Bushmill 16 Year Old Irish Single Malt

Bushmill 16 Year Old Irish Single Malt...$126.99
Compare to $129.99 at Total Wine and More

Buckle up. Bushmills Single Malt Whiskey 16 year old is truly one of the great whiskeys of the world. Aged for about 15 years in a combination of Oloroso Sherry and bourbon-seasoned casks, and then finished for about 9 months in port wine pipes (large barrels unique to making port wine.) This single malt shows its layers of flavor, juicy fruits, nuts and spice, as well as a hint of ruby redness. It’s best enjoyed neat. Okay, maybe one small cube of ice to open it up.

Benton's Smoky Mountain Bacon

Back in stock!!

Benton's Smoky Mountain Bacon....$13.99 / 16oz
A fresh batch of one of the smokiest bacons available
This bacon is smoked the old fashioned way for two days.

"Our hickory smoked country bacon is equally at home on a bacon, lettuce, and vine ripe tomato sandwich or on the breakfast table as it is wrapped around a premier cut of beef or a fish fillet. Hickory smoked in our smokehouse using an old-fashioned wood stove, each slice of our bacon has a distinctive full flavor that has attracted and maintained a broad spectrum of customers, from those looking for smoked bacon “the way grandpa made it” to gourmet chefs with the most distinguishing of tastes." -- Bentons

Their bacon has been featured in Gourmet Magazine, Saveur Magazine, and Southern Living Magazine.
Their bacon has been featured in Gourmet Magazine, Saveur Magazine
and here is an excerpt from Southern Living Magazine. "This is, hands down, the best bacon I've ever tasted....Benton's Smoky Mountain Hams come from a much closer source: Madisonville, Tennessee. You don't have to take my word for it though. Just ask the farmers and chefs. Some of the nation's top culinary stars make magic with Benton's hams. Local farmers bring their personal hocks to be cured by the five-man shop that competes with industry giants. The secret? They do things the slow way—using meat-curing practices thousands of years old. "Everything is done by hand," says Allan Benton, who speaks about curing ham with a passion that other men reserve for sports. Until recently, he kept his clients' addresses on yellowed sticky notes taped to the wall. "We're a hillbilly operation through and through," Allan says. And wonderfully so. The transformation from pork to perfection takes place in a smoke-stained cinder-block building on the side of a Tennessee byway. In a traditional process that's never rushed, whole hams get slathered with salt, sugar, and the family's secret spices; then they cure—for 7 to 14 months—on wooden racks. Out back, where the scent of smoking meat hangs thick in the air, Allan opens a sooty door to reveal the mysteries behind his bacon. As the fresh air clears out the little room, a tiny potbelly stove appears. "This is my smoke generator," Allan says. "I bought it for $50 from a cousin." Order now, because publicity has driven demand for Benton's products, especially the smoked bacon. Allan loves telling the story of a Vegas casino that paid hundreds of dollars for an emergency overnight shipment. But then, who knows better than a casino how to bring home the bacon?" -- Southern Living Magazine, November 2007

Midori Melon

Midori Melon Liqueur....$12.99 / 375ml
Midori Melon Liqueur’s quality and delicious taste come from the blending of the juices of premium muskmelons — which are extremely rare in Japan. Grown in only one region of Japan, they are incredibly hard to find. Because of this, they can sell for as much as US $20,000 in their first harvest. In addition to their rarity, both musk melons are cultivated in rich soils to create the tastiest melons. By extracting the essence from two different Japanese melons using two different production methods, a premium melon flavor is born.

Midori Melon Splash
2 parts Midori Melon Liqueur
1 ½ parts Maker’s Mark Bourbon
1 part lemon-lime soda
Splash of lime juice
METHOD: Pour ingredients over ice and stir gently

The Totally Unironic Return of Midori

Roughly four decades ago, a melon-flavored liqueur with an otherworldly, lurid green glow was unleashed upon New York City at disco temple Studio 54. This green Godzilla was Midori.
Previously known in Japan as Hermes Melon Liqueur, parent company Suntory renamed the liqueur for the Japanese word for “green.” It made its U.S. debut at a the launch party of Saturday Night Fever, where the film’s cast and crew quaffed brightly-hued “Japanese Gin & Tonics.”

