Mitchell's Gold Spot Generations Edition 13 Year Old

Mitchell's Gold Spot Generations Edition 13 Year Old Irish Whiskey...$299.99
The latest addition to the Gold Spot’s series is a thirteen-year aged whiskey, once again championing the use of wine casks in whiskey, transcending tradition, and demonstrating the harmonisation of heritage and innovation. The extraordinary expression marries Gold Spot’s established use of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, with a unique maturation in Valpolicella Riciotto Italian wine casks for 16 months. This final maturation elevates Gold Spot’s subtle spice notes, with the red wine adding layers of dark fruits, berry compote and creating a softly textured sweetness, finishing with a touch of oak and sweet wine. This special whiskey, the perfect balance between Irish whiskey and Italian wine, celebrates the exceptional story of seven generations of the Mitchell family, guardians of Spot Whiskey and one of Ireland’s premier wine families.
Please note, as part of our commitment to sustainable practice, Gold Spot The Generations Edition does not include outer packaging.

2019 Ducru Beaucaillou Saint Julien

300th Anniversary bottle!
Huge Scores from everyone!

2019 Ducru Beaucaillou Saint Julien...$279.99
The wine of the vintage in Saint-Julien, if not all of the Médoc, the 2019 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is based on 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, aged in 100% new French oak, that hit a natural alcohol of 14.2% with a monster IPT (number of tannins) of 88. It's certainly one of the most concentrated Saint-Juliens, revealing a dense purple hue to go with a stacked bouquet of crème de cassis, freshly sharpened pencils, damp clay, tobacco, and hints of spring flowers. Concentrated, full-bodied, and powerful, it has incredible tannins, flawless balance, and a gorgeous finish. While most estates today are playing it safe and producing more ethereal, elegant wines that drink well right out of the gate, thankfully, this estate continues to make concentrated, powerful, age-worthy wines, and this heavenly beauty is as good as it gets! It will need a decade of bottle age to hit the early stages of maturity and will evolve for 50 years or more. Bravo to Bruno Borie!
Rated 100/100 Jeb Dunnuck
Powerful and muscular, the 2019 Ducru-Beaucaillou offers up aromas of cassis, raspberries and cherries mingled with notions of violets and iris, framed by a generous application of creamy new oak. Full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's rich but lively, with a deep core of fruit and an ample endowment of ripe, powdery tannins. Fuller maturity and a more rigorous selection over the last two decades have brought what proprietor Bruno Borie characterizes as additional "punch" to this wine, in the form of unprecedented levels of anthocyanins and tannins, but all that substance and structure will require some patience before we'll see if Ducru is still Saint-Julien's most elegant wine.
Rated 96+/100 The Wine Advocate (William Kelley)
" finishing long and incredibly layered. WOW!"
Rated 97-100/100 The Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
This is so seductive on the nose, with perfumes of violets, blackcurrants, raspberries, and orange peel. Subtle. Ethereal. Full-bodied with such fine tannins and delicacy, with great length and beauty. Sophisticated and refined. Really amazing purity and depth. Great length, too. 80% cabernet sauvignon and 20% merlot. Leave this for at least five or six years.

Edradour Caledonia 12 Year Single Malt Scotch

The last load flew out of here!
6 more cases in stock now!
Edradour Caledonia...$79.99 / 700ml
Caledonia Edradour is a special single cask release, selected by songwriter Dougie Maclean and named after his famous song, Caledonia. This handmade single malt is a small batch bottling.
“I wrote Caledonia, in 1977 on a beach in Brittany, France, when I was genuinely homesick for Scotland. My life has always been based in Perthshire. For me, the location of Edradour, with its neat cluster of whitewashed buildings, traditional equipment and employment of ancient methods of making single malt whisky, combined with its state of the art bottling facility, typify Caledonia. So it is great to be joining forces with Andrew Symington and Edradour Distillery, to bring you this wonderfully rich and complex 12 year old single malt.” Dougie Maclean
At a strength of 46% ABV and unchillfiltered, Caledonia retains maximum flavour with great depth and body. Initial maturation in Bourbon casks followed by an Oloroso Finish of 4-5 years. An old fashioned whisky for those looking for how whisky used to be made.

