Duke "John Wayne" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Duke "John Wayne" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey...$31.99
Compare to $35.99 at Total Wine and More
Aged 5 Years
This 88-proofer is aged for a minimum of five years. The aromatics are out-of-this-world expressive, with notes of caramelized peach, marshmallow, mandarin orange, and a defined, euphoric hint of Hawaiian plumeria. The succulent palate mirrors the nose, with brown-sugared bananas Foster, cedar, and coconut. Cherry and vanilla mark the final flavors present in this liquid gold.
Rated 95/100 The Tasting Panel
Crafted by Masters, and inspired by rare bottles unearthed and preserved for over 50 years from the collection of John Wayne.
Meticulously blended to replicate and honor the tasting notes and profile preferred by John Wayne using his original recipe from 1962 and his private collection to guide flavor and aromatics. A proprietorial mash bill of predominately American bent corn with additions of rye with sixth-row barley.
Distilled and aged in Kentucky the old fashioned way, in small batches and aged in heavily charred new and hand built American Oak barrels. A unique blend of 88 proof, aged a minimum of 5 years in barrels hand selected for perfection.

MASH BILL:
  • 75% American dent corn
  • 13% Rye
  • 12% Sixth-row barley
Distilled and bottled in Owensboro, KY at O.Z. Tyler Distillery, KY-11. Blending and Distillation by Founder Chris Radomski and Master Distiller Jacob Call.

TASTING NOTES
Opens with subtle charred oak, roasted nuts, hints of vanilla, caramel, and nutmeg. Mid-palate provides warm pepper spice and toasted nuts, finishing with a deeply satisfying robust sweetness in perfect combination.

2021 Casas del Bosque - Pinot Noir ROSE...$13.99
Chile
This single vineyard Rosé is made with Pinot Noir grapes planted on the coolest, westernmost reaches of Casablanca Valley.
A very pale hue of pink. Delicately fruity with hints of strawberries, rose petals and rhubarb. Bone dry, with ample body and refreshing acidity. Ideally served at 41 – 46ºF with smoked fish, salmon ceviche, fresh goat cheese salad, vegetable tempura or sushi.

2020 Casas Del Bosque - Sauvignon Blanc Reserva...$13.99
Chile
Grapefruit and a hint of freshly cut strawberry character here. A little light after the mid-palate. Very easy and approachable. Drink now.
Rated 90/100 James Suckling

2021 Rieslingfreak - Polish Hill No.2 Riesling...$25.99
Australia
Bright, pale yellow colour, with a very attractive flowery bouquet: gardenia, dried flowers, perhaps boronia. The palate is intense and refined, crisp and linear, with lovely flowing harmony and length. Clean, soft but dry finish. A beautiful young riesling. Grapes from the Jaeschke family vineyard. Drink: 2021-2033
Rated 96/100 The Real Review
The Polish Hill River Riesling comes from a single block in the Polish Hill sub-region of the Clare Valley. John Hughes thinks this vineyard produces the best fruit of all his vineyard sources.Has some generous fruit with strident mineral notes, as well as pure lime. There’s flesh and weight to the palate. Quite fleshy and concentrated with zesty acidity. So drinkable now and will age well. Screw cap.
Rated 95/100 James Suckling

Great Cabernet Value from Argentina
2018 Almarada Uco Valley Cabernet Sauvignon...$13.99

We had such great success with Almarada's Malbec we very excited to find out that made a Cabernet. Once we tried it, we knew we had to have it in our stores. This Cabernet leans toward Bordeaux in style. Nose of blackberry, graphite and a touch of tobacco. Medium to full body with rich fruit on the pallet and some nice silky tannins on the finish.
Antonio Mas was born in Mendoza and holds a BA in Agronomy from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. He has devoted his time to study every clone from the varieties he has cultivated and vinified and is one of the leading experts in his field. In 1992 he established the first Argentinean boutique winery: Finca La Anita. Antonio was inspired by the concept of French Choteau: vineyards of great genetic and variety purity, identifying clones of every variety, and growing grapes and vinify them near the same place where they were planted, from specific plots, true single vineyards. 2018 Antinori Solaia Toscana

