Scratch-Made Using Our Vodka Distilled With Blueberries & Lightly Sweetened Vinegar
Wait, isn’t a shrub what you decorate your front door with? Yes, BUT it is also an old-timey drink made from dark fruits macerated in sugar and vinegar. This sweet, yet acidic syrup was traditionally mixed with water or soda water for a flavorful refresher.
This here cocktail was inspired by the bartenders at our James Beard Award-nominated bar program at Chesapeake & Maine. This scratch-made cocktail begins with our vodka distilled with blueberries. It is then macerated with lightly sweetened balsamic and red wine vinegar to create a blueberry shrub vodka which we then blend with soda water.
The ensuing deep, burgundy-colored libation is juicy and subtly sweet from the blueberries, with a slightly sour and complex fruity character from the vinegar.
So ditch the fancy glassware, mixing equipment and enjoy cold, straight from the can!!
We were so excited about what we were tasting so we submitted it to the Los Angeles Spirits Awards 2020 and it won Best in Show in the ready-to-drink category.

Taleggio is a pungent cow's milk cheese from the Lombardy region of Italy. The cheese is cave aged and becomes quite tangy. It is thought that this may be one of the oldest soft cheeses. The cheese has a strong aroma but the flavor is fairly mild. Made from local cow’s milk, Taleggio uses five different types of mold to produce the red smear that gives it its unique look and flavor. Soft tones of fruit play in tune with a composition of mild and buttery notes, finishing with a tangy aftertaste that lingers on your palate. Pair with white or red Burgundy, Barbaresco or even a rich Chardonnay. Fantastic on a cheese board or melted into a rich sauce.

We’re an urban distillery. Located in one of Tel Aviv’s up and coming neighborhoods, M&H is a part of the city’s fabric, among entrepreneurs and innovators, makers and artisans. We built the distillery to be in our hometown, along with the beachfront, the lively markets and the architecture.
Israel’s 300 sunny days in an average year and the Mediterranean climate are our greatest advantage. Hot climate maturation means that our whisky ages rapidly, yet significantly gracefully.
