Black Infusions Gold Apricot Vodka

Black Infusions Gold Apricot Vodka...$31.99
The newest addition to the Black Infusions family. Naturally infused with dried California apricots, it's signature smooth taste is due to a unique distillation process, which includes filtration through lava rocks. In addition to being gluten-free and kosher-certified, Gold Apricot™ is made without any fake ingredients: there are absolutely no artificial sugars, flavors, colors. We bet you’ll say “that’s vodka?” and we’ll take it as a compliment.

THE PROCESS
Our distillery sits by the Deschutes River in Bend, Oregon and overlooks the Cascade Mountains, home to the purest water sources in the world. Our spirits are produced in small batches so we can ensure a quality product.

Gold Apricot begins as a gluten-free spirit base made from corn. It’s then filtered through charcoal, and again through lava rock. This step plays an integral role in achieving its signature smooth taste and long finish, as the lava rock is what holds the purity of the water.

Next, we add whole, dried California apricots and let it sit. After four to six weeks of natural infusion, the liquid is then only lightly filtered so it retains its natural flavor profile and light golden hue. Then we bottle!

That’s it. No mass production. No additives. Nothing fake. It’s the way spirits were meant to be produced.

Mark Herold - superstar wines!

The rare wines of Mark Herold. Of course, this superstar winemaker came to fame with his Merus label that he eventually sold. He is also the winemaker for Kamen wines and consults on others. This is his own label.

2015 Mark Herold Uproar Cabernet Sauvignon...$63.99
Erupting from the glass are big aromas of ripe blackberry, raspberry, boysenberry, strawberry and mocha. The subtle notes violets, sun-baked quartz and cured black olives add incredible dimension to this wine. Mouth-filling, hedonistic and head turning flavors of black and purple fruits are framed by sweet, velvety tannins. Yum! This approachable Cabernet was built to be your go to bottle any day of the week.

2014 Mark Herold Cabernet Sauvignon White Label...$189.99
Only 141 cases made
Even better is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Herold White Label, mostly Oakville fruit with a touch of Coombsville. Like his other Cabernet Sauvignons it is aged 18-20 months in 100% new oak. This is a deeper, more powerful style of Cabernet Sauvignon exhibiting notes of charcoal, burning embers, blackberry, cassis, licorice and a meaty character. Full-bodied, savory and layered, the hallmark of the 2014 vintage – delicious, early drinkability – is well presented. This should be consumed over the next 10-15+ years.
Rated 95/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Rated 94/100 The Wine Spectator

2015 Mark Herold Cabernet Sauvignon Brown Label....$91.99
Coombsville

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Coombsville) is dark, voluptuous and outrageously beautiful. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, mocha, chocolate and exotic spice all meld together in the glass. Racy and flamboyant – in the classic Mark Herold style – the 2015 is a jewel of a wine. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

All Hallow’s Eve is a time of the year when spirits can make contact with the physical world, and when magic is most potent. It is thought that we harness this magic to brew our powerful pumpkin ale. Amazing Old Vine Chablis from Importer Kermit Lynch

Amazing Old Vine Chablis from Importer Kermit Lynch
We look forward to the release of the wines of Olivier Savary and Roland Lavantureux every year and are very excited about these two amazing vintages

2017 Olivier Savary Chablis V.V...$29.99
These exquisite wines are quintessential Chablis, with unmistakable aromas of ancient crushed shells and a pronounced, racy mineral structure.
Rated 88-90 The Wine Advocate

2016 Roland Lavantureux Chablis V.V...$31.99
This young Chablis is singing right out of the gate: you’ll find generous ripe fruit, a dense, tightly knit backbone, and a full-flavored, zesty finish of citrus and stone. There is plenty of Chablis typicity, with enough body to stand up to richer fare as well as delicate seafood dishes. It’s no coincidence vigneron Arnaud Lavantureux has just been named Best Young Talent of the Chablisien by his peers-Kermit Lynch Importer

2016 Roland Lavantureux Chablis Vauprin...$38.99
Roland’s sons Arnaud and David are turning heads in Chablis and all over the world as they have taken this already very reliable domaine to new heights in record time. Among their many brilliant moves was isolating their best village parcel in their hometown of Lignorelles (a steep, southerly exposed slope) and bottling it separately to create this single-vineyard wine that shows off the potential of their terroir. They created Vauprin for their best restaurant clients in France. We were able to secure a few cases for our private clients in the USA. This is premier cru quality, folks.-Kermit Lynch Importer

2016 Roland Lavantureux Chablis Bougros Grand Cru...$84.99
The 2016 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru, which sees 20% new oak over 12 months, has one of the better aromatics amongst its peers, clean and precise with apple blossom and light peach skin notes, the new oak present but simpatico with the fruit. The palate is fresh and detailed on the entry, well balanced and yes, showing some reduction towards the finish, although it is much better handled than many of its peers.

El Enemigo - big scores!!

Argentine Cabernet Franc! Yep its a thing and we are fully on board.

Having been in the St Louis wine business for almost 20 years it has become increasingly rare that I am both thoroughly impressed and fascinated by a winery and their take on a particular varietal. Well, I can tell you having tasted the array of Cabernet Franc from Bodega Aleanna's El Enemigo Winery, Argentine Cabernet Franc is the real deal and these wines are truly world class. We have two large shipments coming in, the first of which just arrived. Stay tune for the next drop in October.

