Law Estate Wines. Big time red blends from Paso Robles!

These wines are incredible and received rave reviews from Jeb Dunnuck. They are very limited. In stock at Rock Hill or online for transfer.

Philipp Pfunder was assistant winemaker at Law Estate from 2016 to 2019—in 2019 he became head winemaker. He’s worked at a broad range of wineries, including Kumeu River in New Zealand, Château Angélus in Bordeaux and Screaming Eagle in Napa.

2017 Laws Estate Audacious Red...$74.99 / 750ml
Don Law's take on Priorat, age worthy, but approachable now.
Based on 35% Grenache, 32% Carignan, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in 47% new oak, the 2017 Audacious reveals a ruby hue to go with a perfumed nose of blueberries, wild strawberries, new leather, flowery incense, and herbes de Provence. Gorgeous on the palate as well, with full-bodied richness, a weightless texture, and no hard edges, it will drink brilliantly over the coming 7-8 years, if not longer. It's in the same class as the brilliant 2016 and should be snatched up by readers!
-Jeb Dunnuck  98/100
The 2017 Audacious is composed of 35% Grenache, 32% Carignan, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Syrah, aged 19 months in 47% new oak. Medium to deep ruby-purple in the glass, it's scented of cranberry sauce, Italian plums, marionberry and boysenberry with accents of blood orange, underbrush, oolong tea, pencil shavings, wild thyme and peppered meats. The medium-bodied, floral-laced palate is silky, grainy and juicy with a very long, layered finish.
Rated 94/100 The Wine Advocate

2017 Laws Estate Beguiling Red...$74.99 / 750ml
Light on its feet, but still rich and powerful. Beguiling is a perfect description!
The Grenache-dominated (there's 18% Syrah) 2017 Beguiling offers a similar ruby/plum hue as well as spicy notes of wild strawberries, blueberries, dried earth, toasted spices, and flowery incense. It's another elegant yet full-bodied, powerful wine in this lineup that's loaded with character.
-Jeb Dunnuck 97/100
The 2017 Beguiling is made up of 82% Grenache and 18% Syrah, the highest proportion of Syrah ever for this wine. The wine aged 19 months in 30% new oak. It has a medium ruby-purple color and lifted aromatics of cranberry jelly, blackberry jam, red and black currants, salami and pepper with touches of bergamot, red berries, autumn leaves, underbrush and amaro. Medium-bodied and silky, it slowly unfurls to floral and orange-tinged fruits, with a finely grained frame and juicy acidity calling you back for one more sip, finishing long and very layered. Lovely!
Rated 94/100 The Wine Advocate

2017 Laws Sagacious Red...$74.99 / 750ml
Reminiscent of wines from the Northern Rhone
Close to one-third each of Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Syrah (it's slightly Mourvèdre-heavy), the deeper ruby/plum color of the 2017 Sagacious is followed by a meaty, savory red with lots of spiced meat, dried herbs, pepper, violets, and both red and blue fruits. Rich, full-bodied, and beautifully balanced, with plenty of underlying structure, drink it any time over the coming 8-10 years. (edited)
-Jeb Dunnuck 95/100
Made up of 38% Mourvèdre, 33% Grenache and 29% Syrah aged 19 months in 40% new oak, the 2017 Sagacious has a medium to deep ruby-purple color and is youthfully mute to begin. With time in the glass, the nose blossoms to marionberries, boysenberries and cranberry preserves with accents of rhubarb, blood orange, autumn leaves, saline, cinnamon stick and amaro. Medium-bodied with dense fruit taking its time to unfurl, it has a grainy frame and juicy freshness with a long, orange- and flower-laced finish. This will benefit from another few years in bottle.

Shacksbury Cider New Classics Mixed Pack

Shacksbury Cider New Classics Mixed Pack...$21.99 / 12 pk 12oz cans

Our New Classics collection represents our tried-and-true favorites — the ciders we return to again and again, designed to delight cider enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Though they vary in style, these ciders share a commitment to slow fermentation, no added sugar and are always gluten-free.

4 x 12oz cans of Dry; 4 x 12oz cans of Rosé; 4 x 12oz cans of Vermonter

Dry
Balanced and crisp – our take on a classic dry cider. Dry is a shape-shifter, equally at home at an upscale meal as it is in your cooler. The secret to its success is our slow, cool fermentation and the blend of apples: Cider-specific varieties make for a dry, refreshing and complex cider.
5.5% ABV

Rose
Dry and crushable – made like a rosé wine. When we set out to make a rosé cider, we knew we wanted to pay homage to our friends in the winemaking world. Shacksbury Rosé earns its color from aging on Syrah and Zinfandel grape skins, which brings added tannin and flavor to this cider.
5.5% ABV

Vermonter
Cider made with gin botanicals. The Vermonter is a dry, gin botanical cider made by slowly fermenting apples and adding juniper berries. The resulting cider is homegrown but refined, with a taste of alpine meadows, spring wildflowers, and the Green Mountains themselves.

