Martini Zinfandel Gnarly Vine Monte Rosso.

2013 Louis Martini Zinfandel Gnarly Vine Monte Rosso...$37.99
An absolutely killer wine from their famous vineyard is the 2013 Gnarly Vine Zinfandel Monte Rosso Vineyard. This is no wimpy wine at 16.2% alcohol, but wow, it delivers the goods. Full-bodied, exuberant, with an opaque purple color, big, briary blackberry and black raspberry fruit, as well as some roasted herbs and grilled meats jump from the glass of this full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal, intense Zinfandel. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.

dissident 2

Deschutes 2016 The Dissident...$14.99 / 22oz
The Dissident is an Oud Bruin, a distinctive Flanders-style sour brown ale, with a heavenly aroma and flavor. Our first wild yeast beer, we use Brettanomyces and local cherries to give The Dissident its characteristic sour taste. Our stiffest brewing challenge, it must be fermented in isolation from our other beers for a full 22 months, partly in pinot and cabernet barrels. The words coddled and “worth it” come to mind.

Luponic Distortion Revolution 005

This one will be more limited than previous batches.  It will be one batch coming to St. Louis and done.  Get it before it is gone
Firestone Walker Luponic Distortion Revolution 005...$9.99 / 6pk Cans
Now in rotation: Revolution No. 005, the latest release in Firestone Walker’s Luponic Distortion revolving hop series, featuring yet another trailblazing blend of distinctive hops.
True to form, Luponic Distortion Revolution No. 005 is driven by a mix of five different hop varieties, led by an emerging American cultivar that will have hop heads rejoicing.

Fruit Bomb
While Revolution No. 004 largely detoured to the Southern Hemisphere with a selection of South African hops, Revolution No. 005 returns to the homefront with an emphasis on an emerging hop grown in Washington’s Moxee Valley.
“This hop is loaded with tropical qualities like mango, pineapple and papaya, with less of that classic American grapefruit character,” says Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “It’s really fresh and interesting.”
He adds, “I’ve been intrigued with this hop for some time, but there wasn’t a place for it in our existing beers until we launched Luponic Distortion as a revolving hop series last year. One of the first things I did was put the wheels in motion to get some contracted for a future revolution, and now here we are.”

Remixed & Reloaded
Several of the hops in Revolution No. 005 were grown in the Yakima region at Roy Farms, with whom Matt has a longtime relationship. “They are outstanding growers, and the 2016 growing season was phenomenal, so we’re really excited about what we’re working with,” he says.

In total, Revolution No. 005 includes four hops from the United States and one from Germany.

“Revolution No. 005 hearkens back to some of the earlier revolutions with a really assertive tropical fruit character, yet it has its own unique signature,” Matt says. “We threw folks a bit of a curveball with the more restrained hops in Revolution No. 004, and now we’re changing it up again. That’s the point of Luponic Distortion—to keep everyone, including ourselves, on their toes.”

SOUR RED ALE AGED IN BOURBON BARRELS

Ommegang Siren's Song

Ommegang Siren's Song....$13.99 / 4pk

We are proud to announce the release of Sirens’ Song, a dark ale brewed with figs and raisins. This is our latest limited edition offering and it’s named for the enchanting melodies that fabled sirens used to lure in weary sailors. At 9% ABV, Sirens’ Song will draw you in to explore uncharted imbibing territory.

“Belgian-style dark ales are a treat to drink,” says Innovation Manager Justin Forsythe, who developed the recipe. “Sirens’ Song is brewed with dark Belgian candi syrup to impart decadent notes of dark fruit and burnt sugar, and also brewed with raisins and figs in order to complement the rich, fruity character of this dark ale. It’s a wonderful wintertime treat, or a beer to age for years to come.”

The mahogany colored ale has a thick, creamy tan head and distinct lacing. Aromas of roasted malt and dark fruit are pronounced. The flavor begins with sweetness and caramel notes and finishes smooth with lingering hints of caramelized sugar and balanced bitterness.

Brewed with pilsner, midnight wheat, and soft red wheat malts, Sirens’ Song is hopped with noble varieties for balanced hopping. The figs and raisins used in brewing not only add to the complexity of the beer but also represent cargo lost to the sea because of the bewitching sirens’ songs.

