2019 CHATEAU CARBONNIEUX BLANC

2019 CHATEAU CARBONNIEUX BLANC...$48.99
The estate is noted for white wine, and this latest release lives up to the reputation. This textured, mainly Sauvignon Blanc wine has tight acidity set against wood aging and ripe citrus and white fruit flavors.
Rated 94/100 Wine Enthusiast

Grape feature - Syrah

Grape: Syrah
Syrah is a dark-skinned red grape, known for producing very full-bodied wine with strong fruit flavors. Its origins have been popularly debated, but its modern viticultural home is unquestionably the northern Rhône Valley of eastern France.

In Australia, Syrah is the flagship variety and has developed such a distinct personality that it is essentially regarded as a distinct variety, overwhelmingly but not exclusively known as Shiraz.....Syrah can be quite floral in its youth, developing white and black pepper aromas and herbaceous notes as it ages. Some examples show tanned leather and smoky scents, while the fruit in these wines tends towards the very dark flavors of blackcurrant and licorice.

Old World styles of Syrah are generally produced in a more earthy and savoury style in comparison to the New World where fruit-foward notes are more common

Some of the world's most famous Syrah wines are the peppery, earthy reds of the northern Rhône, specifically of the Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Cornas and Saint-Joseph appellations. While Hermitage has been held in high regard for many centuries, the "roasted slopes" of Côte-Rôtie have emerged as a leading source of Syrah only towards the end of the 20th Century. - info from Wine-Searcher

2019 Saint Cosme Cote Rotie...$86.99
100% Syrah

Big florals and raspberries mark the nose of Saint Cosme's 2019 Cote Rotie. Hints of stems show through, and this wine clearly would benefit from a few years in the cellar, but it is far from being unapproachable. Normally a blend of several lieux-dits, it sees about 30% new oak in its élevage, but the wood is scarcely noticeable. Medium to full-bodied, creamy and supple on the palate, with a long, fruit-infused finish, this should age gracefully for a decade or more.
Rated 95/100 The Wine Advocate
A racy, high-pitched, mineral-driven style, with raspberry and damson plum coulis notes pierced with savory and sanguine accents. The long, tight-grained, iron-edged finish resonates. Best from 2022 through 2034. 2,000 cases made, 370 cases imported

Adami Prosecco “Garbel DOC”...$15.99 / 750ml
Garbél is the Adami family’s entry-level Prosecco. With nearly a century of experience in the historical heart of the Prosecco production area, the Valdobbiadene DOCG, Adami begain working in the extended Prosecco denomination, Treviso DOC, in order to produce an affordable everyday sparkling wine. In 2004 they began production of the Garbél Prosecco Treviso DOC. Garbél, when referring to wine, translates in the ancient local dialect to mean dry, crisp, and pleasantly tart.
2021 Scaia Bianco...$13.99 / 750ml
The Scaia project was launched by Tenuta Sant’Antonio in 2006 with the aim of creating wines with a modern style outside the restrictions of the denomination system. This wine is a blend of 55% Garganega, the grape variety used to make Soave, and 45% Chardonnay. The vineyards are located near the Soave area. The Scaia wines are very fruity and fresh, for young consumers or for those who want something different.

2019 Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio ‘Porer’...$26.99 / 750ml
Porer is pure Pinot Grigio, but it is far from a simple wine. This is a winemaker’s wine, all about the joy of experimenting and bringing different techniques together to produce a fascinatingly complex product. One part of the grapes was pressed immediately after harvest to keep the fresh flavors and aromas. Another part was kept on the skins for 15 hours and the third part was in contact with stems and skins for about one year, absorbing color, some tannin, and other rich flavor components.
2021 Vietti Derthona Timorasso...$34.99 / 750ml
Hailing from northern Piedmont, Timorasso has long been thought an interesting native varietal with exceptional aging and evolutionary potential.
2020 Masseria Li Veli Passamante Red...$14.99 / 750ml
Passamante is Li Veli’s entry Salice Salentino, the Negroamaro-based wine that defines the Salento Peninsula. Though no oak aging is required for non-riserva Salice Salentino wines, Li Veli gives Passamante 6 months in barriques to round out the wine and introduce additional complexity. Passamante is the name of the wooded area next to the vineyard.
2020 Selvapiana Chianti Rufina...$17.99 / 750ml
This Chianti Rùfina is the pillar of Selvapiana’s production, using primarily Sangiovese with small contributions from traditional blending partners Canaiolo, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera. This wine is an excellent example of the finesse and crispness the Rùfina subzone of Chianti delivers.
2019 Vietti Nebbiolo Perbacco...$26.99 / 750ml
Fondly known to many as a "baby Barolo", Perbacco is always 100% Nebbiolo sourced from some of the fifteen different Grand Cru vineyards in Barolo. Recently the winery started using a small portion of grapes from its vineyards in Barbaresco as part of the blend as well. Each Cru is vinified separately, aged for two years in oak (as with the Barolo) and then a selection is made for expression of the vintage and then blended together. An incredible value, Perbacco is intended to show the full complexity of the zone and the Nebbiolo varietal to novice and seasoned wine lovers alike.
2017 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova...$134.99 / 750ml
Tenuta Nuova, meaning “New Farm,” was literally a groundbreaking project by Casanova di Neri to develop an area in the Brunello di Montalcino denomination that had not been planted with Sangiovese before. The ridge, covered with Mediterranean maquis shrubs, was originally owned by a shepherd, but proved to be too rocky for good grazing. The Neris, however, saw great promise for vineyards. They planted Le Cetine vineyard with vines cut from the winery’s exceptional Cerretalto vineyard, and implemented the highest standards of viticulture in the vineyards. Ultimately, the Neris’ faith in the area has been validated by the exceptional quality of the Tenuta Nuova Brunello.

Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest Oak Aged Lager

Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest Oak Aged Lager...$8.99 / 6pk

A classic amber lager in the Vienna style, which was first served at the Oktoberfest celebration in Munich in 1872. Vienna lagers were so popular that they dominated the festival for decades until they were eventually edged out by lighter colored beers that came into favor in the second half of the 20th century.

Czech Saaz hops are used, which are the classic variety from Bohemia and were dominant in the Vienna style, dating back to when Bohemia was part of the Austrian Empire and provided most of the hops for the region’s breweries.

Our version is dominated by toasty malt flavors and is balanced by a delicate floral and spicy Saaz hop flavor and bitterness.
