Jose Antonio Garcia "Unculin"

Natural Wine!

In stock now at Forsyth!

Jose Antonio Garcia "Unculin" 2017, Bierzo....$17.99
The fruit-driven, juicy and expressive red 2017 Unculín is pure Mencía from very old vines produced in a light and refreshing style to make it easy to drink. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and had a total maceration time of some 30 days. It matured in a combination of stainless steel tanks and oak foudres for six months. It's clean and reminiscent of a northern Rhône Syrah, with floral, earthy and smoked meat aromas. The palate is round and lush, with fine tannins, very tasty flavors and good balance and freshness. Delicious!

Argentina!!!

In stock now!

2015 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc...$22.99
The 2015 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc was produced with fruit from Gualtallary, from a specific 8.8-hectare plot of the Adrianna Vineyard. It fermented in two tries with a portion of full clusters. It has a beautiful nose with plenty of spices and herbs and some Pinot-like red fruit. The palate is harmonious and balanced, with very fine tannins and a velvety texture. 21,600 bottles produced.
Rated 93/100 The Wine Advocate

2015 El Enemigo Malbec...$22.99
ermented with full clusters, the 2015 El Enemigo Malbec feels a bit closed and has a reductive personality, so decanting in advance could be a good idea. It's taken from four hectares in the Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary and was co-fermented with a bit of Cabernet Franc. This is a serious, subtle and mineral Malbec, with some austerity and a nicely textured palate. This is a serious red, only eclipsed by the Gran Enemigo bottlings. It's not really about the variety, even though it has the best Malbec grapes, as they do not have any other pure Malbec; it's mineral and precise, vertical and very fresh for 2015. 22,800 bottles produced.
Rated 93+/100 The Wine Advocate

2018 Tilia Malbec...$9.99
This has rich, ripe plum and dark-cherry aromas and flavors with a fine weave of tannins that offer a fresh, juicy resolve. Drink now. Screw cap.
Rated 90/100 James Suckling

2018 Bodegas Colome Torrontes...$13.99
Here is the Salta mountain freshness! A really enticing combination of melon, floral and a wide spectrum of delicate citrus aromas. I love the balance of juicy fruit and crisp acidity that gives the bold, long finish a lot of life. Screw cap.

Robert Mondavi!

In stock now at Forsyth

2014 Robert Mondavi Oakville Fume...$16.99
A blend of 79% Sauvignon Blanc and 21% Sémillon largely fermented in 60-gallon French oak barrels, this is a well-integrated and substantial offering of sublime texture, length and complexity. A jasmine aromas rides atop fresh, vibrant layers of Meyer lemon and nectarine, with a stony mineral element persistent on the finish.
Rated 94/100 Wine Enthusiast

2015 Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon...$49.99
I tasted the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville from tank just prior to bottling. Rich, sumptuous and inviting, the 2015 possesses remarkable depth and structure to play off the intense dark fruit. Black cherry, mocha, espresso and new leather add shades of nuance as the wine opens up in the glass. Based on this tasting, it looks like the 2015 is going to need at least a few years in bottle to be at its very best.
Rated 90-93/100 Vinous Media

2015 Robert Mondavi The Reserve Cabernet To-Kalon...$117.99
Composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Reserve features a deep garnet-purple color and wonderfully expressive nose of crème de cassis, preserved plums and black forest cake with hints of cigar boxes, aniseed, dark chocolate and forest floor. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated in the mouth, the ripe, opulent black fruit is well supported by velvety tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and spicy.
Rated 96+/100 The Wine Advocate
A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petite Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon The Reserve To Kalon Vineyard is about as perfumed, upfront and sexy as they come. Sporting a ruby/plum color and a terrific bouquet of black raspberries, cedary spice, toasty oak, flowers and incense, it hits the palate with loads of sweet fruit, an undeniable opulence, ripe tannin and a great finish. It's an approachable 2015 that's going to evolve gracefully for another two decades.
Rated 95/100 Jeb Dunnuck
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Vineyard is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Robert Mondavi of late. Sumptuous, rich and expansive, the 2015 offers tremendous fruit density and freshness, something that was especially hard to come by in this very challenging year. With its soft edges and voluptuous curves, the 2015 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this gem. Core To Kalon parcels include MacDonald, Monastery and T.
Rated 95+/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
The fifth vintage of this iconic vineyard-designate reserve comes in at 14.5% ABV and comprises 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cab Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. Although I'm inspired to write a sonnet after tasting it, I attempted to translate my notes into these succinct descriptives: Toffee-cedar and plum preserves accent the nose with an undertone of leather and coffee as teh satiny entry leads to a dustier mid-palate. Tannins wrap the tongue with fleshy dark chocolate and dense blueberry oak.
Rated 98/100 The Tasting Panel
Very complex and changing all the time with red fruit, tile, blackberries and a hint of black truffle. Full-bodied, firm and chewy with focus and reality. Firm and driven with compact and super fine tannins. Drink now or hold

Hartford Court

In stock

2018 Hartford Court Rose of Pinot Noir....$26.99
The Rosé has aromas reminiscent of tangerine, Mandarin orange, white peach and delicate floral hints. The fruit flavors lean towards ruby grapefruit and cranberry with a subtle mineral and refreshing acid component that brings complexity and a food friendly character to the wine. Enjoy our Rosé slightly under cellar temperature (52°F) for maximum complexity or chilled on a hot summer day as an aperitif.