Tasting Notes
Nose
: Sultanas and figs balanced with honey
Palate: Liquid Christmas cake, toasted almonds and just a hint of orange spice. Just a little water opens up the depth and complexity as the fruitiness and Oloroso sherried wood comes to the fore. The result of traditional, time tested distillation processes rolls over the tongue like syrup
Finish: Gently warming, spicy and dry from a time long forgotten

Introducing Redemption Sur Lee Straight Rye Whiskey. Inspired by the French winemaking process known as “Sur Lie”, Redemption Sur Lee uses a groundbreaking whiskey-making technique that has never been done before in the category. To create this first-of-its-kind innovation, we take our award-winning classic pre-Prohibition Rye mash bill and break conventional whiskey-making norms by adding the “whiskey lees” into the barrels and periodically rotating them during the aging process. The result is a deep, complex whiskey with bold, rich taste, a silky finish and a hint of rye spice.

Balcones Texas Straight Rye Whiskey Bottled-in-Bond….$45.99 / 750ml
When our Rye hit four years old, we were pleasantly surprised by the density and clarity this benchmark revealed, with darker chocolates, more acidic dried fruits, and a refreshing solvency. We have become so familiar with the dance we have learned to step in our intense Texas climate, that new plateaus of elegance and balance in our spirits are much appreciated and hard won.Our 100% Rye Mashbill began with 91% Raw Elbon Rye from Northwest Texas accompanied by cara, chocolate and roasted rye. All milled, mashed, fermented, distilled, and matured onsite in Waco, Texas.

Compass Box Crimson Casks...$62.99 / 750ml
The pinnacle of our collection, Crimson Casks delivers on the rich promise of sherry and red wine casks with intense chocolate, plum jam and redcurrant character.
Powerful, rich whiskies matured in American Oak sherry butts, precisely seasoned for a very particular wood interaction that creates a spiciness and generous intensity from the oloroso influence.Chocolate fudge cake undercut with clove and cardamom, with hints of plum jam and redcurrant jelly, then rich cherry, toffee and oak, finished with raisin, honey and brown sugar.
46% ABV, NATURAL COLOUR, NOT CHILL-FILTERED

Compass Box Nectarosity...$54.99 / 750ml
Part artistry, part alchemy, Nectarosity generously brings you honeyed fruit and toasted oak notes, straight from our Blending Room.Special American oak barrels are deployed twice. First to impart sweet spice to grain spirit, which finishes maturing in other casks. Once 'prepared', the barrels age malt whisky. We expertly blend these two characterful whiskies with selected others to dial up the fruit and toffee notes.
46% ABV, NATURAL COLOUR, NOT CHILL-FILTERED

Glen Scotia Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Victoriana...$89.99
Each cask is chosen for its rare character and exceptional maturity. Finished in deep charred oak, the result is an exceptionally smooth single malt whisky whose aroma and flavour work in harmony. Bottled in the traditional way straight from the cask and without filtration, its subtle wood and vanilla flavour is enhanced by a full bodied spicy fruit aroma and mildly smokey aftertaste.
NOSE: Dark again. An elegant nose with hints of oak driving the bouquet. Interesting creme brulee notes leading to generous caramelised fruits and finally polished oak.
PALATE: Sweet and concentrated start with some jammy blackcurrant fruitiness. A big mid palate. Typical tightening towards the back palate. Becomes more austere with water.
FINISH: Clean and initially sweet. The green bean, with cocoa characteristic.

Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill Champagne

2015 Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill Champagne...$399.99
There is a wonderful biscuity aroma to this Pinot Noir-dominated Champagne. Named after the British war-time prime minister and an avid consumer of Champagne, the wine is mature, full of ripe yeasty flavors and concentration. The wine, from a great vintage, is at a perfect stage and ready to be drunk. But the wine will also age for many years, certainly until 2030
Rated 99/100 The Wine Enthusiast
A tightly meshed Champagne, with an up-front, broad feel that's quickly reined in and well-defined by racy acidity. Creamy on the palate, with the fine mousse carrying flavors of crème de cassis, lemon-infused pastry cream, smoked almond and oyster shell. Long, harmonious finish. Drink now through 2038. 500 cases imported.
Rated 95/100 The Wine Spectator
Coming from only Grand Cru villages of Montagne de Reims and always boasting a large proportion of Pinot Noir in the cuvée, the 2015 Champagne Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill Brut displays a medium straw color and has a stunning nose that’s highly aromatic with toasted croissant, kirsch, and orange peel. With a noble structure and feel to the wine, it’s full-bodied with broad shoulders but has remarkable balance for this hot vintage. The mouthfeel is exceptional and long, with vibrant acidity, a rounded and elegant mousse, a chalky texture, and a mouthwatering finish. Given the vintage, it’s showing a more approachable side already, although it should have significant longevity ahead of it. In its youth, it’s more approachable than the 2013, and I would perhaps drink some of these now and then wait to be surprised as it holds on and likely has a wide drinking window. Drink 2024-2040. 7 grams per liter of dosage.
Rated 95/100 Jeb Dunnuck
Very complex nose with a wide spectrum of candied citrus, dried peach and mirabelle tart aromas. Bold and rich, particularly on the mid-palate, but with a great deal of subtlety and delicacy for the vintage. This is already delicious, but at the finish you really taste how this has been made for the long term. Great drive and persistence right at the end. Drink or hold.
Rated 96/100 James Suckling
A strong effort in a less-acclaimed vintage, Pol Roger's newly released 2015 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill opens in the glass with aromas of confit citrus, ripe orchard fruits and dried white flowers mingled with hints of honeycomb, freshly baked bread and anise. Medium to full-bodied, vinous and concentrated, with bright acids, chalky structuring extract and a pinpoint mousse, this inherently rather rich, gastronomic Champagne is quite tightly wound out of the gates and will reward a bit of bottle age. Stylistically, it is somewhat reminiscent of a modern-day version of the 1985.
Rated 94+/100 The Wine Advocate

The tasting line-up:

2023 La Carrodilla Sauvignon Blanc...$22.99
Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico
The 2023 is a brilliantly crisp vintage for this white from the biodynamic organic Carrodilla winery. Lighter on the tropical notes found in many of the Sauvignon Blancs from this region, here one finds more the high citrus notes of lemon and lemongrass layered in with grapefruit, white peach, fresh cut lawn and honeydew melon. This is delicious right out of the gate but will age nicely for 4 to 5 years.

2023 Monte Xanic Chenin Blanc...$19.99
Valle de Guadalupe/Valle Ojos Negros/Baja CA., Mexico
Winemaker Oscar Ganoa continues to dial in his approach to the microclimates of the holdings of Monte Xanic and use them to his advantage. The result: stunning fruit development and excellent bright acidity that is a challenge to find in this region. While not meant as a wine to age, it will hold well in your cellar for a few years at a minimum.

2023 La Carrodilla "Polen" Rose...$26.99
Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico
This dry Grenache Rose is clean and has bright with fruit notes of strawberries and watermelon, citrus. Winemaker Gustava Gonzalez graduated as a chemist at the University of Berkley and obtained his master’s degree in Enology at the University of Davis, California.

2022 Monte Xanic Merlot...$34.99
Valle de Ojos Negros/Baja CA., Mexico
Monte Xanic was founded in 1987 by Eric, Hans, Manuel, Ricardo and Tomás, all great lovers of good wine and with a common dream: to create quality Mexican wines that would position Mexico on the international oenology map. Aged 12 months in French oak barriques, the dark cherry notes are complimented with vanilla, anise, and oak.

2022 Monte Xanic "Calixa" Cabernet/Syrah...$23.99
Valle de Guadalupe/Valle de Ojos Negros/Baja CA., Mexico
A classic new-world blend of two bold grapes (80% Cabernet, 20% Syrah) showcases the Valle de Guadalupe terroir with its sun drenched vineyards and sandy granite soils. This is a bountiful wine with flavors of ripened blackberries, tart bing-cherries and a subtle floral note of violets & fragrant lilacs. Truly a delicious crowd pleaser with or without food.

2023 La Carrodilla "Canto de Luna" Red Blend...$26.99
Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, and Syrah...Raspberry jam, tobacco, freshly cut red berries, refined wood, vanilla and blackberries on the nose. Dry, amicable, franc, acidity and tannins well-balanced, medium length. With over 20 years experience in the art of making wine; Gustavo González is one of the most renowned winemakers in the American Union. From 2015 he takes over La Lomita and Finca La Carrodilla wines in the Guadalupe Valley
