Whiskey Dave's Favorite Buys under $35

Whiskey Dave's Favorite Buys under $35

Lots of great American whiskeys out there especially in the $35 and under price range, Here are five whiskies that I’m a fan of and don’t necessarily get the love from bourbon blogs or they just fly under the radar. I’m an equal opportunity drinker but when I find great value and flavor, I will prattle on and on about them. As anyone, especially Mrs. Whiskey Dave knows, two of my favorite words are “good” and “cheap”.
Jim Beam Old Tub Bottled in Bond Bourbon...$19.99 / 750ml
Unchillfiltered
100 Proof
This release from the folks at Jim Beam is totally unfiltered other than keeping the big chunks of char out of the whiskey.. This giz5ves the whiskey a bit more complexity.Sweet oak and spice on the nose, chewy with honey, toffee on the palate and the finish is warm, spicy with a hint of grass.
-Whiskey Dave
Cask House Triple Oak Bourbon Whiskey..$22.99
45% ABV
Finished in oak and rye whiskey barrels
Our Bourbon: A smooth-drinking bourbon that we finish in Rye Whiskey barrels to give it a slightly spicy note at the end. Simply put, this is the best value-priced bourbon out there with a suggested retail price under $25. At 90 proof, it’s terrific in cocktails or just for sipping on the rocks. Distilled in Kentucky, Indiana, Colorado, Illinois and Tennessee. Includes whiskey up to 8 years old
Cask House Triple Oak Rye Whiskey....$22.99
53.5% ABV
Finished in oak and rye barrels.
Our Rye: Tastings.com gave us a silver medal and a Best Buy designation for our incredible Rye, calling it “A zesty rye that soothes with a balancing, creamy center.” We couldn’t agree more! This rye is a real treat, especially for the price! Distilled in Kentucky, Indiana, Colorado, Illinois and Tennessee. Includes whiskey up to 4 years old.
Silver Springs Sweet Rye Whiskey....$32.99
Proof 110.99
Distilled in Kentucky
Mashbill: 65% Rye * 15% Corn * 20% Malted Barley
I know you're asking… Whiskey Dave, what's a sweet rye? There is no official definition for a "sweet rye". the mash is heavier on the corn and malted barley so it has a bit less upfront spiciness. My current fave Cocktail rye...ridiculous value, 3 plus year Single Barrel Rye? Heck yeah!!

Redwood Lost Monarch Straight Whiskey 45% abv...$32.99
A blend of 4 to 12-year-old Bourbon & 3 to 5-year-old Rye
NOSE:
Complex, with clove, cinnamon, vanilla, orange citrus zest and butterscotch notes, and an intriguing hint of sandalwood.
PALATE:
Sweetness from corn and spiciness from rye combine with an almost maple syrup like flavor. Vanilla and caramel notes lead to a persistent, yet subdued peppery finish.
