It seems year after year the Colene Clemens Dopp Creek Pinot Noir gets a huge score from the Wine Spectator. I admit that I often wait for the score to come out and then scoop up he remaining cases and they are gone within a day or two. Well given that we won’t see almost any 2020 Willamette Valley Pinot’s due to the terrible wildfires from that vintage I figured why wait on scores for the 2019 Dopp Creek. The wine is fantastic, the price is amazing and the scores will come, we bought all that was left, at $25.99 this is by far the best deal going in Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
2019 Colene Clemens Dopp Creek Pinot Noir....$25.99
A vibrant, fresh and delightful pinot with wild raspberries, sliced mushrooms, lemon zest, fresh herbs, violets and peppercorns on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins and bright acidity. So elegant and transparent. Fantastic value. Drink now or hold.
Rated 94/100 James Suckling