AMAZING PRESS for Marietta Cellars!

IN STOCK NOW!

Marietta helped lay the groundwork for the California Red Blend craze, which is now one of our most popular categories. They were making "Prisoner" style blends long before Orin Swift, Apothic, or Menage a Trois. They must've known they were on to something because they had the foresight to trademark the phrase "Old Vine Red"! The small, family-owned winery now led by Scot Bilbro is utilizing his family's estate vineyards in Geyserville to produce more varietal-specific wines, while still paying homage to his father Chris by creating unique blends with a supporting cast of old-world varietals. For example, the Roman Zinfandel has a touch of Barbara, and Christo, a Syrah-based red, with 4% Viognier to give the wine a Cote-Rotie feel. These wines are the epitome of QPR. Load up on them now, they will not last long!!

Marietta - Zinfandel Roman 2019...$19.98 /  750ml
The 2019 Román Zinfandel (blended with 4% Barbera and 2% Petite Sirah) has a medium ruby-purple color and gregarious scents of candied peach, wild berry preserves, orange peel and tar. The palate is deeply fruited but light on its feet with bright freshness and loads of perfume on the long finish.
-Wine Advocate 95

Marietta Cellars - Cabernet Sauvignon Arme 2018...$20.98/ 750ml
The 2018 Armé Cabernet Sauvignon is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 7% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Medium ruby-purple, it has pure, classic aromas of cassis, graphite, violets, loamy earth and tobacco. The intensely flavored palate is light on its feet with loads of juicy lift and a soft tannic frame, and it finishes long and floral. It's an incredibly elegant style, particularly at this price point!
-Wine Advocate 94

Marietta - Red Blend Christo 2018...$19.98 / 750ml
The 2018 Christo is made up of 60% Syrah, 24% Grenache, 12% Petite Sirah and 4% Viognier. Vibrant ruby-purple in color, the nose offers pure scents of crushed red, black and blue berries, tobacco, violets, tar and smoked meats. The palate is full-bodied and packed full of perfectly ripe, juicy fruit, with a grainy frame and loads of uplift on the finish.

Great value from California! Dry Creek Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, aka Fume Blanc

Dry Creek Vineyard Fume Blanc(Sauvignon Blanc)...$12.99 / 750ml

Inspired by Loire Valley whites like Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. This was Wine Spectator's Value Pick of the Week! In stock at Rock Hill or online for transfer.

Winemaker Notes:
Our 49th vintage of Fumé Blanc is a wine that emanates the classic Dry Creek Vineyard “house” style of Sauvignon Blanc. Aromatics of lime, lemon, apricot and mango leap forward from the glass with nuances of cucumber, lemongrass and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is intense and bright with grapefruit, passionfruit and white peach. Underlying minerality and hints of jasmine, fresh cut grass and jalapeño contribute to this wine’s refreshing, crisp finish.

Wine Spectator: 92 Points
Fresh and effusive, with lemongrass, lemon verbena and fresh ginger notes to complement the core of juicy lemon-lime, green apple and ruby grapefruit flavors. Juicy and mouthwatering on the vibrant finish. Drink now. —M.W.

Lo-Ball Shacksbury and Whistlepig Barrel-Aged Highball Cider

Lo-Ball Shacksbury and Whistlepig Barrel-Aged Highball Cider...$9.99 / 4pk 16oz cans

WHISTLEPIG BARREL AGED LO-BALL
The WhistlePig Barrel Aged Lo-Ball is born and raised in
Vermont. Vermonters are known as a hardy stock, relaxed and
blessed with a dry sense of humor. WP Barrel Aged Lo-Ball
is no different. This Lo-Ball is easy going with its low abv
but has good structure and a dry, spicy character you would
expect from rye barrels (or from a Vermonter). If you were
to compare it to something, it’s more of a light easy-to-drink
highball cocktail than a heavy barrel aged beer.

THE COLLAB
WhistlePig’s rye farm and distillery is right down the road
from the Shacksbury Cidery in Vermont. When we wanted to
do a limited edition barrel project, it only seemed natural to
reach out to our neighbors. WhistlePig was nice enough to
roll over a couple of their Vermont white oak barrels, used to
age their FarmStock whiskey, and we filled them up with our
cider. After imparting just the right amount of characters from
the barrels, we added a light citrus tincture to the cider and
loaded it into some crushable 16oz tall boy cans.

INGREDIENTS
Lightly oak aged hard apple cider, natural flavors

Kraken Attacks Missouri

Kraken Attacks Missouri Rum Limited Edition...$16.99 / 750ml
As dark as an eternity in Marvel Cave, the Kraken is a spiced rum blended with natural flavors and caramel color. While many "Show Me State" residents remain unconvinced, reports abound of the Kraken terrorizing float trips in the Ozarks, picking fights on the landing and crushing burnt ends in KC.