First off we have the “Entry Level” Cabernet Franc, which to my taste is as enjoyable a red wine under $30 as I have had in years. Combing the fruit and power Argentina is known for with the finesse and elegance of Cabernet Franc and just a touch of a savory note on the finish from the whole cluster pressing.

2014 Bodega Aleanna El Enemigo Cabernet Franc...$22.99
The 2014 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc is pure Cabernet Franc from Gualtallary fermented with 50% whole clusters. It felt riper than the 2013, and there are less herbal aromas and more notes from the plum-like spectrum. What I like here is the tastiness in the palate and the fine tannins, the chalky sensation that provides an almost salty finish. The palate is a lot fresher than the nose points at and the acidity is quite high. It slowly develops a note of curry, getting spicier and spicier in the glass. 35,000 bottles produced.
Rated 91/100 The Wine Advocate

Also available now is the 2010 Bodega Aleanna Gran Enemigo Cabernet Franc Agrelo. A wine that I would not hesitate to serve alongside the heavy hitters of Bordeaux and Napa Valley. This wine possesses the depth of flavor and seamless texture that make for an absolutely brilliant experience. Don't hesitate to pop the cork now this wine is open for business and drinking wonderfully.
2010 Bodega Aleanna Gran Enemigo Cabernet Franc Agrelo...$94.99
El Gran Enemigo SV Agrelo is deep purple with red highlights. Its aromas are intense and elegant. Cabernet Franc brings light notes of eucalyptus and thyme. Malbec brings notes of ripe black fruits, blackberries and black cherries. The oak aging gives a touch of chocolate and vanilla to blend. Excellent balance and elegant. This wine was made in honor of the old Pomerol style where Cabernet Franc was blended with the other Bordeaux varieties.

Blueberries Feel Pain American Wild Ale Fermented with Blueberry Juice

MALTS: Pils, Wheat, Vienna, Spelt HOPS: Nugget, Sterling SECRET INGREDIENTS: Blueberry juice, Native yeast harvested from blueberry skins
One mid-summer day, John and a group of furry cohorts we navigating through a blueberry field. Suddenly one of his furry friends, who had just gone through a difficult breakup, started bashing blueberries with a mallet. John said to the creature, "Friend, fret not for we will bring these blueberries back to the brewery and save them for you to snack on later." John put the blueberries by his desk and then forgot about them. As days turned to weeks, the blueberries began to ferment, as stuff by John's desk tends to do. As weeks turned to months, a spicy, almost peppery aromatic began wafting from the corner. Re-discovering the blueberries, John decided to try and make a beer with them. Also because he wanted to play off out like that was his plan the whole time. Now that the beer is here, we can only look back at that faithful day with joy and be thankful about that furious, furry creature.

Southern Tier Battle in four Dimensions DIPA

Southern Tier Battle in four Dimensions DIPA...$12.99 / 4pk 16oz cans
Battle in Four Dimensions has all the hallmarks of a big IPA with bright grapefruit-like aromas and flavors of Amarillo hops. It’s 8.5% abv and purposefully brewed to a moderate 30 IBU for easy crushing. We could have stopped there, but we didn’t. Crack this can open, pour it into your favorite glass and be shocked by the supernova red color from the addition of just a touch of beet juice. Into the fourth dimension we go!

Scene Five: Fighters engage in battle as a gallant attempt to rescue the captain unfolds. The story concludes in Episode 6, with “Paradox of the Powerful.”

Southern Tier Cold Press Coffee Pumking

Southern Tier Cold Press Coffee Pumking...$12.99 / 4pk

Cold press coffee is a lengthy process, but it results in a smooth coffee flavor with nutty, cocoa & chocolatey notes. Add these scrumptious tones to Pumking’s biscuity, pumpkin pie spices & you’ve got something extra special for fall.

The cold brew process creates a perfectly balanced & distinctively smooth coffee taste.

Many coffee beers are made using beans on the hot side- but not ours. A cold brew leaves behind the bitter acids and some fatty oils that can lead to a harsher, more vegetal taste transfer, and instead, highlights the roasted, comfortable coffee taste we all love. This, paired with the perfect pumpkin pie spice in our imperial Pumking ale creates the entire picture in just one sniff and sip.

Cold Press Coffee Process:
A roasted coffee bean contains many compounds that are extracted when it comes in contact with heated water (or wort in this case). Some of those compounds, including certain oils & fatty acids, are soluble only at a high temperature. During the cold brew process, coffee beans are never exposed to high temperature. At only 30 IBU, cold press brewing extracts the delicious flavor compounds (& some of the caffeine) from coffee beans, but leaves behind myriad bitter oils and biting fatty acids. These are the same bitter acids & fatty oils that surface to the top of a hot cup of coffee, and give hot-brewed coffee that familiar ‘bite’, thus the reason people attempt to soften the acidic taste with cream in their coffee.

Talley Rosemary Vineyard Pinot Noir

2013 Talley Rosemary Vineyard Pinot Noir...$56.98
Only 6 bottles available. First come, subject to confirmation
Prime drinking window. Drink 2015-2023

At the same level as the Rincon Vineyard in 2013, the beautiful 2013 Pinot Noir Rosemary's Vineyard saw a similar elevage and saw 18 months in 28% new French oak. A bigger, richer effort, it offers terrific black raspberry, raspberry, spice, rose petal and hints of minerality on the nose. Lacking a touch of the precision and focus of the Rincon effort, it makes up for it with medium to full-bodied richness, a rounded, supple, sexy texture and beautiful length. While I don't think it hits the heights of the '12, readers shouldn't miss either of these vintages and it will be great to try these two when they have some maturity.
