Hecht Bannier Cotes de Provence Rose

2015 Hecht Bannier Cotes de Provence Rose....$16.99
For our Cotes de Provence rosé we take a path quite apart from the one we follow for our Languedoc rosé, with its high proportion of Syrah. We have sought a Provence rosé of immense charm and minerality redolent of fennel, anise and purple flowers.
We love just sipping this wine out on our garden in Aix-en-Provence. Grab a glass with some friends and taste with a fougasse, some anchovies and even some Salonenque olives.

Tavel Rose 2015

2015 Domaine Lafond Tavel Rose...$15.99
Grenache 60%, Cinsault 20%, Syrah 20%
The Tavel is characterized by a color of a soft pure pink. The dominant aromas are complex, white and red fruits combine with floral notes. Over time these fruity aromas evolve towards more balanced soft, with spicy touches and stone fruit, while the color of iridescent amber highlights. It has, in the first year, all its flavors but has exceptional potential for aging. Drink with  Mediterranean dishes, grilled meats, fried fish, but also with white meat and poultry. It is also the wine brandade, bouillabaisse and the bouillabaisse. In addition, the TAVEL is particularly recommended with Asian cuisine; Indeed, it fits perfectly with the flavors of the Far East.

2015 Bandol Rose

2015 Peyrassol Rose

2015 Chateau Peyrassol Cotes de Provence Rose...$28.99
Pale in colour, with soft rose-tinted overtones, Château Peyrassol radiates freshness. Its subtle nose of citrus, vine peach, apricot and fine floral notes is inviting. It has a beautiful, dense palate, delicate and lively, and is notable for its balance and full body, punctuated by a long, fruity finish.

2015 Commanderie de Peyrassol Rosé Côtes de Provence...$21.99
Cinsault, Syrah and Grenache make a balanced trio full of fruity flavours, nicely sharpened with a touch of Mourvèdre.  Harvested separately during the night when temperatures are coolest, the grapes are then de-stemmed and pressed. After fermentation they are aged in stainless steel vats.
Its rosy appearance is soft as a dream, and an expressive, gourmet nose lends charm to this blend dominated by wild berries: gooseberry and raspberry reveal themselves in a crisp, silky palate enhanced with an elegant touch of minerality. Ideal as an aperitif, to accompany tapas, but also goes well with all varieties of grilled fish, beef or fish tartare and fresh berry desserts.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Rose Wine

Pitt * Jolie * Perrin
2015 Château Miraval Cotes de Provence Rose...$23.99

A beautiful light pink colour, fresh fruit aromas and refreshing acidity. Miraval’s pure expression of the terroir of Côtes de Provence

The inside story of Château Miraval, the Provence estate where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie pursue their wine-making dreams
Robert Camuto
Issue: June 30, 2014

One of the biggest wine stories in recent memory comes in the form of a squat Burgundy-shaped bottle of rosé from Provence. Not just any rosé, but one that arises from the winemaking passions of Hollywood's most famous celebrity couple—Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

For Pitt, 50, a two-time Academy Award-nominee for best actor in a leading role and a longtime wine lover, the Miraval rosé is the culmination of a dream. "We became impassioned with this place, which could produce its own wine, its own food, and become a place where artists could congregate and share ideas," Pitt told Wine Spectator. After renting Miraval for several years, he and Jolie bought the property in 2012 for an estimated $60 million.

As the new owners released their first wine from Château Miraval last year, made in partnership with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel fame, the media took note in a way it rarely does for wine. News reports flashed around the globe as the wine was offered on a pre-arrival basis.

Fortunately, the wine's quality matched the hype. The debut bottling, the Jolie-Pitt & Perrin Côtes de Provence Rosé Miraval 2012, rated an outstanding 90 points on Wine Spectator's 100-point scale and ranked among the Top 100 of 2013. The recently released 2013, a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Rolle, is a fine second effort (89 points, $30, 16,000 cases made). Wine Spectator senior editor James Molesworth describes the wine as light, pure and steely in style, showing rose petal and strawberry flavors, with white cherry notes, followed by savory and stony hints on the finish.

