Our best unoaked Chardonnay...

2012 Travis Monterey Chardonnay...$15.99
"The 2012 Chardonnay Unoaked reveals a touch of cloudiness (common in an unfiltered wine) along with notes of poached pears, oranges and tangerines, good acidity, pure, naked, fresh flavors and medium body. Drink this delicious white wine over the next 1-2 years....one of the first to go to unoaked Chardonnay, no malolactic and bottling without filtration (no easy task). The result is a very good wine selling at a realistic price."

The unbelievable 2013 Paul Lato wines....

2013 Paul Lato Pinot Noir:
“Retasting the latest Pinots from Paul Lato... Some of the best in the region and his '13 rock.”  -Jeb Dunnuck The Wine Advocate

"One of my favorite producers in the Central Coast, Paul Lato continues to make thrilling Pinot Noirs and Syrahs that have texture, richness and depth while never seeming heavy or cumbersome. These are gorgeous wines across the board and you can’t go wrong here."

      - Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate

We have an amazing selection of 2013 Paul Lato wines in stock. These wines are sure to get huge scores in August when Jeb Dunnuck of The Wine Advocate reviews California's Central Coast. Stay ahead of the game and stock up on Paul Lato's stunning 2013's now and relax when the press comes out.

2013 Paul Lato “Matinee” Pinot Noir...$45.99
A blend of single vineyard wines, including Paderewski, Pisoni, Hillard Bruce, and Zotovich. Paul Lato's bottlings from these vineyards go for $80+. This wine overdelivers with bright red fruits, a silky texture, and a very long finish. Delicious! Get on board with the 2013 vintage for Santa Barbara, it's amazing!

2013 Paul Lato “The Contender” Pinot Noir Drum Canyon Vineyard...$85.99

Made from two suitcase clones (Swan and Calera) grown on a steep, south-facing slope in the Sta. Rita Hills, the 2013 Pinot Noir The Contender Drum Canyon Vineyard has discrete oak in its blackcurrant, black cherry, underbrush, rose petal and spice-laced bouquet. This gives way to a ripe, nicely concentrated and juicy Pinot Noir that has bright acidity and a taut, energetic texture. It's currently lacking a touch of the integration found in the other releases, yet is still beautiful. Give it a year in bottle and enjoy through 2023.
Rated 93+/100 The Wine Advocate

2013 Paul Lato “Seabiscut” Pinot Noir Zotovich Vineyard...$85.99
One of the standouts in this stacked lineup was the 2013 Pinot Noir Seabiscuit Zotovich Vineyard. Aged 16 months in 70% new French oak and the greatest Pinot Noir I've tasted from this vineyard, it offers incredible notes of cassis, raspberries, dried earth, spice and that classic saltiness that's so common from the Sta. Rita Hills. Full-bodied, layered, multi-dimensional and elegant, with perfectly integrated acidity and polished tannin, it's a fabulous Pinot Noir that will have more than a decade of longevity. Unfortunately, there were on eight barrels produced.
Rated 97+/100 The Wine Advocate

2013 Paul Lato “Suerte” Solomon Hills Vineyard...$85.99
Possibly the greatest wine to date from this incredible site that's located just south of Santa Maria, Lato's 2013 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard Suerte offers sensational levels of sweet red fruits, currants, forest floor, spring flowers and salty minerality on both the nose and palate. Sexy, seamless and elegant, with its acidity perfectly integrated into its core of sweet fruit, it doesn't put a foot wrong, has fine tannin and is already hard to resist. Nevertheless, it should be better in another 1-2 years and drink well through 2023+.
Rated 97/100 The Wine Advocate

2013 Paul Lato Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard “Lancelot”...$95.99

One of the more tight and backward efforts in the vintage, the 2013 Pinot Noir Lancelot Pisoni Vineyard has a focused, pure and edgy style in its sweet black cherry, blackberry, spring flowers and distinct wet rock-like minerality. It shows more rose petal and floral notes with air, but also closed down slightly, so give bottles another year or two in the cellar. This is a gorgeous Pinot Noir that's a solid step up from the 2012.

Baron de Ley Reserve Rioja

"Best Rioja of  2015" - Decanter

Baron de Ley Reserve Rioja...$15.99
Next lowest price in the country on Wine-Searcher is $16.95
A young business, founded in 1985, but one that was successful right from the start. Baron de Ley is based in an old fortified monastery. This Reserva has been the cornerstone of the winery since the beginning, under the guidance of chief winemaker Gonzalo Rodriguez. It reflects the warmth of the Rioja Baja, and vines grown on alluvial soils over clay, The ripe fruit is matched by 20 months in American oak. Baron de Ley set out to make Riojas in a modern style, and has continued to experiment with blends, and lesser known varieties such as Maturana Tinta.

