Justin Timberlake's Tequila

Come in and ask for a taste, we have one in the freezer at Forsyth.

The latest edition to our over 90 Tequilas that we stock...
901 Silver Tequila 100% Blue Agave...$37.99
St. Louis is one of only 4 cities (LA, NY, and Vegas) chosen for the kick off of his new tequila. In fact, it might be the first one -- the importer is located right here in Missouri.

"Singer and native Memphian Justin Timberlake is launching his own brand of tequila called 901 in May. The recipe was originated in Jalisco, Mexico, and the brand has been in development for two years. The name is a nod to the 901-area code of Memphis.
The new line is expected to hit stores in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and St. Louis this spring, but no release date in Memphis has been set. Preliminary pricing is reported at $40 for a 750 milliliter bottle." -- The Memphis Business Journal

Southern Tier Hop Sun.....$8.99 / 6pk
Bottled 4/29/09
"Pour Hop Sun Summer Wheat Beer into a pint glass, give it a long whiff and you’ll realize that this isn’t your average wheatbeer. Filtered to a golden clarity and dry-hopped to perfection, Hop Sun is a fantastic session ale in which flavors of wheat, barley and hops commingle to a refreshing and zesty conclusion. Hints of lemon and sweet malts waft to the fore as a touch of bitterness contributes to Hop Sun’s bright finish. Enjoy Hop Sun all summer long as a perfect balance to your outdoor recreation. Flemish Sour...

Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Ale...$2.49 / 11.2oz
(seems like a good price, if it tastes good?)

"As Belgian beer lovers, you certainly know about the famous restaurant-bar in Philadelphia with the name Monk’s Café. This restaurant is known all over the USA as one of the best places to find an extensive selection of Belgian beers, and also great food cooked in Belgian beer. The owner Tom Peters is one of the many people who fell in love years ago with Belgian beer, and one of the few who had the passion and tenacity to learn all about it. He goes at least four times per year to Belgium, to emerge himself in the Belgian beer culture, to revisit his favorite bars (for example Brugge – De Garre) and restaurants (for example: ‘t Hommelhof in Watou), and to talk with as many brewers as possible. All his “Belgian” experience is translated in the concept, selection and menu of his famous restaurant. Go there
So, in 2002 he finally had the opportunity, and the courage to convince the Van Steenberge brewery to bottle its famous ‘BIOS - Vlaamse Bourgogne’ under private label for him. The Flemish Burgundy of the Van Steenberge brewery is an OLD BROWN in style, aged in oak, and is one of the oldest brews made by the brewery, at least brewed for over 300 years. Tom Peters knew the beer since long, but had always trouble to find some bottles, even in Belgium. Indeed, the beer is only brewed once a year. A final tasting of a whole line of Belgian Old Browns in the Brugs Beertje bar (Brugge) tilted the decision: this is the best Old brown ale in the world! And Tom went to the brewery to see Mr. Paul Van Steenberge and Mr. Jef Versele, the owners of the brewery." -- importer

Gulden Draak...$11.99 750ml
Gulden Draak...$4.29 / 11oz
Gulden Draak...$16.99 / 4pk
"Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "nimble" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume. Another name for this type of rich beer is: "Barley wine". You sip and enjoy this beer slowly, probably as a dessert, or as a treat you definitely deserve.
FOOD-COMBINATIONS: Dessert-beer after dinner. Or just before bed. Some like it with a cigar, others match it with chocolate.
Sealed from light in the white painted bottle, which is recycled as candle-holder. You can age the Gulden Draak for many years, just like wine." -- importer

Augustijn Abbey Ale...$9.99 / 750ml
"Full body - staying head - amber color with a spicy, malty palate that finishes very fruity with complex hoppy undertones. Extremely pleasant to drink during lenghty conversations. Brewed along a 700 year tradition!
FOOD COMBINATIONS: goes very well with spicy food (fish or meat.) The hot spicy food (Cajun, Mexican, Oriental ...) is pleasantly cooled down by this wonderful beer. The hops also help the digestion. Delicious with cheeses. You can age the Augustijn for many years, just like wine." --importer

"History: 700 years ago, in 1295, the Augustijner-abbey of Gent was created with the help of the ruling Borluut family. That's the reason why 1295 is printed on every bottle of our delicious AUGUSTIJN Abbey Ale. The origin of our Augustijn goes back to this abbey, where today only 7 monks are left. More than 20 years ago the monks licensed the recipe and the century-old yeast-string for that delicious beer to Brewery Van Steenberge, situated a few miles north of Gent in a small village, called Ertvelde." -- importer
