The Willett family distillers brought their distilling knowledge with them from England to the American Colonies in the early 1600's. Before coming to the colonies, they had utilized their knowledge and practiced their talents for many years. They distilled brandy in France, where the family originated. Even today, this is evidenced by "Square Willette" at the foot of Montmarte in Paris. Finally, in Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky - the "Bourbon Centre" of the world - the Willett family distillers became involved with developing several of the most famous bourbon distilleries of the area and, in the early 1900's decided to build their family owned and operated distillery. The distillery they named "The Willett Distilling Company" in 1935, which has been operated by several generations of the Willett family distillers since its very beginning."

Romain has grown up with these vineyards; he is like a human compass for these vines. In 2008 Romain took over winemaking for Domaine Collet after his father suffered a stroke; one year later he started his own Domaine, Romain Collet. His inaugural vintage was 2009, and he was only 23. With his own wines, he could experiment with natural yeasts in the cellar, and was immediately taken with the results, wines of complexity, of nuance and a seamless pop of tension. He is, he’d tell you, an adherent of harmony: If there’s one thing he hates, it is wines that feel disjointed, jumbled, broken. Today, most of Romain’s parcels are certified organic by France’s Bureau Veritas; by the end of 2020 that figure will be 100%.
Are these “natural” wines? Collet applies is a small addition of sulfur during fermentation and at the bottling stage, so no, not completely. Are these some of the most delicious wines? Hell Yeah!

Husband and wife superstar duo Andy Erickson and Annie Favia are two of Napa Valley’s brightest stars—little wonder, given their backgrounds: Andy’s first winemaking job was at Newton, working with Chardonnay-producing legend John Kongsgaard, and then as Bob Levy’s assistant at Harlan, while Bond was being built. Later, he became the winemaker at Screaming Eagle, Ovid, Arietta, Dalla Valle, and, most recently, for Mayacamas. Annie’s viticultural work began with legendary grower David Abreu, where she had a hand in farming some of Napa’s greatest vineyards, like Ovid, Sloan, Bryant Family, Colgin, Harlan, Screaming Eagle, and Staglin.

Laurent-Perrier's imminently released NV Brut Grand Siècle #25 is showing beautifully, unwinding in the glass with an incipiently complex bouquet of pear, crisp stone fruit and mandarin mingled with hints of smoke, buttered toast and dried white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, with a fleshy core of fruit, terrific concentration and a racy spine of acidity, it's a deep, comparatively structured wine that will evolve beautifully in the cellar. As I've written before, this iteration is a blend of the 2008, 2007 and 2006 vintages, with 2008 lending #25 its depth and structure, 2007 contributing additional cut and 2006 additional richness. While the #25 exemplifies the seamless charm of this bottling, it's also one of the best propositions for long-term cellaring among recent renditions of Grand Siècle, and it will really reward time on cork.

Once a year Garrison Brothers releases one of the most highly-coveted bourbon whiskeys in America: Cowboy Bourbon®. Unlike our Small Batch, Cowboy comes from Dan and Donnis’ favorite barrels. These barrels are set aside for a couple of years for further maturation and the liquid is bottled at cask-strength, uncut and unfiltered. It is the ultimate ambrosia.

It takes a special barrel to create a bourbon nectar sweet enough to be enjoyed at such a high proof. The potency normally overpowers the flavor. This ain’t the case with Cowboy Bourbon – it’s so sweet, the flavor overpowers its proof. And you can thank the Texas heat for that.

But as delicious as it all sounds, make sure you proceed with caution; barrel-proof bourbon is not for everyone. It should always be savored in moderation. For something strong enough to run a car engine, the finish is incredibly smooth. It’s peppery, with a restrained current of warmth. While surprising, maybe it ought not be, as that restraint makes it ideal for summertime drinking. This stuff was heat-forged in Texas, after all.

Champagne Valentin Leflaive represents a unique interpretation of champagne and its grape varietals. Made with extreme precision, each cuvée is a veritable celebration of minerality, finesse and complexity. Brut Rosé Valentin Leflaive is composed exclusively of Pinot Noir from grand crus of Bouzy and Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims.

Vinification: This Champagne Rosé was made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes coming from Bouzy Grand Cru (90%) and Ambonnay Grand Cru (10%) in the Montagne de Reims. The base wine is from the 2014 vintage and aged for 7 months in stainless-steel vats. The reserve wine added was aged in Burgundy barrel; the barrels had been previously used to make grands crus wines from Olivier Leflaive. Following the secondary fermentation, the wine was aged for 20 months in the cellar. The final wine has a dosage of 7.0 g/L
