when is father worked for Chrysler in Fenton MO. When Ruben retired from his career in the FBI his uncle in Sonora Mexico asked him to help develop a commercialized bacanora category and brand.

“Bacanora is the agave spirit millennials have been looking for. It’s the missing link between tequila and mezcal. It tastes better than tequila, but it’s way friendlier than mezcal. And we’re very, very into it!”
                 — BON APPETIT, JULY 2015

Bacanora is carefully hand-crafted in small batches to assure it meets the high standards set forth by its original makers, several generations ago.
In old-style tradition, the cores (or piñas) of the harvested Agave Pacifica are first roasted in stone pits lined with mesquite wood and charcoal. To release their juices, the cooked piñas are crushed using large stone wheels pulled by donkeys. The juice is then carefully fermented then triple distilled for purity.
This simple, old-world method is the secret behind Sunora Bacanora’s alluring flavor: dry, complex, and peppery with a smoky, earthy finish.

Sunora Cream de Bacanora....$23.99
A 30% proof delicious Bacanora cream with a blend of rich dairy cream and coffee mocha flavors.

That is until now. Experience the seductive taste of Sunora Cream De Bacanora for yourself. Enjoy it chilled, over ice or swirl it in coffee. Better yet, try it in your favorite cream cocktail.

Jefferson Ocean 15 Wheated Mash Bill

Jefferson Ocean 15 Wheated Mash Bill!

45% ABV
Jefferson Ocean Single Barrel Bourbon Wheated Mash Bill...$69.99
Ocean Voyage 15 plied the seas above and below the equator in relatively calm water and clear skies. Traffic moved on schedule through the Panama Canal in both directions and there were no significant delays at any of the ports on the five contine visited.
What really made Ocean Voyage 15 unique was that is was our first "Wheated" voyage.
"The bourbon barreled for this voyage uses wheat as its small grain instead of the typical rye. Wheat is less flavorful than rye so durithe maturation process it allows more of the corn's sweetness and the wood's vanilla to come through prior to being loaded onto our ships. I was beyond excited to get these barrels back and taste how the Ocean waves, salty air and heat transformed this bourbon. Salt was the dominate note that popped as I nosed this bourbo, it was more evident than all the other rye voyages. The first thing I noticed was the viscosity of this bourbon, a full and bready mouthfeel after the initial sip. Upfront a salted Creme Brulee with vanilla gives way to tobacco and oak mid palate, the wood staves provide a lingering brininess that stays with you through the finish." -- Jeffersons

Complex malt flavors are framed in oak with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, toasted coconut and a touch of dark cherry. Sucaba is a one-of-a-kind sipping experience. It is a beer built to last, and one that will reward careful cellaring for years to come. We highly recommend counting the years with an abacus.

2016 Guardian Cellars Chalk Line Red Blend ...$24.99
Our version of THE Washington blend is 42% Cabernet, 28% Syrah, 28% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. Right from the beginning this wine exudes ripe wild blackberry and plum jam. These dark fruit notes are soon joined by the sweet notes of vanilla latte and roasted coffee along with some black pepper spice. The mouth-feel is dense, lengthy and generous. Although good now, this vintage is an age-worthy wine.

2015 Guardian Cellars Gun Metal...$39.99
Yes, friends Gun Metal is back! This vintage is precise, focused and, as always, is super tasty. A blend of 48% Cabernet, 48% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot from Columbia Valley, Gun Metal was aged 20 months on 65% new French oak. This vintage features notes of black cherry, vanilla bean, cedar, black olive, licorice and a hint of leather. 600 cases produced

2015 Guardian Cellars The Rookie...$41.99
Welcome back old friend. The Rookie, known around the winery as Jennifer’s favorite, will definitely knock your socks off! Back for its ninth vintage, this stunner was sourced from Klipsun and Obelisco vineyards, in Red Mountain, and aged 20 months on 80% new French oak. This is a classic Cabernet featuring notes of black currant, black licorice, thyme, savory herb, tobacco leaf, cola and leather. As Jennifer says, this wine is just plain yum.

2016 Newsprint Merlot
We’re adding a 100% Merlot to our Newsprint lineup this year and holy smokes it’s delicious. This lovely wine is full of notes of red cherry, vanilla bean and mocha. This well-rounded wine is soft, yet expressive. It’s full-bodied, but approachable. Hailing from Red Mountain, the flavors are very pure and fresh. Simply put, this is what Merlot should be

2015 Newsprint Red Wine...$18.99
When we created Newsprint we were focused on just making straight varietals for it. But we ARE Guardian Cellars and this IS Washington, how could we not make a delicious red blend? This tasty blend is comprised of 65% Cabernet and 35% Syrah and is primarily Red Mountain fruit. This rich, dense and full wine won’t disappoint. This vintage features notes of raspberry, black cherry, vanilla and dark, juicy, red fruit. Drink it now!

