Rothhaus Tannenzäpfle Pils
Rothaus Tannenzäpfle Pils...$16.99 / 6pk
The Rothaus Brewery is Germany’s highest brewery by elevation, at 1,000 meters above sea level. Situated in Germany’s beautiful Black Forest, the brewery was first established in 1791. Today, Rothaus is accredited as one of the most successful breweries in Germany, largely due to the high quality of their products.
FUN FACTS
Tannenzäpfle means “pine cone” in German – a fitting name as there are many pine cone producing spruce-fir trees in the Black Forest.
The icon, “Biergit” (beer girl), a Black Forest girl holding two glasses of beer, first debuted in 1956 and is now the defining symbol for all beers made for the Rothaus Brewery.
Tannenzäpfle Pils – Tannenzäpfle is made from the finest, all-natural ingredients Germany has to offer:
- Water sourced from 7 natural springs in the heart of the Black Forest.
- Malted barley from the Highlands and Valleys of the Black Forest.
- Aroma hops from the Tettnang and Hallertau areas next to the Black Forest.
- The yeast is cultivated at the brewery and is exclusively used in Rothaus beers.
- No bitter hops are ever added to Tannenzäpfle Pils and no other ingredients are used in brewing this deliciously refreshing Pilsner.

Compass Box The Spaniard Scotch Whisky
- Compass Box Spaniard
- Compass Box Spice Tree
- Compass Box Hedonism
Introducing our new malt whisky blend, showcasing whiskies aged in Spanish wine casks. Inspired by an eponymously named bespoke whisky we recently created for a bar in New York City called The Spaniard, we decided to explore the sherried style further to create a new whisky for our permanent range. The name is a nod to our founder’s chance encounter with a man in the South of Spain, where he was introduced to Sherry for the first time.
Bottled at 43%
Not chill filtered
Natural colour
In this, our first release, 48% of the whiskies have been aged in ex-Sherry casks and 25% in ex-Spanish red wine casks. You will find a whisky that is full, soft and sumptuous on the palate with flavours of citrus peel and pears poached in red wine and spices. It’s a whisky ideal for late evening sipping or stirring into a cocktail.
Compass Box Hedonism Scotch Whisky...$119.99
Elegant flavours of vanilla cream, toffee, coconut. Recommended as an aperitif, serve with a small amount of chilled water. Late in the evening, serve neat. Also makes a great whisky sour. Hedonism is unusual in the Scotch whisky world: a blended grain Scotch whisky. It is very rare to see 100% grain whisky bottlings, in Scotland. Going back 100 years, grain whisky brands were more common, but they were overtaken in popularity by the big brands of blended Scotch, which comprised both grain whisky and malt whisky. Today, most Scotch grain whisky gets blended into the big brand names, typically at young ages. For Hedonism, we search for old casks of Scotch grain whisky. And we only produce Hedonism once a year, when we find casks with the right flavour profile.
Big, sweet aromas of clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. The palate is full, round and sweet, with the spice and vanilla complementing the core distillery characters and leaving a long finish. Its rich, bold flavours make it most suitable for after-dinner sipping, as an accompaniment to certain cheeses, and ideal in cocktails
Planteray Cut & Dry Coconut Rum
More in stock!!!
Planteray Rum was formerly know as Plantation Rum
Ripe coconuts are harvested, cracked open and laid outside to naturally dry. The dried chunks of coconut are infused in a blend of: Barbados column still rum & Barbados pot still rum (Old Gregg). The fruit infusion is then blended with Barbados rum. The exquisite marriage of two icons of the Caribbean: Coconut and Rum!
The marriage of two quintessential Barbadian delicacies: rum and coconuts. Working with local coconut farmers, we spent four years tinkering with recipes until we landed on the perfect process. The husks of the ripe coconuts are cut and dried under the Caribbean sun, then infused in our 100% Barbadian rum, distilled at the Stade’s West Indies Rum Distillery. A true celebration of these two icons of island culture. Today, Planteray Cut & Dry is a very limited product but it will grow in sync with the increase of coconut agriculture on the island.

Introducing the Theodore Rex Ozark Highlands Whiskey Series. The Wine & Cheese Place is proud to introduce a first of its kind project in partnership with Demetrius Cain and Nobletons Distilling House. The Theodore Rex Ozark Highlands Whiskey Series is an annual selection of four single barrel whiskeys released to coincide with the changing seasons, and a fifth barreling comprising a blend of the four seasonal single barrels. The annual lineup will include: “Planting Season” (Spring), “Summer Solstice” (Summer), “The Harvester” (Autumn), “Orion’s Journey” (Winter) and “Celebration” (Holiday Blend). Ozark Highlands whiskeys have been distilled in Missouri for over 200 years, and finally won official designation in 2022 in an effort led by Demetrius. The Theodore Rex series honors the rich legacy this historic American spirit by allowing our patrons to taste its nuances through different barrelings and mash bills over the span of years.
About Theodore Rex Wines, Whiskeys, and Craft Beers from The Wine & Cheese Place
Our Theodore Rex offerings represent the best of the craftspeople who make them and the land from where they come. We launched the concept with a Pinot Noir by famed winemaker Adam Lee featuring Sonoma Coast fruit. We are following this up with Theodore Rex Ozark Highlands Bourbon as well as two craft beer releases and a Chardonnay due later in 2024. The Theodore Rex mission is simple: people, land, purpose.

Triple Cask Matured in.....
- Bourbon Casks
- New Charred Oak Casks

Rich and subtly spiced, Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve brings new dimensions to our delicious range of single malt whiskies. Inspired by the natural splendour of the Highlands to create a deep harmony of flavours, our whisky makers have married together three carefully chosen types of casks. Uniting bourbon casks and new charred oak with rye whiskey casks – rarely used in the Scotch whisky industry – this bottling abounds with notes of pear, candied orange, honeysuckle and clove.
“By uniting these three different cask types in Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve we have created a deeply harmonious whisky. Using bourbon and new charred oak, we celebrate our whisky’s classic, fruity sweetness. Laced with the savoury notes and subtle spice of rye whiskey casks, this whisky brings a new balance of flavours to our core range.”

Here too there is a background suggestion of wood surrounding the more deeply pitched nose of cassis, black raspberry liqueur, floral nuances and more prominent earth influence. The caressing, round and fleshy medium-bodied flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the complex and balanced finish where a hint of bitter cherry pit arrives

Sierra Nevada Festbier
Festbier: our kind of family tradition
This year's collaboration Oktoberfest is with Brauerei Gutmann, "founded in an old castle, in a very small village 300 years ago," says owner Michael Gutmann. That quaint German village now boasts a brewing legend — one that's family owned, just like us.
And we've been friends for years. Brauerei Gutmann even inspired us to make Kellerweis! (They are Bavarian hefeweizen specialists, after all.) But when it came to Festbier, we honored the historic style and our brewery signatures.
"When you build these beers together, they are a representation of both them and you," says Brian Grossman, Chief Brewer at Sierra Nevada.
So we used wheat malt as a nod to Gutmann, and as hop lovers, we chose a variety like Saphir for a flash of lemon. What you get is a smooth, balanced, and bright Festbier to enjoy as summer turns to fall.