Boulevard American Kolsch

Just arrived at Forsyth
Boulevard American Kolsch....$7.99 / 6pk Cans
American Kolsch, a new year ‘round beer was inspired by the traditional German ale from the city of Cologne (or Köln), Boulevard created a crisp, refreshing golden ale, perfect for everyday drinking.
“In a craft beer world bursting with bold, intense, high alcohol offerings, sometimes you just want an approachable, comforting, easy-drinking beer,” said Boulevard brewmaster Steven Pauwels. “We tested American Kolsch last summer in our new Beer Hall. Based on the reviews, we’re confident it will become a new staple.”
Boulevard’s brewers built the beer on a foundation of European pilsner malt and malted wheat. Pouring golden in color, the aroma of bready malt is punctuated by subtle notes of spice and mint from Saaz and Saphir hops. With a light to medium mouthfeel, American Kolsch delivers a honeyed malt sweetness that gives way to a crisp, clean finish and a touch of lingering hop flavor.

Beaujolais Tasting....

People that shop at the Forsyth location know that Aaron is a big fan of Beaujolais and Burgundy. He has been excited about the 2015 vintage Beaujolais for some time now. James Suckling just came out with some big scores on some of the 2015 Beaujolais that we have in stock now too.
Come taste them with Aaron from 3-5pm this Wednesday at our New Tasting Bar we just set up. We are still gearing up for our 35th Anniversary and will have a bunch more tastings lined up for you.

“The last three vintages for Beaujolais have been a string of home runs, but 2015 is likely to be the one that delivers the greatest impact and pleasure for most wine lovers”.-Josh Raynolds Vinous Media

Historic vintages don’t come very often in France’s Beaujolais, but winemakers are comparing the current 2015 vintage to the legendary 1947, a hot and dry year producing powerfully rich and long-lived wines.
                                                             -James Suckling

There are plenty of marvelous wines [Beaujolais] geared up to bestow an enormous amount of pleasure at prices that ensure they remain some of the greatest value wines on the planet. -Neal Martin The Wine Advocate

This just a small sample of the hyperbole describing the 2015 Beaujolais vintage. It's time to believe the hype, these wines are amazing. Come taste for yourself at our new Tatsting Bar at Forsyth. We will be pouring the following 2015 Cru Beajoulais on Wednesday February 15th from 3-5pm. As we have mentioned before we have some great events planned for our 35th Aniversary and we will be utilizing our new Tasting Bar to highlight wineries, distilleries, and much much more. See you Wednesday! -- Aaron, Forsyth Wine Manager

2015 Domaine Dupeuble Beajoulais....$15.99
The 2015 Beaujolais Côteau Belle-Vue is labeled as just "Beaujolais" in the United States and undergoes around a 2-week carbonic maceration, the grapes picked at their optimal moment. It has a pleasant dark cherry and blackcurrant-scented bouquet with an almost peaty, woodland-like aroma that lends complexity. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, nicely structured and packed full of juicy black fruit, the acidity nicely judged with a touch of salinity towards the finish. This just flows across the mouth, its harmony very appealing and it comes recommended.
Rated 90/100 The Wine Advocate

2015 Jean Marc Burgaud les Vignes de Thulon Beajoulais Villages...$13.99
Bright magenta. Very fresh and energetic on the nose, displaying fresh cherry and red berry qualities and a subtle mineral overtone. Shows very good freshness and lift on the palate, offering vivacious raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that tighten up on the back half. Shows a light touch for the vintage and closes long and taut, featuring lingering red fruit character and just a hint of dusty tannins. This wine punches well above its weight, appellation-wise.
Rated 91/100 Vinous Media

2015 Jean Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py...$16.98

Deep ruby. Heady, mineral-tinged blue fruit, spicecake and floral pastille aromas, along with hints of cola and licorice. Sappy, penetrating and sharply focused black raspberry and boysenberry flavors smoothly blend power and delicacy and pick up an allspice nuance as the wine opens up. Closes impressively long and sweet, displaying subtle tannins and echoes of exotic spices and smoky minerals.
Rated 93/100 Vinous Media

2015 Jean Paul Thevenet Morgon VV...$27.99
Brilliant magenta. Explosive red berry liqueur, incense and floral scents, along with hints of allspice and smoky minerals. Silky and seamless on the palate, offering deeply concentrated black raspberry, spicecake and violet and pastille flavors that put on weight and become sweeter with air. The balance of richness and vivacity here is extremely impressive. Closes with impressive, mineral-driven intensity and length; silky tannins sneak in late to add shape and grip. Thévenet is consistently one of the great producers of Beaujolais and in 2015 he produced one of the monuments of the vintage.
Rated 94/100 Vinous Media
Rated 94/100 James Suckling

2015 Chateau Thivin Cuvee Zaccharie....$42.99
Ripe and rich aromas of blackberries and blueberries. Tar undertones. Full-bodied, very structured and flavorful with lots of round tannins and a fruity finish. This is aged about 10 months in barrel of which about 5% is new. Needs a year or two more of bottle age before drinking but already very impressive.
Rated 95/100 James Suckling
