Founders CBS

This one will be forever known as the first beer (any item) to crash our website back in the day.  That was back in 2011 when it was the hottest beer on the planet!

We are limiting it to 1 per person for now - just to give people a chance

NO LONGER ONLINE -
JUST A FEW 4 PACKS LEFT AT FORSYTH

Founders CBS Stout...$20.99 / 4pk 12oz bottles
MAPLE SYRUP BOURBON BARREL-AGED COFFEE CHOCOLATE STOUT
CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Fresh Hop Ale

More in stock and now 12 packs too!

Sierra Nevada Celebration Fresh Hop Ale...$9.99 / 6pk
Sierra Nevada Celebration Fresh Hop Ale...$17.99 / 12pk
Once we pick fresh hops, the clock starts ticking. Each year, we visit the Pacific Northwest to hand-select the best Cascade and Centennial hops, race the harvest home, and brew immediately to capture citrus, pine, and floral notes at their absolute peak — aromas and flavors for the perfect winter beer. It’s a magical time at the brewery — has been for 40 years now! — when our brewers huddle around the fermentation tanks, toasting the start of a special season. Wrapped in red, consider Celebration IPA your first present of the holidays.

Sociando Mallet Haut Medoc

2020 Sociando Mallet Haut Medoc...$44.99
This has a pretty nose with dark spices, nut shell and cedar notes with a dark fruit backbone, following through to a medium body with firm and finely polished tannins that go on and on. Refined and nicely balanced with velvety texture. Lingering and chalky finish.
Rated 94/100 James Suckling
GREAT BORDEAUX VALUE!

Isle of Harris Scottish Gin

Isle of Harris Scottish Gin....$45.99
A TRUE ISLAND SPIRIT
Our local distillers create this first gin offering from our island distillery in a small copper gin still ("The Dotach") which sits alongside her larger whisky-making sisters in the distillery's bright Spirit Hall.  Our key local ingredient is Sugar Kelp seaweed, gathered sustainably by hand from local sea-lochs, as our key botanical to express our island's unique maritime nature.  Sugar Kelp works in harmony with seven other careful chosen botanicals: Juniper, coriander seeds, cubebs, cassia bark, angelica root, bitter orange peel, and liquorice root.

We bottle Isle of Harris Gin by hand here at the distillery too, before applying the labels and closing each one with a natural cork and wood stopper.

Finally, we apply a paper seal bearing our distillery's geographical coordinates to every single bottle by hand, your guarantee of a truly Outer Hebridean gin, made in the Isle of Harris and nowhere else.

Barrell Bourbon Cask Finish: Tale of Two Islands

Barrell Bourbon Cask Finish: Tale of Two Islands...$74.99 / 750ml
In 2018 we produced the legendary Tale of Two Islands Rum: a Jamaican Rum matured in peated Islay single malt barrels. Those empty casks have been used to finish a blend of straight bourbons. The sweetness of the rum and the smokiness of the Islay casks mingle together with the underlying bourbon that continues the Tale of Two Islands.
BLEND COMPONENTS:
  • Indiana: 5, 6, & 9 years old
  • Maryland: 5 & 16years old
DERIVED MASH BILL:
  • Corn: 73%
  • Rye: 23%
  • Malted Barley: 4%
Flavor Notes
This is a classic bourbon with notes of old-fashioned donut and coconut macaron. Over time, that bourbon slowly leeched the brooding peatiness left behind in the barrel staves by smokey Islay whisky. A splash of water unlocks wild, tropical volatiles that are the calling card of Jamaica’s ester-packed rums.
Appearance
Rich mahogany.
Nose
All the hallmarks of high-rye bourbon are tinted with the smoke of Islay malt. It singes the sage, torches the marshmallow, flambés the banana, and grills the peach. Apricot and candied cherry round out the stone fruit character while coconut macaron complements the banana.
Palate
Dark chocolate, espresso and malty porter set the stage. They usher in a different side of Islay, this time its tarry, inky side. The texture is waxy with some gritty tannin that highlights its chalky mineral character. Underneath, it’s still a fruity bourbon, exhibiting notes of candied lemon peel, nectarine, and plum sauce, all enhanced by the rum that previously sat in the barrel.
Finish
The waxy texture turns greasy with clarified butter, brisket, and lemon oil. They leave behind burnt caramel, blackberry, and peppercorn.
With a splash of spring water
The fruits are tinged with pink, becoming grapefruit, watermelon, and lychee. A conga line of pineapple, papaya, and creamsicle issue forth from the rum barrel. Honeycomb and almond croissant anchor everything firmly in bourbon territory. Black licorice, rootbeer and lavender reflect back the palate’s herbal side

Leopold Bros Maryland Style Rye

Leopold Bros Maryland Style Rye...$49.99 / 750ml
The Leopold Bros Maryland Style Rye is an homage to a Pre-Prohibition regional style of whiskey making that has been lost for over fifty years. Immensely popular with Union Soldiers stationed in Washington DC during the Civil War, Maryland rye became renowned for its softer, fruitier character and its reputation only grew from there. After Prohibition, many of Maryland’s distilleries were sold off for their property value, or turned over to industrial enterprises looking to capitalize on Maryland rye’s reputation with a cheaper substitute. The last Maryland rye distillery from that era shuttered its doors in 1972. Thanks to a friendly collector, Todd Leopold was able to sample numerous bottles of real Maryland Rye Whiskey from 60+ years ago and catalogued their flavor profiles. Working from those tasting notes, the Leopold Bros’ Maryland Style Rye Whiskey is made with a mash bill of 65% rye, 15% corn, and 20% of our beloved floor malted barley. Using a variant of yeast that brought out the fruitiness of the rye, rather than its spiciness, the whiskey was pot distilled and aged five years in our Colorado dunnage warehouses. The resulting spirit is fruity and floral at its core with a soft, buttery finish that emulates the rye whiskies of Maryland’s historic past