2017 Hartford Court Chardonnay Russian River Valley...$24.99
The largest production cuvée from Hartford Court is their 2017 Chardonnay Russian River Valley. Its medium gold color is followed by a rounded, supple, textured Chardonnay that has classic notes of pineapple, white flowers, honeysuckle, and toasted spice. Rounded, fleshy, and textured on the palate, with plenty of oomph, it shows the quality of this estate beautifully.
Rated 94/100 Jeb Dunnuck

2015 Hartford Court Three Jacks Chardonnay....$61.99
From the Green Valley portion of the Russian River Valley, the 2015 Chardonnay Three Jacks Vineyard was barrel fermented and aged in a mix of new and used French oak. Mango, Meyer lemon, ripe pineapple, and hints of toast all emerge from this seriously rich, concentrated, unctuous effort. A blend of four different clones, it's a full-bodied Chardonnay that has moderate acidity, yet still stays pure, elegant, and clean, with a killer finish.
Rated 97/100 Jeb Dunnuck
2016 Hartford Court Pinot Noir Russian River Valley...$34.99
Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Hartford Court Pinot Noir Russian River Valley reveals lovely crushed black cherries, mulberries and black raspberries notions with hints of candied violets, black soil and iron ore plus a waft of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with black fruit and earthy accents supported by a firm frame of finely grained tannins and finishes with a refreshing lift. 7,500 cases produced.

Penfolds Winery

2016 Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet/Shiraz...$49.99
The personality of this warmer-vintage Bin 389 is big, bold and welcoming. Coal smoke and graphite intertwine with blackberry, cassis, woody and leafy notes. Some Chinese five spice, too. The palate is delivered with fine, sweeping and long, smooth tannins that carry a supple array of mainly blackberry and roasted-coffee flavors. Powerful yet silky, super long and smooth, building to an exceptionally tidy finish. This is an assembly of 51 per cent cabernet sauvignon and 49 per cent shiraz, sourced from Barossa Valley, Coonawarra, McLaren Vale, Padthaway and Wrattonbully. Long aging potential. Drink now or hold.
Rated 96/100 James Suckling

2016 Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon...$65.99
Youthful cabernet style here, showing plenty of blackcurrants and a tarry edge with dried plums, some raisins, mint and sweetly fragrant oak spices. The palate is very smooth and juicy. The fully ripe tannins are super fluid and open-knit, delivering a silky and approachable style. Coonawarra, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Wrattonbully, Padthaway fruit sourcing. Drink now or hold.
Rated 92/100 James Suckling

2015 Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay...$39.99
A result of a warmer-than-average spring and a cooler-than-average summer in 2015, this has a very compelling array of ripe nectarines, peaches and mangoes on the nose with hints of lemon butter and lime zest as well as bath salts. The oak is assertive but well matched by the fruit intensity. The palate's framed in fine, fresh acidity, while white-peach and yellow-grapefruit flavors run the distance with smooth build and some gentle honey and praline. This is neatly balanced, cleanly flavored and very attractive. Drink now.
Rated 94/100 James Suckling

2015 Penfolds Bin 51 Riesling...$39.99
A stunning vintage for the Eden Valley and this has beautiful aromatic purity, bathed in lime and lemon, some riper stone fruit aromas too, all wrapped in fragrant floral perfume. The palate has a striking mix of power and flesh, the concentration is impressive, it has layers and layers of powerful fruit. The finest Bin 51 to date! Drink now or cellar, tuck it away and return after 2020.
Rated 96/100 James Suckling

Grandfather Tawny Port...$99.99
The 20 year old Penfolds Grandfather Rare Tawny is a pale tawny color with a touch of brick. On the nose it is a bit spirituous and shows notes of raisins and fruit cake, some hazelnut and crème brulée. The palate shows even more nuttiness and depth along with greater freshness and acidity, though it seems drier than the Father. It finishes very long almost like a sweet oloroso or amontillado.

French Comte
Comté is an ancient cooked and pressed cheese made from raw milk. A wheel weighs about 80 lbs and measures 3 ft in diameter. Comté is made in the Jura Massif of France, a region of medium-range mountains stretching along the Swiss border north of Geneva. Montbéliarde and French Simmental cows are the only breeds authorized to produce the milk for Comté. The cows graze in vast pastures from spring to autumn, and eat local hay in the winter. All fermented feed is banned from their healthy diet.
It takes time for Comté to develop its taste. It is aged in maturing cellars for at least 4 months by law, but generally for 6-18 months or even longer. Comté is characterized by its complex aromatic richness. It is not a cheese with a uniform taste. Each wheel of Comté reveals a distinct aromatic composition that varies according the micro-region where it was produced, the local microflora, the season in which the cheese was made, the distinctive style of the cheesemaker, the cellar where it was matured… In this respect, Comté is truly a unique cheese. Rich in phosphorous, calcium, minerals and protein, Comté is a valuable food whose nutritional contents are useful in maintaining a balanced diet. Made with no additives or artificial colorants, and controlled at each level of production, Comté is a pure, healthy and natural food