Although it’s never gone out of stock, Midori went out of style when more “proper” cocktails came into vogue in the early aughts, replaced by classic cocktails and bitter and boozy newcomers. Today, the melon-flavored liqueur is back, showing up in serious cocktails—and not just Midori Sour riffs, either.

Midori’s comeback isn’t an overnight success story: it’s been inching back since 2012, when Suntory tweaked the neon-green liqueur to be less sweet and less artificial. “Suntory wanted to change the taste, adjusting to the modern palate in a more pleasant way,” explains Clement Reid, marketing director at Beam Suntory.

Those changes included reducing the sugar content and switching to natural flavorings (Japanese melon, muskmelon and Yubari melon), which in turn increased “favorable melon aroma/taste.” The new bottling launched globally in 2013—including in the U.S., where, in a nod to the neon green original, Midori Highballs were illuminated with glow stick stirrers at their Tales of the Cocktail debut.

Penelope Straight Toasted Rye

New limited release from Penelope TOASTED RYE
Penelope Straight Toasted Rye...$64.99
100 Proof
Our Toasted Series is a testament to the power of serendipity. When we began to explore toasted finishes, we weren’t expecting each barrel to be so different — so we decided to embrace this variety of chars and toasts that make every bottle in our Toasted Series truly one-of-a-kind.
After full maturation in charred new American oak barrels, we finished 100% straight rye whiskey in a new, freshly toasted barrel. While it can be hard to predict the flavor profile of each bottle in our Toasted Series, the deep notes of vanilla imbued by the toasting process add another dimension to our signature flavor profile. Whether you’re into a Heavy Toast or Lighter Char, our Toasted Series truly offers something for everyone.
That’s the serendipity of Penelope.

Exciting Ben Holladay news

So what is going on in all these pictures!
Some exciting Ben Holladay news!!!

In the top picture. The bottle on the left: we got a signed bottle from Kyle Merklein, the master distiller at Ben Holladay. This bottle is the sought after "16-Charlie-22" barrel.  This barrel they considered one of their original best barrels.  Whenever they wanted to showcase what they were doing, this was the barrel they went for to pull samples.  In blind tastings, it always stood out.     The bottle on the right, is our last unopened bottle of our first barrel pick.   It apparently was a "16-Charlie-22" sister barrel that we picked.  Distilled the same day, barreled the same day, same rick house and sitting right next to "16-Charlie-22" - that is why our first pick was so amazing.   Both ageing on floor 5.

The next 3 pictures, we recently picked out our next Ben Holladay BARRELS!  We picked out a traditional Ben Holladay Bourbon and a Soft Red Wheat.   Apparently we always pick top floor bourbon!!  In a blind tasting of barrels, we picked the 5th floor again on our Bourbon, it is fantastic and over 7 years old.  The Soft Red Wheat, we picked a 6th floor barrel!!
We will not see those for about 3 months.
Stay tuned for release details!!  But we for sure will give Ben Holladay supports first crack at them.

Ben Holladay is making some incredible whiskey!
Support local Missouri!

When our new barrels come in, we will for sure do a tasting with "16-Charlie-22", our first single barrel and the two new barrels.  Not sure of the details yet, but it has to happen!

Drie Fonteinen Pruim Belle De Louvain

Plum Lambic - from a special Plum variety
Drie Fonteinen Pruim Belle De Louvain...$46.99 / 750ml

For this Pruim, we used the old plum variety Belle De Louvain, hand-picked in Limburg, Belgium. Maceration took almost four months and the lambikken for both maceration and blending originate from six different barrels and thirteen different brews of which the oldest brewed end of October 2018. The weighted average age of this fruit blend is 22 months. The final proportion of fruit used is 385 grams of plums per litre of Pruim. Almost half of the cereals used originate from the Pajottenland.