2020 Andremily No. 9....$129.99
I loved the 2020 No 9 from barrel and this beauty does not disappoint from bottle. Based on 89% Syrah, 9% Mourvèdre, and the rest Viognier that was only 50% destemmed, it spent 22 months in 65% new French oak. A wine that demands lots of air to show at its best, it reveals a deep plum/purple hue as well as a brilliant bouquet of red, blue, and black fruits, ground pepper, iodine, crushed violets, and wild sagebrush. With incredible purity and precision aromatically, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered, concentrated mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a big, rich wine from Binns, but if anything, it shows another level of finesse and stays light on its feet and graceful. This world-class Syrah will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age and evolve nicely over the following two decades. It's clearly one of the wines of the vintage in Santa Barbara, if not one of the greatest 2020s in the state.

2021 Pax Sonoma Hillsides Syrah...$55.99
The 2021 Syrah Sonoma Hillsides is towering and statuesque in bearing from the very first taste. I don’t think I have ever tasted a Sonoma Hillsides with this much finesse, this much purity. A wine of vertical energy, the Sonoma Hillsides possesses tremendous depth from start to finish. In many vintages the Hillsides leans towards a darker expression of Syrah. The 2021, on the other hand, is marked by more of a red/purplish fruit profile, with bright floral and citrus overtones that confer freshness. Once again, Pax Mahle made one of the truly epic wines of the year. His Sonoma Hillsides has been one of the very finest wines in Northern California for a number of years now.
Rated 98/100 Vinous Media

2020 Alban Vineyards Syrah Patrina...$59.99
Bottled in January of 2023, the 2020 Syrah Patrina opens with iodine and cassis, taking time to blossom with scents of tar, blueberry candy and peppermint patty. The palate is full-bodied and highly polished with abundant, velvety tannins, bursts of mouthwatering acidity and a surprisingly ethereal finish.
Rated 94/100 The Wine Advocate

2021 Dumol Wild Mountainside Sryah Russian River...$66.99
Great fruit concentration and subtle oak spices deserve attention in this ripe, complex and nicely tannic wine. Blackberries, blueberries, rosemary and dark chocolate make a compelling combo on the palate.
Rated 95/00 The Wine Enthusiast

2018 Betz Family Winery Domaine de Pierres Syrah...$62.99

Coming from the Ancient Stones Vineyard in the Rocks region of Walla Walla, the 2018 Syrah Domaine De Pierres is 100% Syrah that was not destemmed and was brought up in a mix of small and larger barrels. Classic Rocks notes of red and blue fruits, peppered game, exotic flowers, sweet mulch, and other herbal and cedary notes define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a soft, rounded texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. While it has plenty of funkiness, it also has ample fruit as well as purity. It's approachable today yet will keep for 10-15 years.
Rated 97/100 Jeb Dunnuck
Rated 95/100 Robert Parker

2017 K Vintners "The Hidden" Syrah...$69.99

Happy to see it finer-grained than some, but equally intense. Tobacco, ash and dark fruit. Some grilled meat, too. Full-bodied with a spice, white-pepper and hunan finish. Wow is all I can say! Drink or hold.
Rated 98/100 James Suckling

2020 Andremily wines are here!

The new 2020 Anremily Wines are here, if you like Sine Qua Non, you must grab these wines while they last.
2020 Andremily Mourvedre...$129.99

Not yet bottled, the 2020 Mourvèdre, blended with 12% Syrah and 2% Viognier, is already offering incredible varietal character and expression. Made using 75% whole clusters, fruit comes from several Central Coast vineyards including Alta Mesa (Santa Barbara County), G2 (Paso Robles), Larner (Ballard Canyon) and Slide Hill (Edna Valley). It will be matured for about 21 months, with 50% in new French barriques and 600-liter demi-muids and 50% in used barriques. Deep purple-ruby in color, the nose opens slowly to loamy earth, dried lavender, mint leaves and a pure, concentrated core of cassis and baked blueberries. The palate is bursting with layer after layer of perfumed fruit. It has a fine, silky texture, alluring meaty accents, bursts of fresh acidity highlighting its perfume and a very long, layered finish. It feels very complete on the eve of its bottling, scheduled for mid-August 2022 (I tasted this on May 25, 2022).

The 2020 No. 9, still in barrel, is a blend of 89% Syrah, 9% Mourvèdre and 2% Viognier, made with 50% whole clusters. Fruit comes from several vineyards throughout the Central Coast including Slide Hill, White Hawk, Larner, Harrison-Clarke, Kimsey and Alta Mesa. It will mature for 22 months in 65% new and 35% used French barriques. Opaque ruby-purple in color, it features aromas of black olives, ground coffee, turned earth and forest floor, before unfolding to pure blueberry liqueur, cassis, licorice and violet—what alluring aromas! Full-bodied, the palate is grainy and seamless, with concentrated, floral fruits and a very long, nuanced finish. Around 850 cases and a few magnums of this powerful Syrah will be made.
