Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

A classic Mountain Cabernet at a great price!
2015 Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon....$79.99
(Anyone else remember when the 1997 Spring Mountain Reserve Cabernet scored 95 from the Wine Spectator as well? Still one of my best early wine drinking memories- Aaron Zwicker)
Sports an intense and pure beam of raspberry and cassis flavors, flanked by sage, incense and black tea aromas and backed by mouthwatering licorice snap notes and a bramble-filled finish. A beautiful example of mountain fruit.
Rated 95/100 The Wine Spectator

Update: we got to taste the 1997 today.  A long time regular bought a case from me when I worked at Rock Hill.  He decided to bring a bottle in to taste with us to see how it was ageing.  He still has 6 left in his cellar.  The wine has aged nicely - 22 year old wine! - Paul

2015 Leviathan Red Blend....MAGNUMS

2015 Leviathan Red Blend...$74.99 / Magnum

Compare to Total Wine and More's “Winery Direct” Price of $99.99
From winemaker Andy Erickson, the 2015 Leviathan is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Red Hills, Dry Creek and Carneros with Cabernet Franc from Hudson vineyard in Carneros and Syrah from Dry Creek Valley. It was aged in 25% new French oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up a compelling earthy/savory nose of tilled soil, truffles, chargrill and beef drippings with a core of warm black plums, cassis and wild blueberries plus a touch of pencil lead. Medium to full-bodied with a great structure of firm, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, it delivers bags of crunchy fruit and an herbal lift on the finish.

Rochioli Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Great wine --- great price!!!

2016 Rochioli Estate Sauvignon Blanc...$29.99
We are the lowest price on Wine-Searcher
Compare to $34.99 at Total Wine and More
If you’ve never been blown away by a California sauvignon blanc, you owe it to yourself to taste this wine. Over half of the fruit comes from an old vineyard that Joe Rochioli, Jr., planted in 1959; it’s now farmed by his son Tom. Old vines, as well as the sunny, temperate climate and stony soil along the banks of the Russian River, drew the fruit to a precise, focused intensity in 2016. You’ll find ripe, luscious flavors of papaya and peach—even redder tones of wild strawberry—tied to a profound sense of mineral depth. For all of its power, the fruit remains vivid and mouthwatering, as pure as spring water. (2,744 cases)
Rated 95/100 Wine and Spirits Magazine
This is a beautifully exotic and delicate wine with steely minerality and subdued power. Full of lemony flavor, it complementarily exudes fresh tangerine and grapefruit peel, enwrapping its nuanced fruit with floral highlights.
Rated 94/100 The Wine Enthusiast

Glenglassaugh Torfa Single Malt Scotch

Great price!!

Glenglassaugh Torfa Single Malt Scotch...$39.99
Lowest price on Wine-Searcher is $49.99
compare to $69.99 at Total Wine and More
Highly Peated
At Glenglassaugh, in addition to the traditional production, we also produce a very limited quantity of whisky using richly peated malted barley as the cereal varietal. The malted barley has been dried in the traditional way, over peat infused kilns, giving the whisky its unique smoky flavour. Glenglassaugh ‘Torfa’, with its peaty, phenolic nature, is a unique expression, and is quite different to the usual style of whisky produced in the Highlands.

Colour: Gleaming yellow gold.

Nose: Vivid, sweet, sooty campfire smoke and sea air infuses zest of lime, apricot jam and ripe soft fruits; all gently warmed by hints of stem ginger and cracked black pepper.

Palate: An eloquent, sweet coastal peat smoke engulfs candied peel over melon, pineapple and roasted red apples. Oat biscuits, hints of heather honey and a gentle cigar box spice all combine to give a terrific balance to the expressive smoky character.

Finish: A heady, yet elegant, harmony of distinct coastal peat and striking spiced fruit flavours.