2014 Newsprint Chardonnay...$17.99
We brought some a hint of butter and just a touch of oak to this Chardonnay party! For our debut vintage of Newsprint Chardonnay we used 50% new French oak barrels that are water bent. This Chardonnay, hailing from Conner Lee Vineyard, features notes of gorgeous golden delicious apple and yellow plum. This Chardonnay has great texture, with very focused flavors and a sleek finish. 450 cases produced

2016 Newsprint Cabernet Sauvignon...$26.99
Newsprint Cabernet is a serious show- stopper! This wine features big and bright blueberry notes and hints of fresh herb on the nose. Swirl and take a deep sniff, you’ll get secondary notes of vanilla, black cherry, cassis and red currant. This wine has some serious body, but the soft tannins give it a lovely texture. 2015 Chablis 1er and Grand Cru Chablis

2015 Chablis 1er and Grand Cru Chablis
While 2014 will go down as a more classic vintage for Chablis, the 2015's deliver a huge amount of immediate gratification. These may not be built for the next 20 years (who wants to gamble on premox anyway) but they show amazing purity of fruit an classic Chablis terroir.

2015 Christian Moreau Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru...$94.99
Even in a warm vintage like 2015, this vineyard produces the most structured of the Grand Cru wines, as this still tight, tense and mineral wine illustrates. With its steely edge and firm structure, it is still to show its rich fruit. Expect the wine to take its time and don't drink before 2022.
Rated 95/100 Wine Enthusiast

Rated 93/100 Vinous

2015 Christian Moreau Chablis Vaudesir Grand Cru...$89.99
Beautifully rich, this wine is developing well. Its ripeness with yellow-fruit flavors and layers of intense acidity are held together by the minerality, the tight and nervy edge of the wine. As it ages further, the wine will broaden and soften to give further richness. Drink from 2020.
Rated 94/100 The Wine Enthusiast

Rated 93/100 The Wine Advocate

2015 Christian Moreau Chablis Valmur Grand Cru...$89.99
A ripe, rounded wine, this shows the richness of the vintage while not missing out on intense acidity. The mineral texture and the concentration of the ripe yellow fruit come together in a harmonious whole while needing a little more aging. Drink from 2020.
Rated 94/100 Wine Enthusiast

Rated 92/100 Wine Spectator
Rated 92/100 Burghound

2015 Christian Moreau Chablis Blanchot Grand Cru...$89.99
Fresh and ripe, this also has a strong steely character. Mineral and densely textured, it's a powerful wine, showing ripe yellow fruit, spice from wood and considerable concentration. Moreau makes just three barrels of this wine. Drink from 2019.
Rated 94/100 Wine Enthusiast
Rated 93/100 The Wine Spectator

2015 Billaud Simon Chablis Blanchot Grand Cru....$111.99
This wine was aged for 14 months, including a period in wood that gives it richness and a smooth texture. It is concentrated, with intense citrus fruit balanced by minerality and a flinty edge. The wine, from the easternmost and smallest of the Grand Crus, will age well. Drink from 2021.
Rated 94/100 The Wine Enthusiast

2015 Billaud Simon Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru....$91.99

This is noticeably more reserved with its pure nose of green fruit, mineral reduction and sea shore scents. The palate impression of the slightly more voluminous and decidedly succulent flavors that are also somewhat less refined than usual while offering lovely depth and length on the well-balanced finish where a hint of wood can be found. This notably pretty effort should benefit from a few years of cellar time to develop more depth.
Rated 92/100 Burghound

2015 Billaud Simon Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru....$53.99
Close to the Grand Cru vineyards, this premier cru shares many of the same characteristics, including the ability to age. That's certainly the case with this intense wine, still young and full of apricot and crisp apple fruits. A flinty line cuts right through the wine, bringing out the zesty texture and acidity.
Rated 93/100 The Wine Spectator

Rated 93/100 The Wine Enthusiast

2015 Billaud Simon Chablis Montee de Tonnerre 1er Cru....$53.99
The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre underwent the same vinification as the Mont de Milieu. It has a complex bouquet with sea spray/flint aromas at first, a touch of Golden Delicious apple and smoked walnut. The palate is very balanced and poised with a crisp line of acidity and a generous finish that embraces tropical fruit (guava and passion fruit) but does not allow them to dominate proceedings. This is another impressive 2015 from Samuel Billaud.
