Charanda is a traditional sugar-cane distillate from the Mexican state of Michoacán (specifically around the city of Uruapan). It has a denomination/protected origin: there are rules about where and how it can be produced.
- Single varietal, agricole-style sugarcane spirit produced by the historic Pacheco family at Sol Tarasco in Uruapan, Michoacán
- Protected Denomination of Origin (PDO) Charanda
- Estate Grown
- Single sugarcane cultivated over 4,000 feet above sea level
- Milled using a 100-year-old water-powered mill
- Open-air fermented in wooden tanks, using only ambient yeast, for one to two weeks (varying by season)
- Distilled twice using 1,000-liter copper pot stills fired with biomass
- 49% ABV
Uruapan Charanda Blanco Cana Criolla...$39.99
One of the two most common sugarcanes used on the Pacheco family estate, representing approximately 35% of their crop, Caña Criolla is the oldest variety introduced by the Spanish in the 16th century and the most widely distributed across present day Mexico. It has a long lifespan, with plantings able to survive over 40 years, and offers abundant juice, but it is very vulnerable to extremes of heat and cold. Its stalks are thin, separated by 3–3.5 centimeters, and flowers bountifully for pollination.
Uruapan Charanda Blanco Cana Cristalina...$39.99
Introduced to Mexico by the Spanish, Caña Cristalina is the thickest and juiciest of the sugarcanes found in Michoacán and represents 35% of the Pacheco family’s crop. Its name stems from the fine layers of white crystal “hairs” that cover its densely clustered stalks; in beautiful contrast, the stalks themselves and their leaves are a dark hue of jade green. Hearty and weather-resistant yet easy and plentiful to extract, this sugarcane offers distinctly rich and fruit-laden spirits in distillation.
Uruapan Charanda Blanco Cana Mexicana...$39.99
Representing 15% of the estate crop, Caña Mexicana closely resembles Caña Criolla’s shading and structure but with more hues of yellow and thicker stalks that grow much more densely clustered, similar to Caña Cristalina. Full of green, grassy aromatics and herbal complexity, this is a delightful spirit to unpack at length; allow it to breathe and open over time.
Uruapan Charanda Blanco Cana Mayari...$39.99
Cana Mayari is noted for being a "spicy" flavored cane, with its juice used to create a rum that has a unique complexity.
Uruapan Charanda Blanco Cana Morada...$39.99
This is a rare varietal: “purple cane” (Caña Morada) grown in the highlands of Michoacán, Mexico.

Maxico Mistico Licor Llevame Lejos....$23.99 / 750ml
22% ABV
Crafted in Jalisco at the nexus of tradition and modern botanical extraction, Llévame Lejos is a 22% ABV ginger-turmeric spice liqueur that invites you to travel your senses. Hand-macerated roots of ginger and turmeric are individually processed and blended with coriander seeds and cardamom, delivering an aromatic profile of fresh ginger heat, warm earth, and gently sweet herbal spice. On the palate, expect crisp orange peel-like brightness, layered with coriander’s soft sweetness and a dry herbal finish that lingers with subtle complexity. Whether sipped neat over a large ice cube or used as the cornerstone for elevated cocktails—from a turmeric gimlet to a ginger-beer sparkler—Llévame Lejos stands as a refined, small-batch craft elixir for the curious palate