Mer Soleil Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands

From the Caymus Family of wines!
2021 Mer Soleil Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands...$18.99
Compare to $19.99 at Total Wine and More
Creamy yet fresh.  This is a great balanced Chardonnay with a touch of oak and great richness and length.  The wine is balanced by lively acidity and bright citrus
Forty minutes south of Monterey, California, the Santa Lucia Highlands is known for having ideal growing conditions for Chardonnay.  Cooling breezes off of Monterey Bay enable a slower ripening of the grapes, leading to an extended growing season and wine of heightened complexity and intense flavors
Suggested food pairings from winemaker Charlie Wagner: Pan seared Chilean sea bass, sizzling crab cakes or creamy fettuccine alfredo with freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano

San Francisco
Anchor Brewing Steam Beer....$9.99 / 6pk
The Beer That Started It All
A true San Francisco icon, Steam Beer is America’s original craft beer, named for the 19th century practice of fermenting beer outdoors due to the lack of refrigeration. As legend has it, the chilly San Francisco night air naturally cooled the fermenting beer, creating the visual of steam rising from the brewery rooftop.

KC Bier Co. Rauchbock and Hop Spritz Non-Alcoholic Hop Refresher

KC Bier Co. Rauchbock Smoked Amber Lager...$11.99 / 6pk 12oz bottles
Rauchbock is a Smoked Amber Bock Lager brewed to honor the traditional Rauchbier (smoked beer) of Bamberg, Germany. Before the invention of smokeless kilns with indirect heat, maltsters used direct heat from wood-burning fires to dry their malt that would be used to make bier. The direct heat imparted a smokiness to the malt that is similar to the peated malt used in Scotch whisky. With advances in technology, most breweries around the world have gone smokeless. However, breweries in Bamberg in northern Bavaria continue to brew with Rauchmalz, aka smoked malt.
We brewed Rauchbock using smoked malt from IREKS in Kulmbach, Bavaria, in the traditional fashion of a Bockbier. It has a rich caramel malt character that is complemented by a complex yet subtle smokiness from the smoked malt. Try it with funky cheeses, grilled meats, or enjoy all on its own for a unique and delicious experience!
KC Bier Co. Hop Spritz Non-Alcoholic Hop Refresher...$9.99 / 6pk 12oz bottles

M & H Levantine Gin...$32.99
Our gin starts the same as our single malt series – 100% pure malted barley that’s mashed in-house and distilled in our pot still. Then we add a heap of Juniper and botanicals, hand-sourced from Tel Aviv's Levinsky market: origanum syriacum, lemon peel, orange, chamomile, verbena, cinnamon, and black pepper.
M&H Elements Red Wine Single Malt Whisky (Israel) 46% abv…$56.99
Ex-red wine casks that were sourced from Israel’s finest wineries were picked for this part of the Elements trilogy. The Mediterranean’s climate, variety of soil types, hot sunny days and cool nights bring a spicy and unique flavor to Israeli wine – and in turn, our casks. The wine casks used in the Elements Red Wine are a celebration of local terroir, curating a floral single malt with notes of raisins.
M&H Elements Single Malt Whisky (Israel) 46% abv…$46.99
The first commercial Single Malt Whisky by M&H. Classic single malt whisky is made using the finest ex-bourbon casks and our special red-wine STR casks, giving it a light and balanced character. Matured under the Tel Aviv sun.
M&H Elements Peated Single Malt Whisky (Israel)...$56.99
The Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. This whisky was matured in casks from Islay, that soaked in smoky aromas and salty flavors, and was then blended with ex-bourbon barrel-aged single malt. The Elements Peated integrates the fruity notes of the new make into the casks’ typical Islay peaty notes; the result is a delicate, rather mellow, and lightly peated whisky.

Rolling Fork "Fortuitous Union" Barrel Proof Rum & Rye Blend 55.3% abv
We spent years planning a product that's uniquely different from any other spirit, yet rich with the craft of Kentucky distilling. On our first batch, we got way more than we bargained for when our 12-year-old Trinidad rum—finished in Kentucky bourbon casks—was inadvertently mixed with 5-year-old cask-proof rye whiskey. While we didn't plan to blend these two wonderful spirits, the outcome was fortuitous, to say the least. This rare, specialty spirit combines the finest qualities of rum with the trusted edge of cask-proof rye whiskey.