Initially, Pitt and Jolie weren't looking to become winemakers. "Truthfully, we were originally just looking for a European base for our family, so we could get to the other parts of the world we were interested in, and a place where our kids could run free and not be subjected to the celebrity of Hollywood," Pitt says. "Then we discovered Miraval, and the idea grew."

Soon after inking the purchase, Pitt turned to the Perrins, one of the Rhône Valley's leading wine families, to help guide the estate. Pitt was introduced to the family through a mutual friend—American high-end furniture

New vintage of Brangelina's rose arrives soon; it's not another crappy celebrity wine
By S. Irene Virbila

The second vintage of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Provence rose,… (Chateau Miraval )
If you’re one of the impatient ones, and have to have a bottle of Brangelina’s latest rosé from Provence right now, you’ll have to jet over to London or France. That’s right. The first bottles of 2013 Château Miraval Côtes de Provence rosé will be sold first in France and England.

There’s been a waiting list for the wine since last year and the people on it were notified by email that they could sign on Thursday and buy one case of six bottles each. Just in time for Valentine’s Day. Go to the website and you’ll be informed very politely, in French, that the reservation list for the first bottles of the 2013 vintage is now closed.

For the rest of us, the wine goes on sale in two weeks.
The first release of the rosé from their summer residence and wine estate in southeast France, made with the Perrin family of the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate Château de Beaucastel and the Central Coast property Tablas Creek Vineyard, sold out quickly. And it wasn’t just another crappy celebrity wine, but a serious rosé which was rated No. 84 in Wine Spectator’s list of the top 100 wines of 2013, the only rosé to make the list."

The estate includes around 50 to 60 acres of vines.  The couple are the latest in a long list of stars who have invested in wine, from ex-Formula One champion Michael Schumacher, singer Sting and footballer David Beckham to actor Gerard Depardieu, filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and singer Madonna.  Marc Perrin of the family that partnered with Jolie-Pitt said in February that the couple were involved in the production process and wanted to do more than "just put their name" on the label.  "They want to be proud of the wine on their property. They are really looking for excellence," he said, adding that the estate would later look to also produce red and white wines.

More 2015 Rose Wines from France

2015 Domaine Faillenc Saint Marie Rose des Glacieres...$14.99
The rosé is made via the saignée method. The grapes, in this case 100% Syrah, go into a tank for a short period of time, usually overnight. After this short maceration period, the juice “bled” off has absorbed some color from the skins, but does not carry the dark purple hue that Syrah can produce. The fermentation is long and slow at controlled temperatures. The Giberts have traditionally left a trace of residual sugar in this rosé, believing that it complements the fruit; but, beginning with the 2011 vintage, the wine will be vinified “dry” to emphasize the true terroir of this very special micro-climate.

2015 Domaine de Fenouillet Ventoux Rose....$13.99
This Rosé is vinified partially by direct press and partially by “saignée”, the juice is naturally clarified after a cold “débourbage” of 24 hours, the wine ferments at temperature that never exceeds 16 degrees Celsius and then it is aged on the fine lees for four to six months before bottling. It is a blend of 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 10% Syrah, all of which is planted to soils of clay, limestone and silex. Production is limited: we import approximately 6000 bottles per annum for the US market.

Cooper's from Australia!

Very excited to have Cooper's from Australia back in the set.  I am thinking it has been at least 5-7 years?

And the price is much better, I remember it being $16 a 6 pack?

Cooper's Sparkling Ale...$10.99 / 6pk
The pinnacle of the brewers’ craft. The ale by which all others should be measured. With its famous cloudy sediment and its distinctive balance of malt, hops and fruity characters, the old ‘Red Label’ is a tasty slice of Coopers history

Coopers Pale Ale....$10.99 / 6pk
Coopers Pale Ale The Original Pale Ale. Beware of pale imitations. Guaranteed to turn heads, this is the beer that inspired a new generation of ale drinkers. With its fruity and floral characters, balanced with a crisp bitterness, Coopers Pale Ale has a compelling flavour which is perfect for every occasion.