2018 Antinori Solaia Toscana...$359.98
Vibrant black currant, violet, vanilla and toasty oak flavors are the hallmarks of this classy red, which is succulent and balanced, with fine grip and a long, fruit-, iron- and spice-tinged aftertaste. More on the elegant side than powerful, yet this would benefit from an additional two to three years aging. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2023 through 2040. 500 cases imported. — BSRated 95/100 The Wine SpectatorThe Marchesi Antinori 2018 Solaia reveals a silky and elegant personality, and the wine steps away from some of the more robust fruit weight and dark concentration that we've seen in the past. This elegant vintage prizes fruit purity and focus with black plum, cassis, blue flower, pencil shaving and lots of sweet spice from the oak that recalls clove and toasted almond. The blend is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. The fruit is harvested at the Antinori family's Tenuta Tignanello at the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation. The percentage of Cabernet Franc used in the blend is the ultimate Solaia wild card. In this vintage, the Franc has been increased to 7%, and that number is expected to be even higher in 2019 as the vines get older and the fruit more complex. Production of Solaia is 65,000 bottles in this vintage. This is a beautiful wine, but if pressed I must admit a preference for the 2018 Tignanello (the other celebrated wine crafted at this property). The 2018 Solaia is delicious on all fronts as expected, but the 2018 Tignanello struck at my heart strings. Either way, these are stunning results.Rated 97+/100 The Wine AdvocateVery aromatic and lively on the nose with currants, fresh herbs, white pepper and cherry blossoms. Full-bodied with a vertical, multilayered structure and ultra fine tannins. Velvety texture. Extremely long and focused. Complex and succulent. This is the smallest production of Solaia ever. Great length. This is a beautifully complex red that’s open now, but needs another three to four years to show even more of its excellence.Rated 97/100 James SucklingThe 2018 Solaia continues to develop beautifully. Resonant and ample on the palate, with tons of vibrancy, the 2018 offers terrific vibrancy as well as character. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, blackberry jam, licorice and spice build as the Solaia gains momentum over time. The 2018 is dense and beautifully layered, yet retains the mid-weight structure of this super elegant vintage.Rated 98/100 Antonio Galloni

2018 Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia

2018 Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia ....$53.98
The 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia is an absolutely stunning wine. The archetype of Rancia in the past has been of a big, potent Chianti Classico but in 2018, Rancia is a wine of mind-blowing elegance and finesse. Silky, perfumed and indescribably finessed, the 2018 dazzles from start to finish. It's a magical wine in every way.
Rated 97/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
The 2018 is an unusual vintage that shows an especially austere character. Off the bat, it must be said that the Fèlsina 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia would certainly benefit from more cellar time and a long drinking window. The Rancia is elegant and streamlined with a medium-bodied style that breaks from some of the more concentrated vintages we've seen in the past. The bouquet reveals a lot of dark or black character with blackcurrant, tar, resin, iron ore and a dusty hint of dry graham cracker (which reminds us of the vintage heat). Structurally, the wine offers a solid and firm footing, but it would benefit from further
Rated 95/100 The Wine Advocate
This is really subtle and complex with cherry, herb, floral and sage aromas that follow through to a full body with firm, fine tannins that give form and energy to the wine. Racy and very fine. Drink or hold.
Rated 95/100 James Suckling

Firestone Walker Frieky Bones

Firestone Walker Frieky Bones...$8.99 / 375ml
It’s time to get your “friek” on as we unveil Frieky Bones, a limited new release from our Barrelworks wild ale cellar.
Frieky Bones is a re-imagination of our long-treasured Krieky Bones, a classic Flanders-style Kriek beer that we hadn’t made for a few years, and that was due for a reprise.
Barrelworks’ Master Blender Jim “Sour Jim” Crooks put is this way, as only he can: “The Krieky skeleton is now raised to the rafters as buckets of electrified cherry rain down, giving new life to a long-buried relative.”
Indeed, Frieky Bones was made with twice the typical amount of Montmorency cherries (totaling 3.5 pounds of fruit for every gallon of beer), creating an incredible wild ale that doubles down on delicious fruit flavors. The Montmorency cherries came from King Orchards in northern Michigan, and they were selected by Jim for their tart yet sumptuous character.
The cherries were co-fermented with a base Flanders-style ale that had spent two years in an oak foeder, and the resulting elixir was matured in oak for another four months prior to bottling.

Ardnamurchan Single Cask AD/CK.632 09:15

The Ardnamurchan peninsula is a wonderfully remote “finger” of rocky land that stretches out to the furthest westerly point of the UK, just to the north of the Isle of Mull, and south of the Isle of Skye. It is accessed initially by a small ferry, and then by a narrow and twisty single track road.

It’s famous for its outstanding and untouched beauty and abundance of natural resources.
The Ardnamurchan Distillery opened in July 2014 and is situated half way along the peninsula in the small village of Glenbeg. It was designed to both look like a distillery, and also fit in with the surrounding buildings.

Pellegrino Amaro

Pellegrino Amaro di Erbe Siciliane ....$23.99
A classic Italian digestive liqueur, an Amaro (bitter in Italian) is a bittersweet, herb-infused fortified wine, which ranges in strength 15% to 40% in alcohol content. While bitter digestive liqueurs are produced across Europe and the world over, an Amaro denotes those originating in Italy. In Italy, Amari are traditionally served as an after-dinner drink, but Italian Amari are increasingly employed in a variety classic and innovative cocktails.

Pellegrino Amaro, whose alcohol content is 19%, has been produced and distilled in the province of Trapani in northwest Sicily by the Pellegrino family, an independent wine, bitters and spirits firm that dates back 130 years.

Pellegrino Amaro is produced from a carefully selected blend of Sicilian herbs and then blended with distilled wine sourced exclusively grapes grown in the island’s Marsala Denominazione d’Origine Protetta (DOC). The resulting Amaro is aged more than five years in Slovenian oak casks ranging in size from 1,300-2,100 gallons.