Dodge City, Kansas
Boot Hill Distillery Gin is a fresh and unique take on the growing New Western Dry Gin category. Each batch of our gin is vapor distilled in 100 gallon batches, ensuring that the final product is both complex and well-balanced.
Boot Hill Gin features juniper, coriander, bitter orange peel, angelica root, orris root, licorice root, chamomile blossoms and just a tiny dash of sarsaparilla. It’s brash and smooth enough to earn the Boot Hill name.
Nose: Powerful burst of juniper up front with soft sweet hints of coriander and orange.
Neat: Bright juniper notes immediately flood the palate, with floral notes on the tail.
On the Rocks: The softer sweetness from the licorice and sarsaparilla roots and floral flavors of the gin press forward, with a citrus snap.

All of Boot Hill Distillery’s vodka is 100 percent wheat, grown on the wind-whipped plains of western Kansas by our three owners. Our vodka is pot-distilled before being run through a custom column set-up, giving it a fuller mouthfeel than you expect in vodka.
Exceedingly smooth and sweet with a wholly unique character, our vodka is much like western Kansas – simultaneously wild and civilized.
Nose: Sweet and spicy that gives way to a dense, creamy smell.
Neat: Malty and soft right up front, with a blast of black pepper heat right in the middle. Quickly finishes off clean on the palate.
On the Rocks: The initial cream flavors deepens, with a soft, malty flavor spreading across the entire palate. Peppery notes dissipate, but linger on the end.

Boot Hill Distillery Red Eye Whiskey....$13.99
Compare to Total Wine and More at $32.99 in STL

Boot Hill Distillery’s Red Eye Whiskey is a beautiful hand-crafted trail-aged, frontier-style Kansas whiskey. We take a mix of various barrel sizes and ages - a minimum of two months - that have bee shifted throughout our barrel storage space. These are then blended to recreate the style of powerful yet balanced whiskey you would have likely tasted in the 1880s when you stopped in Dodge City.

The end result is a Frontier-style Kansas whiskey with massive amounts of character. It’s so good, we were named the Best Whiskey in Kansas at the 2017 Heartland Spirits Fest in Chicago.

Nose: Prominent notes of sweet butterscotch with a delicate floral finish.
Neat: Bright wood on the front end with tons of vanilla and an unexpected spiciness. A beautiful blend of sweet and spice.
On the Rocks: Sweet grain, powerful vanilla, and soft oak across the back end.

Pure Pot-Distilled American Brandy Finished In American Craft Beer Barrels

52% Alc. By Vol. | 104 Proof

We are inspired by the imagination & fearlessness of America’s Craft Brewers.

We share their passion for their craft. We are proud to share our American Brandy barrels & share the barrels previously used to finish craft beers to refine & polish the maturation of our craft distilled American Brandy.

Our ambition is to directly infuse the character and personality of the individual beers within the American Brandy with honest authenticity. The brandy is aged for a full 12 months in beer barrels. The spirit proof entering the barrel is a full bodied +/- 130 Proof to maximize flavor extraction. Bottle proof  is chosen to maximize the craft beer flavor profiles by minimizing dilution with just a touch of water to enable the flavors to authentically bloom & soften the heat just a touch.

The brandy is unadulterated by any additives that may impact on the authentic & direct flavor from the barrels - Non-Chill Filtered - which would extract flavor, no addition of boisé - which would muddy flavors with a fake oaky profile, no caramel color - the spirit is the natural color from the barrel.

The craft beer barrels have deeply influenced the aroma & taste of the brandy with their unique profiles & personalities. They boogie.

Stephane Aviron exciting new releases

For the past 4 years I have been lucky enough to attend the Frederick Wildman Vintage Preview Burgundy Tasting, one of the few tastings I make sure to attend each year - it is a can't miss event for me. It is a rare opportunity to taste through a wide range of wines while getting insight from the producers themselves. While I cherish the chance to taste Armand Rousseau's Chambertin, being poured by Cyril Rousseau, or hear from Erwin Faiveley himself which of his Grand Cru's are standouts of the vintage, the table I always hit first is Stephane Aviron and his line up of Cru Beaujolais. Unlike the Burgundy producers, who show a lineup from Village level up to Grand Cru, Aviron has a set of wines all made in the same fashion, no one Cru is treated above the rest, it is a very straightforward set of wines that show the purity of the vintage and vineyard. The Aviron 2017's have just come in and the wines are great!- Aaron Zwicker Wine Buyer at Forsyth

