Side Project Derivation #8 - Release news!
The biggest beer news of the year!
Thanks to Cory, Karen and family at Side Project!
May 21st. I will send out BRC emails either Sunday May 20th or early morning on the 21st!!
No matter which method we use, people will get upset. We only have 48 bottles - and 1000s wanting them. We try to be fair and support those that support the store. If the report was printed today, basically if you spent $13 per week for the last 6 months you are eligible for a chance to get a bottle. That translates into a 6pk or 2 per week or even just 1 bottle of a nice 750ml beer per week. So for people that make the special trip to our store instead of the convenience of the grocery store, they get rewarded. I feel this is better than just letting people race to our store that have not shopped at our store or only shop our store for the rare ones (and buy all their everyday beer at the grocery store).
It will be super limited - we are getting about 48 bottles only.
This one will go based on beer support from the last 6 months before the release date.
Here is the plan -
Top 35 beer supporters will be allocated a bottle.- Then 10 bottles will go via weighted raffle to the top 100 (those that did not already get a bottle - so 36-100 will have have a chance also to purchase a bottle.). Whatever #100 spent in the last 6 months that amount will count as 1 raffle ticket and each person from 100-36 will get as many raffle tickets based on their purchases.
- Will save 3 for something later, not sure what yet.
Side Project D8
Derivation is our series of Barrel-Aged Imperial Stouts in which we brew several recipes, age them in a variety of barrels and blend them before bottling to add depth and structure to this massive style of beer.
Blend: #8 | ABV: 15%
Blend #8 is a select blend of barrel-aged stouts that were aged for 1 to 3 years before being blended and infused with coffee, coconut and vanilla.

Codigo 1530 / TWCP / Brett Hull Tequila Rosa....$55.99
Código 1530 Rosa begins with the purity of our Blanco, then rested for 1 month in an uncharred Napa Cabernet French White Oak barrel. The result is a refined spirit with a natural color as beautiful as its taste. Our Rosa has rested just long enough in our fine cabernet barrels to enrich the natural agave juice, yet not too long to prevent overpowering its delicate floral notes.
Serving Suggestions: Código 1530 Rosa is best enjoyed pure, or in a Skinny Rosa Margarita or in a fresh Rosa Martini.

Pappy Van Winkle Raffle
Pappy Van Winkle/ Buffalo Trace Antique Collection and other rare bourbons....
We have a date for the Whiskey Reward Club Raffle now ---
Monday December 11th will be the raffle (I might try to get the first emails out on Sunday Dec 10, not sure yet).
Either way the deadline for your purchases to count towards the raffle will be December 9th at 7pm.
The raffle is based on your purchases from December 1, 2016 until December 9th at 7pm
Below is the list of Bourbon that will be in the raffle. The raffle is for a chance to purchase one of these bottles.
We will start to draw names as soon as possible after the December 9th deadline.
It is a weighted raffle, for every $600 (average of $50 per month) that you spent over the last year it will count for a raffle ticket (click to read more). For ease of explaining, lets pick an easy number like 200. Say we have 200 bottles of whiskey total from the list, we will divide by 5, which is 40, of course. We will send emails out to the first 40 names picked on the first day--we cannot be responsible if you do not check your email or if your email is wrong in our system, or if you are out of town. Those people will be asked to email me back a list of their top 10 choices from the list. We will start with the first name drawn in the raffle and they can buy the highest whiskey on their list that is still available. We will go to the next person and do the same. They will have 1 day to respond. The next day we will email the next 40 and do the same thing with what is left. If you were picked on the first day, but did not respond until the second day or third day, you will still get your allocation, but you risk some of your top choices not being available anymore. If you do not respond before the end of the fifth day and the last names are drawn, you will lose your allocation and we will draw more names. I will put more details (deadlines and times) in the individual emails if your name is drawn. Again, many of these are very rare and odds are not great. Please do not email or call each day to see if your name was drawn. We will not have time to take all of these inquiries. We will do our best to get a hold of people. If somebody does not respond to emails, we will even post on the blog their first name and last initial that we are trying to track you down. Each day, I will confirm on our blog if everybody has checked in for their allocation. That is it for now....and Thank you for your loyal support.
Check the blog each morning about 9am starting December 11th, I will post the names of those that did not respond to the emails, first name and last initial.
Make sure you check your email during that time and watch the blog to see if your name is listed as not responding to the emails. The emails will come from paul@wineandcheeseplace.com - make sure you watch for that.

Only 120 bottles available
"To celebrate their 35th Anniversary, our friends at The Wine and Cheese Place gave us a very special barrel. So we made a very special sour red to go in this Groth Reserve Cabernet Barrel that then held Jefferson's whiskey. The wonderfully bright lactic acidity melds with notes of dark fruit, caramel, and oak character. Use this beer to raise a glass to our friends in craft, The Wine and Cheese Place! -- label
