A little about Pierre...
Pierre Franc de Ferrière, born in New Zealand (NZ mother, French father), moved to France at 10 months old as my parents were taking over the family vineyard in Bordeaux, in my father's family since 1937. I grew up helping on the farm and am now making the wines at the property. The vineyard is located in the eastern part of the Bordeaux region and we produce a majority of red wine, as well as white, rosé and sparkling. The vineyard size is 45 acres and we also have beef cattle. We are in the process of converting the vineyard to organic this year and will be certified for the 2021 vintage.
My partner Sheena (born in Illinois, worked 10 years in finance in NYC) and I met on the vineyard during harvest. We are now a couple and have started an French wine import business together. We spend about 4 months a year in the U.S. to develop sales and the remaining 8 months are spent on the vineyard, either pruning in the winter, working on the tractor or making wines when harvest comes.
I have a masters degree in oenology (wine doctor) and viticulture which gives me the tools to bring new ideas and knowledge to the family business, as much in the vineyard practices as well as in the making of the wines.
Our goal with Sheena is to educate the American market and introduce them to small family owned French wines at affordable prices. We have noticed a growing interest from the midwest in our wines and there is nothing more satisfying than sharing our experiences with enthusiastic people.

More about the wines
2018 Medimer Viognier....$12.99
Well-rounded, fruity and exoticShiny yellow with intense green hues. Complex and rich in aromas of large-stone fruit such as white peach and apricot. Attacks the mouth with richness and pleasant roundness.
This Viognier is grown on the Mediterranean waterfront is principally composed of two types of sediments: tertiary (sand, clay) and quaternary (gravel). Climate: Mediterranean, along with special humidity and freshness from the Étang de Thau, creating the finest white wines.

2017 Heritage Familial Cotes de Bordeaux Rouge...$15.99
2018 Heritage Familial Bordeaux Blanc...$15.99

This is a fantastic value made by a great Bordeaux Family- Franc de Ferriere. The family vineyard is located to the east of the Bordeaux wine region, about 25 minutes from Saint-Emilion. Wines of the Franc de Ferriere family originate from a unique area on the hills of the Dordogne river, giving the appellation all of its originality and grace.
Cultivating mainly Merlot and Cabernet varieties for the read and Sauvignon Blanc for the white, Wilfrid and his team do their utmost to produce quality wines reflecting the potential of our terroir.
Our philosophy and practices are constantly evolving in order to produce wines that are unique, elegant and full of flavours.

2018 Medimer Marselan Rose...$13.99
Fresh and quaffable
Marselan is a French wine grape that was first bred in 1961 - it is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache
Nice pink color with a beautiful brightness. It has a pleasantly tart, lemony nose that develops into grapefruit. Pleasant acidity, the mouth is light with good strawberry and raspberry fruit and a nice dry finish that lasts and lasts.

2018 Château Haut Claribes Bordeaux Superieur...$19.99
"Reserve" of Chateau Fontana
Premium quality selection of the most beautiful berries and the most mature from the oldest vines. This wine delivers a pretty red color, a fine nose of red fruits. On the palate, the attack is clear, the material is dense and supple. It offers a very long finish, pleasant and flowery on powerful cheeses. Great with cheese!

2017 Le Grand Valmal Cotes du Rhone Villages Vieilles Vignes...$16.99
60% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre
This Rhone is the real deal and a sensational value!
Floral notes accent fresh mixed berries in this 2017 Cotes du Rhone Villages that is made from Old Vine Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. The Syrah dominates and leads to a full-bodied wine but with silky tannins. It has a slight pepperiness to add some dimension and complexity. This wine is produced by the third generation on this estate and it is a fruit driven Cotes du Rhone with great roundness and complexity.

2017 Comte de Langeron Cote de Brouilly...$19.99
The appellation of Côte de Brouilly sits on the high slopes of the extinct volcano Mont Brouilly and is surrounded by the larger appellation of Brouilly. Cote de Brouilly is bigger and riper than regular Brouilly.
Gorgeous nose of rose petals, violets and a hint of dark roast coffee. On the palate, it has great body with a deep and generous core blueberries and ripe cherries. Drinks very well now but will age 4-8 more years. Very small production.
