Perfect for mixing and creating everything from the most classic cocktails, like an Old Fashioned, to more refreshing and modern mixes like the Torres 15 Ginger Ale.
Mahogany coloured with bright amber tones and topaz highlights. Prevailing aromas of caramel, vanilla, dates and toasted hazelnuts. Smooth on the tongue, with an elegant finish featuring touches of toffee and wood.
Torres Jaime I Familia Reserva Brandy....$129.99
Art and brandy
In the 18th century, the Torres family bought their first vineyard in the Penedès region. A century later, in 1870, the House of Torres, producer and exporter of wines was founded by Jaime Torres Vendrell. It was at this time that great works. The Casa Milá, known as "La Pedrera", currently owned by Fundació Catalunya, is the most representative building of that intensively creative period of modernism in Barcelona. In homage to the figure of Gaudí and of the innovative spirit of those men whose philosophy of a "job well done" was passed from father to son, the House of Torres created this old noblesse brandy which carries the founder’s name.
Noble dark mahogany in color. The nose offers aromas of dried fruit and nuts (toasted hazelnut) with hints of vanilla and toffee. Round and smooth on the palate. The spiced, sensual power imparted by oak aging distinguishes this very old brandy. Impressive persistence and balance.
2018 Wonderful Wine Co. Cabernet Sauvignon...$17.99

Syndicate 58/6 Blended Scotch Whisky 12 Year Old...$59.99
Compare to $109.99 at Total Wine and More (not in STL)
In 1958 a very rare blend of Scotch Malt and Grain Whiskies was discovered in 10 oak casks in The Port of Leith, Edinburgh – in a warehouse owned by William Muir Bond 9 Ltd. (Estd. 1823). The blend was originally distilled in 1954 and the blend recipe as created by Marshall Taplow Ltd. (Estd. 1760) dates back to the 1800’s.
In 1966 a small quantity of the blend which was now 12 Years Old was bottled for the enjoyment of the Directors of William Muir Bond 9 and a number of their friends. A total of six individuals were instrumental in forming what became known as Syndicate 58/6 – hence the name.
The Syndicate blend contains 18 Single Malt Whiskies and 4 Single Grain Whiskies. The quality and consistency of the blend has been maintained over the years by operating a ‘Solera’ system whereby when additional 12 year Old whiskies are added they are reblended with the older stock.
Thus the Syndicate blend still contains small quantities of the original 1958 blend. One of the things that sets the Syndicate blend apart from other blends is that it is ‘married’ and finally matured for up to 2 years in 4 year old Oloroso Sherry casks which we import from the Spanish region of Andalucia. This final marrying and maturation process serves to give the Syndicate blend its exceptionally smooth and distinctive taste.

2019 Babs Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir...$29.99
Rated 93/100 The Wine Enthusiast
(ours is a custom blend we picked up from the same barrels, so similar profile)
A four barrel blend of Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County, Babs is a collaborative effort between The Wine and Cheese Place and Pinot Noir legend Adam Lee of Clarice Wine Company and previously Siduri. Juicy red fruits dominate the nose, with subtle notes of umami and sandalwood. The palate reveals a fruitier side, with notes of bing cherry and pomegranate at the forefront. Bright acidity and minerality are balanced by partial whole cluster fermentation, and a small amount of new oak creating a long juicy finish. Fruit for the project was sourced exclusively from cooler blocks of the Sierra Madre and Peake Ranch Vineyards located in the Santa Maria and Sta. Rita Hills Appellations. A beautiful representation of central coast Pinot Noir!
This great Tuscan producer's Brunello di Montalcinos frequently scores 95 points.
The color is deep ruby red. On the nose there is classic red vibrant fruit and raspberries. Very floral. The palate is dry, sapid, with supple tannins and well balanced with a great acidity.
The Pieri family bought the Piancornello estate in 1950 and initially grew fruit to sell locally, until 1991, when they began vinifying and selling their own estate wines. Piancornello is now owned and operated by Claudio Monaci and Silvia Batazzi. An 18th-century farmhouse anchors this organically-cultivated estate in the pristine nature of Montalcino, rubbing shoulders with centuries-old olive groves and Brunello vineyards. On their 10 hectares of vineyards, Piancornello cultivates predominantly Sangiovese vines with some Ciliegiolo. Their Sangiovese clones were chosen carefully to achieve low yields and looser bunches. Piancornello’s warmer and drier climate, as compared to the neighboring Chianti region, and proximity to the Mediterranean sea (45 km away) make this a prized site for winemaking. Piancornello’s vineyards grow on moderately sloped hills in rocky, volcanic soils with southern exposures, creating full-bodied, mineral wines.

2018 Isabel Ferrando Chateauneuf du Pape Colombis...$133.99
At the risk of not being literal enough, tasting Isabel Ferrando's 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Colombis is like drinking purple flowers. Deep rose and violet notes are seamlessly joined to purple raspberries in a full-bodied wine that seems almost weightless on the palate. There's terrific inner-mouth perfume, near-ethereal tannins that support the wine's girth via a taut, gossamer structure, and a finish tinged with star anise and black cherries that just won't quit. A tour de force of pure Grenache, it should drink well for a decade, perhaps longer.
I'm not sure it's possible to lavish enough superlatives on the two red bottlings Ferrando has produced from the 2018 vintage. Yes, I said two. In addition to the all-Grenache Colombis, she has also bottled a tiny volume of an all-Cinsault cuvée that blew me away for its exotic perfumes and elegance.
Rated 97/100 The Wine Advocate
Tasted from bottle, the 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Colombis comes from a single lieu-dit and is 100% Grenache brought up all in demi-muids. I thought it could be the wine of the vintage last year, and it’s certainly not far off, offering a sensational bouquet of Provençal garrigue, ground pepper, spiced meat, and red and black fruits. Reminding me of a slightly toned-down version of the 2007, it’s full-bodied and has a beautifully layered, elegant texture, sweet tannins, and a gorgeous finish. The 2018s do not get much better than this, and this beauty can be drunk any time over the coming 15 years or more.
Rated 97/100 Jeb Dunnuck
This is a beauty, with a seductive display of Turkish coffee, singed alder, steeped plum and warmed anise aromas and flavors that move in unison, backed by a subtle garrigue note through the finish. A late echo of warm earth adds a finishing touch. Best from 2021 through 2037. — JM
