The original Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 1770, subsequently operated under a number of different names, and produced unpeated, peated, and triple distilled single malt until its eventual closure in 1902.A SPIRIT IS BORN: On the 5th March 2015, the very first cask of single malt scotch whisky was filled. The Glasgow Distillery 1770 The Original is matured in 1st fill ex-bourbon barrels and finished for 6-9 months in virgin oak casks. This is a non-age statement whisky, but the actual age is around 4 years old.
Nose: Malty and sweet. Fruity. Mild alcohol sting. Vanilla and orchard fruits. With time more malty. Hints of cinnamon and milk chocolate. Very nice development with further time. Lovely vanilla notes and hints of tropical fruits.
Taste: Medium body. A fair bit of pepper on the palate. Malty. Chocolate. Dry-ish. Clean and fruity.

8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. “Absolutely gorgeous, complex summer refresher with enough interest to drink all year-round.” (The Beers of Wallonia). Both authors give this beer a perfect 10. We would not give it a 10 (even if we knew what that meant) but there are drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly, no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere.
How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

The foundation of BCS Gray Label Seagrass began with two groups of 19-year-old 100% Canadian Rye barrels - one with bright citrus and crisp green apple notes and the other with earthy spearmint notes. A portion of the first group was finished in Apricot Brandy casks, a portion of the second group was finished in Martinique rhum barrels, and a blend of the first and second groups was finished in Malmsey Madeira barrels. When each set of secondary maturation flavors peaked, those casks were pulled and slowly married into the final blend.

Cantos Blancos comes from San Adrián (La Rioja del Reyno), in northern Spain, where the native grapes of Tempranillo grow. Rioja is undoubtedly one of Spain’s top wine regions, with a wine growing history that goes back to Roman days. This is a young wine to enjoy in every occasion. It has an expressive nose with fruity aromas. Clean, fresh and with a pleasing finish.

TASTING NOTES Ruby red with violet hue. The nose shows varietal characters of dark berries and anise. The palate is rich and has a full up front followed by fruit and spice and a lingering finish. SOIL San Adrian is the warmest subregion of Rioja due to the warm winds from the southeast. Strongly influenced by the Mediterranean climate, summers are hot, with temperatures going up to 35ºC. Due to the warmer temperatures, the region enjoys an annual average of 2,800 hours of sunshine. The soil there also has larger proportions of silt and alluvial components, as well as ferrous clay. The vineyard sits at about 300 meters above sea level.

WINEMAKING This wine is made from 100% organic and day-harvested grapes. Vine training: Double Cordon Royat. 95% Tempranillo, 5% Viura

From a marginally cooler, damper year, the Syrah and Cabernet are already beginning to meld together. Tightly youthful and closed, this needs either advance decanting or be allowed to age for a few years. Fresh, vibrant notes of blue flowers and dark berry fruit on the nose opens out to concentrated, ripe blackberries, the vibrant kick of sloes and powerful, bitter black chocolate tannins, finishing with aromatic notes of black pepper and sweet allspice.

Domaine Trevallon - one of the classics!
Since its inception, Domaine de Trévallon has been a trailblazer for quality wine production in the South of France. In 1993 local authorities changed the regulations for grape production in the appellation of Les Beaux de Provence, lowering the permitted percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon to 20%. Domaine de Trévallon’s red is always a blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Refusing to change his style, Eloi opted to produce his wine as a Vin de Pays (Vin de Pays des Bouches du Rhône). By doing so Domaine de Trévallon, like todays “super-Tuscans”, was among the first wineries to choose to go outside local appellation rules to produce higher quality wines.

Above all, Eloi produces “natural wines” with as little human intervention as possible. He avoids excess use of technology which he believes leads to standardized, uniform wines. Eloi uses no pesticides or chemicals in the vineyards and he keeps yields below 25 hectoliters per hectare. In the winery the grapes are not de-stemmed, and only natural indigenous yeasts are used. The reds are aged in large oak foudres for 2 years , are non-filtered, and are only occasionally fined with egg whites before bottling. The reds from Trévallon are always 50% Cabernet Sauvignon & 50% Syrah.

The Emerald 1865 is a highly aromatic spirit with the weight, richness, and complexity of its forbearers. In seeking to recreate a whiskey of another time and place, we feel we have created a spirit that speaks meaningfully to its provenances; Ireland of yore, and the green hills of Oregon.  The Emerald 1865 Straight American Whiskey is made from a mash of malted barley, unmalted barley, rye, and oats. Once the grains have been harvested, they are milled and mashed before being distilled on a handmade, direct-fired alembic pot still.
Tasting Notes: Bold aroma of oats, malt, and earthy minerals. Rich, structured flavor profile, with notes of caramel, green herbs, and fresh whipped cream. The finish is long and satisfying, with a touch of spice. Aged three to six years in mixed cooperage of French and American oak barrels.