Coopers Best Extra Stout...$10.99 / 6pk
It reigns every winter. A consistent award winner both here and around the globe, Coopers Best Extra Stout is as close to perfection any stout is likely to ever get. Bring on winter! (well it is winter in Australia now, I guess)

WRC release - Highland Park Ice

This will go via our Whiskey Reward Club.
Purchases towards this release will count until June 11 at 7pm.
Will notify customers on June 13th.

Highland Park 17 Year Old Ice Edition...$299.99 / bottle
53.9% ABV
This 17 year old single malt has the classic Highland Park flavour dynamic, similar to Freya in the Valhalla Series.
TASTING NOTES:  A radiant whisky, natural in colour with mirror-like brightness. Up-front, vivid aromas of cool, fresh pineapple and mango sorbet give way to silvery shards of smoke and the frosty kick of root ginger. Like the Ice Giants themselves, the palate is powerful yet smooth, misty peat smoked inter-twined with vanilla seeds. A beautifully balanced finish, with lingering woodiness and spices.

INTRODUCING ICE EDITION: A SINGLE MALT WHISKY FROM A DIFFERENT REALM
We are proud to announce the release of our new ICE Edition bottling, a whisky truly from a different realm, in a special release of 30,000 bottles. This stunning expression evokes the elemental power of ice and celebrates the Viking heritage of our home on Orkney, a place instilled with the magic of Norse mythology.
LEGEND HAS IT:  According to legend, the ice realm, Niflheim, is the homeplace of darkness, cold, ice and frost. The first Ice Giant, Ymir, was born at the beginning of time when the edge of the realm melted from the heat of the neighbouring fire realm, Muspelheim, and he is the first creature mentioned in Norse creation mythology.  As Ymir slept, he gave birth to the Jotun family, a race of powerful Ice Giants standing at over 20 feet high and known as the Gods of Creation. When they shook, fought or sneezed, it caused earthquakes!
GLACIAL PACKAGING:  The bottle is designed to bring to life the dazzling ice realm, with blue-tinted glass and a sharp, faceted shape. The front of the bespoke bottle features a Norse symbol representing the creation of the world, which they believed was protected by a serpent, Jormungandr, biting his own tail. Encased in a mountain-shaped wooden cradle, the whole design reinforces the links to the Ice Realm and its mythology. Watch the video below to see the bottle come to life!

2013 Le Cirque Rouge....$13.99

Tasted from bottle, the 2013 Côtes Catalanes is a smoking blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and the balance Carignan. Aged all in tank and coming from 50-year-old vines, it has tons of black raspberry, kirsch, licorice and spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, pure, polished style on the palate. It’s hard to resist now, and I see no reason to delay gratification. This will compete with 20-30 dollar southern Rhônes.
Rated 91/100 The Wine Advocate

2014 Penya Cotes Catalanes Rouge....$11.99
Also terrific, the ruby/purple 2014 Côtes Catalanes (52% Grenache, 36% Carignan and the rest Syrah, aged all in tank) offers lots of kirsch and darker berry fruit, spring flowers, pepper and violet notes to go with a medium-bodied, supple, forward, lively feel. Like the 2013, this is a rocking value to drink over the coming couple of years.
Rated 91/100 The Wine Advocate

2014 Les Darons Languedoc...$13.99
A wine that blew me away was the 2014 Languedoc Les Darons by Jeff Carrel. Still in barrel, it offers thrilling notes of black and blue fruits, violets, and peppery spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, elegant, seamless profile on the palate. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Carignan and 10% Syrah that was fermented and aged all in concrete tank, it has striking purity, integrated acidity and a great finish. It should drink nicely on release and have 7-8 years of overall longevity.
Rated 91-94/100 The Wine Advocate

