High West / TWCP Double Rye Single Barrel Finish....$49.99

Finsh: Double Rye aged an additional 1.4 years a barrel used to make a barrel aged Manhattan

Double Rye! - the most excitable member of the High West family - is dedicated to the cowboy in all of us. An unusual shotgun marriage of two rye whiskies from two different distilleries back east, Double Rye! combines a feisty high rye 2-year-old and a saddle smooth 16-year-old. The younger rye has a mashbill with 95% rye/5% barley malt and the older has a more typical rye mashbill with 53% rye and 37% corn. We think the extra age and increased corn adds just enough caramel sweetness and woody vanilla richness to calm the “bite” of the younger rye for a relationship that works. The resulting combination is bold, balanced, complex and perfect for mixing – we like a Double Rye! Manhattan. With a taste profile of cinnamon, clove, anise, eucalyptus buttons, evergreen “gin-like” flavors and a vibrant finish, Double Rye! is absolutely superb for sipping alone or sharing with other cowboys and good-looking strangers. High West is Utah’s first distillery since 1870 and the world’s only ski-in gastro-distillery. If you find yourself in Old Town Park City, please stop (or ski) by to visit us. We’d love to share our passions with you: the American West, our contemporary Western victuals (pronounced and often mis-spelled “vittles”) and of course, pairing all the above with our greatest passion – superb whiskey.

Just a question. Why is it 50 bucks? Rendezvous rye is almost cheaper. Even TWCP rendezvous rye was not much more. What am I missing?

Not sure why, it is just based on the price the sold it to us. Everyone that has tried it has thought that it is well worth it.

Oh I have no doubt that it's outstanding. I know they sold the company but Dave Perkins is still gonna be the master distiller. I thought that may have something to do with it. I know your price is solid and its commanding more in other states. No question Dave Perkins is one of the best.
I also had a comment. You do a lot of beer tasting and I know you have a lot more beers than whiskies. I've bought stuff without tasting it and it's went both ways. Some were great and some I poured out. I know you do have several whiskey tasting. Is there a way to taste stuff because I'm hesitant to spend 50 on some stuff. Maybe charge and give people a chance to taste them. It will pay for the bottle but maybe have an extra incentive. You show and get a chance to buy an allocated beer, whiskey. Just a thought. I wouldn't of bought the Cody whiskey but now that you have a tasting I will.
I know j don't drink peated scotch but bought a couple bottles when you had laphroaig tasting.

We actually will have this one open to taste on Saturday. We usually always have a bottle of our own barrels open to taste at our Forsyth location. You can ask when you are in, and if they have it opened we will gladly give you a taste. We plan on having a number of whiskeys open this Saturday.