Talley Chardonnays score big!

2013 Talley Chardonnay Rosemary's....$42.99
What I think is one of the top Chardonnay's coming from the Central Coast, the 2013 Chardonnay Estate Rosemary's Vineyard saw the same elevage as the other whites, with barrel fermenting and aging on lees for 14 months in 20% new French oak. It has drop-dead gorgeous notes of citrus rind, melon, crushed rock and hints of brioche that flow to a classic, straight, laser-focused style on the palate. While the Rincon Chardonnay has slightly more exotic qualities, this is textbook and classic Chardonnay all the way. Gorgeous.
Rated 96/100 The Wine Advocate

2013 Talley Chardonnay Oliver's...$34.99
The 2013 Chardonnay Oliver's Vineyard is brilliant and one of the more racy, steel and lively whites in the lineup. Giving up lots of citrus blossom, salt block, mineral and a touch of white flowers, it's medium-bodied, balanced and elegant, with beautiful tension and vibrancy. Completely barrel fermented and aged in 20% new French oak, it's one serious, classy Chardonnay that represents a terrific value at this quality level.
Rated 93/100 The Wine Advocate

2013 Talley Chardonnay Rincon...$37.99
Coming from loam and calcareous soils and aged on lees for 14 months in 20% new French oak, the 2013 Chardonnay Rincon Vineyard offers lots of saltiness and mineral characteristics to go with exotic green herbs, citrus and stone fruit-like aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, balanced, clean and classy, with both stunning freshness and notable length and depth of flavor, it's another terrific white from this team that will have a decade or more of longevity.
Rated 94/100 The Wine Advocate

Yeah, it's another IPA because it's what we like to do.  Made with only the most exquisite Zythos hops.  Just try it.

Paul Lato Chard scores 96!!!

2013 Paul Lato Chardonnay le Souvenir Sierra Madre Vineyard...$73.99
From a tiny 4.5-acre block in one of the oldest vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley, the 2013 Chardonnay le Souvenir Sierra Madre Vineyard saw 14 months in 55% new French oak. Medium to full-bodied, lively, full-flavored and with vibrant acidity, it offers up ample, mineral-laced notes of apple blossom, citrus, honeysuckle and classy oak. Still tight and backwards, it needs a year or so to come together and should be at its best from 2017-2023.

Great Divide 21st Anniversary American Sour

21ST ANNIVERSARY
Great Divide 21st Anniversary American Sour...$18.99 / 750ml

This American sour is a celebration of 21 years of brewing with Bold Character. This commemorative release opens up with bright, tart, kiwi and citrus notes before mellowing out with a hint of oak and subtle white wine-like character. Soured with lactobacillus and brettanomyces and aged for 9 months in wine barrels, 21st Anniversary is notably complex while retaining a delicate approachability.

Wood Hat Double Wood Bourbon...$25.99 / 375ml
This is a remarkable Double Wood Bourbon, beginning its life as our sumptuous Bourbon Rubenesque, and finished in a charred pecan barrel. The innovative use of pecan has transformed our bourbon into a phenomenal, rare spirit.

Great Divide CANS

Great Divide Lasso IPA...$8.99 / 6pk CANS
LASSO is the new frontier of India Pale Ale. Brewed with a robust roundup of Columbus, Centennial and Cascade hops, its sessionable simplicity proves bigger isn’t always better. But make no mistake – the Wild West hasn’t gone mild. That same untamed IPA spirit thrives, and we reckon this’ll go down mighty fine.
ABV.: 5%

Great Divide Colette Saison....$8.99 / 6pk CANS
"Colette is our homage to the beers that Belgian farm workers have enjoyed for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Colette is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats - a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV" -- Brewer

Great Divide Whitewater Hoppy Wheat...$8.99 / 6 pack CANS
WHITEWATER is an American wheat ale built for exploration. The bold hop profile adds complexity to this crisp, balanced ale, while hints of citrus, light floral notes, and a satisfying bitterness leave a perfect reminder of trails climbed and rapids subdued. Gracefully swaying winter wheat donates its mellow, sweet malt and golden appearance. Cool, pristine waters from ancient glaciers provide the base. 91 Point Cabirau under $20

2013 Domaine Cabirau Cotes du Roussillon...$15.99
I loved the 2013 Côtes du Roussillon from Domaine Cabirau. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Carignan that was aged mostly in tank, it offers a voluptuous, sexy personality to go with lots of kirsch and black raspberry fruit, savory herbs, pepper and dried earth. This medium to full-bodied, complex, elegant red has a core of sweet fruit, fine tannin and a great texture, all of which come together nicely on the finish. It’s already hard to resist, and I see no reason to delay gratification. These blockbuster efforts are made at the coop in Tautavel. They more than over-deliver and offer classic Roussillon flair and texture, yet back it up with solid mid-palate concentration and sound structure. Don't miss them.