2013 Domaine Cabirau Cotes du Roussillon...$15.99
I loved the 2013 Côtes du Roussillon from Domaine Cabirau. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Carignan that was aged mostly in tank, it offers a voluptuous, sexy personality to go with lots of kirsch and black raspberry fruit, savory herbs, pepper and dried earth. This medium to full-bodied, complex, elegant red has a core of sweet fruit, fine tannin and a great texture, all of which come together nicely on the finish. It’s already hard to resist, and I see no reason to delay gratification. These blockbuster efforts are made at the coop in Tautavel. They more than over-deliver and offer classic Roussillon flair and texture, yet back it up with solid mid-palate concentration and sound structure. Don't miss them.
Rated 91/100 The Wine Advocate

2013 Domaine Galaman AOP Fitou...$14.99
The 2013 Fitou Domaine Galaman (Carignan, Grenache and Syrah) is a fruity, forward effort that has loads of texture and richness. Offering plenty of mineral-tinged fruit, licorice and toast, it is medium to full-bodied, pure, up-front and already hard to resist. I don’t think it will make old bones, but it will certainly be a crowd-pleaser over the coming 3-4 years.
These solid efforts are made by Claude Gros, who also consults at Chateau de la Negly, and is one of the leading oenologists in the region
Rated 90/100 The Wine Advocate

2011 Syrousse Cotes du Roussilon Villages....$14.99
The 2011 Syrousse is composed of 70% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 10% [Carignan]. Revealing lots of blackberry, cassis, camphor and licorice characteristics as well as a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and a long finish, it should drink well for another 2-3 years.
Rated 90/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
A blend of 70% Syrah, 20% Grenache, and 10% Carignan that sees no oak whatsoever, the 2011 is a superb value that drinks well above its humble price point. Showing beautiful mineral-drenched blackberry styled fruit, wild herbs, licorice, and hints of pepper, it stays classy and focused on the palate. Medium-bodied, elegant, and fresh, with both juicy acidity and firm, yet ripe tannin lending focus and length on the finish, it should be purchased by the case, and consumed over the coming handful of years.

Limited Whiskey Release

Still 630 Rally Point O Cask....$29.99 / 375ml
Rare Release Barrel Series #2
58.3% alc/vol (116.6 Proof)

The 2nd offering in our Rare Release Barrel Series is a heavenly blend of ginger and RallyPoint. It’s so seductively delicious you’ll want it again and again.

The life of this special barrel has been incredible so far. It originally held one of our first Single Barrels of RallyPoint. Once freshly emptied, we lent it to our friends Kathy Kuper and Bill Foster to make their signature, barrel-aged version of their Big O Liqueur: 2015 Big O Reserve. When they were done with the barrel, they returned it to us and we filled it with a new Single Barrel of RallyPoint. Over six long months, the RallyPoint slowly absorbed the sweet and sexy ginger finish you find on the nose and tongue.

So we proudly present our RallyPoint O Cask Rye Whiskey. This is an extremely limited edition spirit, only one single barrel was created, yielding only 480 bottles, so when it’s gone, it’s gone forever. We bottled it at cask strength, in this case it happened to be 116.6 Proof. At this strength, it best conveys the maximum amount of decadent ginger notes from the Big O and the rye spiciness you love in RallyPoint. Plus, it can stand a couple ice cubes if you want to enjoy it on the rocks or in your favorite cocktail!

So cheers! And may all your nights finish with a big O…

Carlisle scores 96 points!

2014 Carlisle Papa’s Block Syrah…$43.99
Remember about a month ago when we mentioned how great the 2014 Carlisle wines are going to be? Well the last 2 weeks of the Wine Spectator Insider have featured a 2014 Carlisle. Last week the 2014 Carlisle Montafi Ranch Zinfandel received a 96/100 (call 727-8788 to inquire about the last 9 bottles). This week The Wine Spectator featured the 2014 Carlisle Papa’s Block Syrah which also received 96/100. We have just over 3 cases on hand, these will go fast.
Plush and luxurious, this builds in momentum and complexity. Floral blackberry and cracked pepper aromas open to rich and full-bodied flavors of cassis and bittersweet chocolate, with a hint of citrus zest. Drink now through 2027.
Rated 96/100 The Wine Spectator
