Boundary Breaks Riesling scores 93 points

Finger Lakes Riesling!
Great Score!
2014 Boundary Breaks Riesling #198...$18.99
Pale straw with a green tint. A gorgeous, expressive nose of lemon juice, lime skin, passionfruit and wet slate introduces this wine. The palate positively sings, with delicate flesh draped across the lively and invigorating acidity. The finish starts strong and continues to build for quite some time. This wine is a star. 58 grams per liter residual sugar.
Rated 93/100 Vinous Media

2014 Boundary Breaks Riesling #239...$15.99
Though the nose is a touch reserved, this wine comes alive on the palate with an intoxicating concentration of flavor. Upon some inspection, the bouquet reveals aromas of lemon juice, sea air, golden kiwi, and flint. The palate is somehow both expressive and tight at the same time—though it clearly possesses a big personality, one gets the impression that it could further blossom with some bottle age. The acidity is striking and quite fine, chiseling through the taut, citric fruit core. The finish is endless and quite chalky. A combination of the 2013’s nose with this palate would result in my ultimate fantasy Riesling. A wine for the cellar. 8 grams per liter of residual sugar.
Rated 92+/100 Vinous Media

Diplomatico Single Vintage 2002 Rum...$81.99

43% ABV
Finished in Sherry Casks
Diplomatico Single Vintage is the result of a delicate selection of exclusive rum reserves aged from the year declared on each edition.
The rums are separately distilled in ancient copper pot stills and a batch kettle system, which gives an exceptional character, and subsequently aged in bourbon and single malt whisky casks. After the ageing process, the Maestro Ronero assembles the rum in varying proportions in order to obtain the structure, body, personality, flavours and aromas that he is looking for. At last, the rum is transferred into Spanish sherry casks to provide the perfect finish.

Growler Update

$2 off Growlers all weekend long!

Lagunitas Waldo's Special Ale
In 1971, the Waldos met one afteroon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a '66 Impala armed with a "treasure map" on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and continued their quest. They never found the secret garden....But they keep lookin'. The dankest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.
Good with Beer-battered Twinkies Con Queso…you can find out why if you google 'Waldo 420'

Civil Life German Wheat

Classic hefeweizen traits make this an easy-drinker anytime of year. Hazy golden colour with dense white foam. Complimentary banana, clove, and black pepper notes, with hints of lemongrass and orange blossom honey. Husky whole-wheat graininess, balanced sweetness with a smooth mouthfeel. Perfumey noble hops. Pairs perfectly with our soft pretzels and Dusseldorf brown mustard. Take home a growler so you can add some Civil Life German Wheat to your favourite banana bread recipe.
*Check out our recent blog post below elaborating on the world of German Wheat beers!*

Fresh, just became available in St. Louis draft only. We will not see package until July. So this is the only way you can take it home with you!
Brooklyn Brewery Lager
In the late 1800’s Brooklyn was one of the largest brewing centers in the country, home to more than 45 breweries. Lager beer in the “Vienna” style was one of the local favorites. Brooklyn Lager is amber-gold in color and displays a firm malt center supported by a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping”, the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold maturation. The result is a wonderfully flavorful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food. Dry-hopping is largely a British technique, which we’ve used in a Viennese-style beer to create an American original.

Plus new fresh --
Firestone Walker Fortem Unfiltered IPA
Unfiltered Imperial India Pale Ale

Fortem is a new-age imperial IPA that draws upon a range of influences, all while exhibiting DNA from our own forays into the IPA style. As such, it blends newer hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest and Hallertau, Germany along with pale malt, wheat malt and flaked oats for a full body and rounded mouthfeel. Fortem presents an expressive mix of aromas, including mango, blueberry, raspberry, lime zest and lychee. After time in the glass, it opens up to reveal stone fruit blossoms and mandarin oranges, finishing with just enough bitterness to encourage your next sip. Fortem has been left unfiltered for a hazy appearance and full hop impact.

Eden Mill St. Andrews Gin Hop...$31.99 / 750ml

KEY BOTANICALS: Juniper berries, Angelica, Coriander and Galaxy™ hops

Eden Mill St. Andrews Oak Aged Gin...$31.99 / 750ml

Matured with oak-aged beer casks, this gin carries hints of vanilla and toasted caramel. 42% abv.
KEY BOTANICALS: Juniper berries, Angelica, Coriander, Oak (only oak aged for a few months, they do not want the oak to be subtle like one of the botanicals)

ROBERT SINSKEY
DAYDREAM BELIEVER, VINTNER

Rob Sinskey is an atypical vintner. He is a native Californian and a wine guy who did not attend wine school. Instead, Rob received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City, where the only thing happening in agriculture was conducted in apartment closets. Over the past twenty-five years he has grown his 100% organic and Biodynamic certified winegrowing operation to over 200 acres of premium vineyards in the Carneros and Stags Leap districts of Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

It all began when a six-month assignment assisting his father turned into a twenty-five year obsession. “After a stint in advertising, I was looking for something real where I could, excuse the pun, put down roots. Then, my father called for help. His avocation in wine growing had developed into a fledgling business and he needed assistance. I think a week had passed before I discovered that his avocation had become my obsession.”
Rob’s philosophy that “Wine is not an athletic event,” still holds true to this day. The goal is to make “pure wines of character that pair well with cuisine.” Rob believes that wine should not be a “quick study,” but rather, sneak up on you, seduce you, and evolve in the glass and in the bottle.

With a solid belief that artisanal winemaking begins with the care of the land, Rob, along with winemaker Jeff Virnig, quietly converted their vineyards to organics beginning in 1991. As they honed their craft, they slowly and methodically developed biodynamic “whole farm” practices. Rob and Jeff adopted methods that not only produced wines of individuality, but also left a minimal footprint on the land. They believed in developing vineyard ecosystems with the utilization of farm animals, the development of beneficial predatory bird and animal habitat and fish friendly farming practices. Equally important, though less obvious, has been their development of a living soil system by establishing farm methods that encourage vigorous populations of microorganisms through the use of cover crops, composts, biodynamic preparations and the utilization of low impact farm implements.

Looking beyond the vineyard, Rob Sinskey and the crew of RSV have taken a leadership role in reducing their carbon footprint by generating 75% of the energy used at the winery through solar photovoltaic installations and the brewing of bio-diesel, made from used restaurant oil, to power their trucks and tractors.

Rob Sinskey believes that the goals of making luxuriously elegant wines and farming with earth friendly methods are not mutually exclusive. Rather, he has found that caring for the land and conscientious business practices have helped to define the well-crafted wines of RSV.