Great Aussie Value!

2014 19 Crimes Red Blend...$8.99
Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Grenache and Cabernet S!auvignon
Intensity resides within each pour of this blend. The bright hues of dark berry fruits shine as the strong vanilla aroma rises from the glass. Flavors of chocolate and cedar spice are accomplices in a finish that is soft, fruity, and fresh.

New Mourvedre!

2011 Terres Falmet Mourvedre...$14.99
Yves Falmet worked for Marris Wines in Australia, Mantanzas Creek in California, and Neudorf Winery in New Zealand.    The grapes are all grown on steep hillside vineyard.
The grapes for this wine are 100% hand-harvested. The vines are all planted on a single hillside in the appellation of Saint-Chinian.  The grapes are crushed, destemmed, then undergo a long maceration in tank. This wine is vinified and aged in tank, and there is no oak ageing.
This is a deep, dark-colored wine, with beautiful black fruit aromas.  The wine is supple and sweet in the mouth, full of black cherry, plum, fruit with a smoky undertone. Silky blackberry fruit complement the round tannins in the finish. Though Mourvèdre is known for its age-worthiness, this is such an enjoyable wine now, it will be hard to resist drinking it in its youth.

New batch of Plan Pegau

Great multi vintage value from Pegau!

Plan Pegau (Multi Vintage)....$24.99
Blend of 2011, 2012, and 2013 vintages
Plan Pegau is crafted by Laurence Féraud, owner of the iconic Domaine du Pegau. Produced from estate-grown fruit planted just outside Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this distinctive, multi-vintage blend is loaded with character and reflects the hallmark personality and style of Pegau.
Great blend:  30% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Merlot, and the 20% balance a mix of old-vines Carignan, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Danlas, Alicante and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes:
This rich, meaty red captures the essence of the Southern Rhône Valley, with layers of red and dark fruit character, soft supple tannins, and complex spice notes from extended aging in small oak barrels. Offers a true and loud echo of the traditional Pegau style and profile, and is the “little brother” of the Domaine du Pegau Cuvée Réservée Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Serve With: Enjoy with game, hearty stews, and grilled meats.

Our next Angel's Envy Blend has arrived (this I believe is our fifth one)......
This batch we created the blend with the help of Cory and Karen King of Side Project Brewing and Side Project The Cellar

Angels's Envy / TWCP /  Side Project Bourbon....$41.99
“A beautiful, mouthwatering newcomer to the whiskey scene. Named for the “angel’s share,” the portion that evaporates from the barrel during the aging process, this golden amber spirit is finished in Port barrels, which explains those juicy red-fruit notes that slide into the long finish. Look for orange peel, vanilla and roasted nut flavors, too.”
Rated 98/100 The Wine Enthusiast

What’s So Sinful about Envy?
Created by Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson, Angel’s Envy is worth coveting. Aged up to 6 years in charred white oak barrels and finished in ruby port wine casks, Angel’s Envy is an artisan’s masterpiece unlike any other bourbon.

Even after being named a “Living Legend” by Wine and Spirits Magazine, Lincoln wasn’t content to rest on his laurels. He was always a malcontent. But then, you don’t spend 40 years defining the spirits industry and earn an inaugural spot in the Bourbon Hall of Fame without a few unconventional ideas. Angel’s Envy was his last, great endeavor.

Angel’s Envy is what happens when 200 years of tradition meet an independent master craftsman’s instinct to improve. It’s a total return to craft first, hand-blended batches of 8 to 12 barrels at a time. Our bourbon starts with the finest local ingredients distilled in micro-batches and aged in American oak. We personally taste every barrel throughout each step to ensure that the spirit meets Lincoln’s malcontent legacy.

This would be enough for any other premium bourbon, but Lincoln had other ideas for his creation. That’s why we finish every batch in ruby port wine casks. There’s no set time for the process. It’s only Angel’s Envy when we say it is. The ruby port wine finish adds subtle nuance without ruining the integrity of the bourbon. The end result is a rich, exceptionally smooth and rare bourbon. Sin aside, we work every day to inspire envy, even if it takes a little longer.
