Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Tequila Cask Terminado

Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Tequila Cask Terminado...$89.99
Terminado brings together Smokehead Islay single malt with tequila. It’s the meeting of two restless spirits – and the awakening of a mesmerising whisky.  There, in this tequila cask finish, fiery peat awakes with wild agave. Smoke mixes with chewy meringue. And citrus spins with sweetness. You ain’t tasted nothing like this before.

What is hop water? Basically, it’s a non-alcoholic, hop-flavored beverage. Like a near-beer, but without grains, sugar, or calories. To make one that actually tastes good, we leaned on one of America’s highest-rated IPAs: Axe Man and its Citra and Mosaic hop bill. No alcohol, just big hop flavor with a crisp, clean finish. Not bad for not beer.

New Expressions from Don Julio

New from Don Julio -
two limited releases!
Don Julio Alma Miel Tequila Joven...$94.99
Introducing Tequila Don Julio Alma Miel
Alma Miel is classified as a Joven tequila. The Spanish word “Joven” translates to “young”. Joven tequila is made from a blend of unaged and aged tequilas. Continuing Don Julio González’s legacy of living Por Amor to craft only the exceptional, Tequila Don Julio pays homage to the heart and soul of tequila with the introduction of Tequila Don Julio Alma Miel, a blend of Blanco tequila distilled with oven-roasted agave honey and Añejo tequila which has been aged for at least 14 months and finished in Crémant du Limoux barrels. The result is an extraordinary tequila with slightly sweet notes of agave honey, spiced orchard fruit, creamy caramel, and rich roasted agave creating a lusciously smooth sipping tequila. Best enjoyed in its purest form, neat or on the rocks.

Don Julio Ultima Reserva Tequila Extra Anejo....$359.99
In 2006, Don Julio, with his family, planted their final agave field. In honor of his devotion and craftsmanship, this agave harvest was carefully distilled, barreled, and set aside for a special use. To preserve this tequila and the exquisite agave piñas behind it, we have implemented a Solera aging system. The Solera aging method combines and matures tequilas of different characteristics finished in unique casks, allowing the final agave harvest to remain at the heart of this rare Extra Añejo Tequila. Our Ultima Reserva has been rested in oak, previously used to age bourbon, and finished in Madeira wine-seasoned casks. Salud, to creating only the exceptional.

Beurre de Baratte Fleur de Sel

Fresh batch in stock now at Forsyth only right now!
Le Meunier Beurre de Baratte Fleur de Sel "Salted"...$13.99 / 9oz

From the LA Times
"....But it was no mystery to anyone who has sampled the unbelievably tasty Beurre de Baratte — the French butter that is a featured ingredient on high-end menus at restaurants including Providence, Petit Trois and Republique. The guy in the white jacket at the center of the throng of chefs and food writers was Rodolphe Le Meunier, whose name is on every gold-foiled package. And in cheese circles, he’s a rock star. In a way, it’s funny that the thing he’s best known for in Southern California is his butter. At least until you taste it. Beurre de Baratte makes every other butter you taste seem insipid. It’s expensive, certainly (most restaurants serve it only with a surcharge). But as indulgences go, it's so good that it seems a relative bargain.

Le Meunier says the butter is made to his specifications in small lots by a producer in Normandy. The cream is inoculated with bacteria and fermented for a couple of hours — like yogurt. Then it's churned in an old-fashioned beater, orbaratte. Beurre de Baratte comes salted (aggressively, with fleur de sel) and sweet (unsalted). Both are a deep golden color and incredibly richly flavored, almost more like cheese than regular butter. The unsalted is best for cooking, but it needs to be used carefully because of its high moisture content (open a package and you'll probably see a little water weeping from the pat). Le Meunier says it’s great for baking cakes, not so much for crisp crusts. One of his favorite treats is to spread it on hot toast and sprinkle it with chocolate powder. If the thought of that doesn't get you salivating, you haven't tasted great butter. “And if you ever make beurre blanc with it and serve that on a nice piece of fish, oooooh,” he says, shaking his hand in the universal gesture for sublimity.

... the market, is well-stocked with the Beurre de Baratt for from the young cheese master Rodolphe Le Meunier, who is kind of the Jimmy Page of affineurs, a genuine Meilleur Ouvrier de France. (Beurre de Baratte is butter made the old-fashioned way; churned rather than extracted with a centrifuge.)

More to the point, perhaps, the pungent, deep-yellow Normandy butter has become a cult item in some of Los Angeles’ best restaurants. Early reviews of Walter Manzke’s restaurant République dwelled as much on the magnificence of the butter, for which he charged extra, as they did on his roast chicken or pork terrine. On recent visits to Petit Trois, it was unnecessary for the waiter to identify the soft butter that came with the baguette – the nutty, salty, umami-rich taste, like popcorn butter times 10, was unmistakable.

Bruichladdich 18 Year Old Re/Define Single Malt Scotch...$169.99
Matured exclusively on Islay, primarily in ex-Bourbon casks and a small number of wine casks, The Bruichladdich Eighteen is the epitome of Bruichladdich's signature unpeated house style. Full bodied and beautifully fragrant, notes of honey, butterscotch, and citrus orange open on the nose, with a medley of tropical fruits and toasted mellow oak lingering on the palate.
"This is an ultra-high provenance single malt. Every single element of The Bruichladdich Eighteen - from the specific harvest and barely varietals used to the exact casks it has matured in - is fully traceable. Which, for a whisky of this age, is quite incredible. 18 years ago, we distilled spirit from our first ever crop of home-grown Islay barley and our passion to diversify and champion our cereal growing programme has never wavered. It’s about making delicious whisky with real provenance which also benefits our community – and The Bruichladdich Eighteen is the embodiment of this ethos.” - head distiller