Sustainability: Biodynamic Practices

2017 Stephane Aviron Chenas...$18.99
Aviron's 2017 Chénas Vieilles Vignes is showing beautifully, unfurling in the glass with a lavish bouquet of cherries, strawberries and red fruit compote. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, ripe acids and powdery, largely concealed tannins. This is an expressive, charming Chénas that's already hard to resist.
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate

Stephane Aviron St Amour...$21.99
(my personal favorite from the tasting)
Bursting with aromas of succulent red cherries and raspberries, the 2017 Saint-Amour Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with a deep and layered core, lively acids and powdery, entirely hidden tannins, concluding with a long and sapid finish. This is a decidedly serious effort from Aviron that's well worth seeking out.
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate

Stephane Aviron Morgon Cote du Py...$19.99
Aviron's 2017 Morgon Côte du Py Vieilles Vignes is showing very well, unfurling in the glass with a lovely bouquet of cherries, raspberries, smoked meats, dark chocolate and peonies. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, fine and powdery tannins and succulent acids, concluding with a nicely defined finish. This is sourced from Jean-Marc Burgaud, and it shares more than a few characteristics with his own Côte du Py bottling in this vintage.

Surly Brewing!

Surly Brewing Furious IPA...$9.99 / 6pk cans
Surly is called “Surly” due to our inability to find a good beer in town. Furious is one of the first beers we brewed to rectify that situation. The rest is history.
People ask us to describe Furious all the time. It’s not quite like any other IPA out there. We give them the flavor notes and the hop profile, but it never seems like it’s enough. What makes Furious Furious? Let’s try this: You know that feeling when you do something that pushes you to your absolute limit? And people think you’re a little off your nut for even doing it? And you kind of agree with them, but goddammit, it’s getting done? And then you fucking DO IT? And there’s no one there to see it but you and the dog so you high-five the dog?
That’s Furious.

Surly Brewing Xtra Citra Pale Ale....$7.99 / 6pk
Surly Brewing Xtra Citra Pale Ale....$14.99 / 12pk

Bursting with Citra hop flavor and tropical, citrusy notes, this sessionable pale ale showcases Surly’s bright side.
It’s called Xtra-Citra because we had extra Citra hops in the brewhouse. We made a beer with them for a one-time seasonal beer. The overwhelmingly positive response to this sessionable stunner soon made it a year-round favorite.
No, we don’t know where the “e” went.

Surly Brewing The Axeman IPA...$13.99 / 4pk 16oz cans
Double dry-hopping with Citra and Mosaic hops creates intense tropical fruit and citrus aromas. Brewed with Golden Promise malt and just a hint of haze, this beer finishes rich and dry.
Not quite a West Coast IPA, not quite a NE IPA. It was first brewed in collaboration with Amager Brewery in Denmark. Brewed with one malt, Golden Promise from the UK, with Citra and Mosaic hops. Named by Amager’s marketing director Henrik Papsø.

Surly Brewing Sleek IPA...$9.99 / 6pk cans
Purring with aromatics from hefty Simcoe dry-hopping, Sleek’s grapefruit, pine, and melon flavors race across the tongue. Dynamic hop taste. Zero drag. Sleek.

Surly Brewing Hell Lager...$6.99 / 4pk 16oz cans
Dorit Ansari is from Germany. Omar Ansari is her son. He has a brewery. She wanted a beer that reminded her of home. This is that beer.
Hell is a pale-gold lager not unlike the zwickelbiers popular in Dorit’s hometown of Bremen. It’s not filtered and it’s brewed with lager yeast. You can expect bready malt aromas and flavors, floral hops, and a balanced finish.
BTW: The name is a reference to the German word for “light”, not Satan’s nefarious kingdom, so you don’t have to sell your soul for another.
