Caro Amancaya Malbec / Cabernet Sauvignon

Better than Half price!!!
Do not miss this wine at this price!

From two legendary winemaking families
Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite and the Catena created another premium wine, this time a Malbec dominated cuvée, that would nevertheless be a balance between the Bordeaux and Argentine styles. To celebrate its Andean origin, the wine was named Amancaya, after the mountain flower which grows in the Andes.

Only $9.99
are you kidding me!!

2020 Caro Amancaya Malbec / Cabernet Sauvignon...$9.99

Elegantly detailed aromas of violet, mace and crushed raspberry pave a nice entry to this richly textured red, which shows fleshy plum and raspberry flavors midpalate, lightened by an underpinning of minerality, before toasty mocha notes and round tannins arrive on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Drink now through 2032. 20,000 cases made, 8,000 cases imported.

#17 Wine of the Year - The Wine Spectator!
There's more ripeness in the nose and flavors of the 2020 Amancaya, reflecting the warm and dry vintage. It has 14.5% alcohol and was produced with a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Malbec, reversing the dominant grape to combine the fruit and freshness of Malbec with the power and complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon. Fifty percent of the volume matured in oak barrels while the other half was kept in concrete to keep the fruit-driven profile with a soft palate and round tannins. 122,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022.

2014 Chateau du Bousquet Cotes de Bourg Rouge

A 12 year old Bordeaux for $20

The 2014 vintage from Château du Bousquet is an amazing mature Bordeaux well-structured and food-friendly profile — especially good with red meats, grilled dishes, and hearty fare

2014 Chateau du Bousquet Cotes de Bourg Rouge...$19.99
A fragrant nose that combines spices, blue fruit and cocoa. Medium-to full-bodied with succulent fruit throughout, soft tannins and a fresh, clean finish. Good now but better in a year or two.

2016 Brigaldara Case Vecie Amarone Della Valpolicella

We have an amazing price on this wine!

A great Italian wine!

What wine to serve with Braised Short Ribs? answer:  Amarone
Amarone is a great wine to serve with Reggiano Parmigiano

2016 Brigaldara Case Vecie Amarone Della Valpolicella...$79.99
Lowest price on Wine-Searcher is $124.99

Brigaldara Case Vecie Amarone Della Valpolicella 2016 is a deep, dark, supple and meditative wine produced from 39% Corvina, 30% Corvinone and 31% Rondinella grapes sourced from the high-altitude Grezzana Case Vecie vineyard in the Veneto wine region. The wine is aged up to two years in smaller oak barriques with two years in larger oak barrels. Fragrant with cherry liqueur, dark spices, dried herbs and dried fig, raisin fruit, spicy on the palate with cinnamon and pepper spice with a long minerally finish. Tannins are pleasantly chewy. Drink or cellar to 2035. Amarone Della Valpolicella food pairings: slow-braised beef ribs, ossobuco, lamb ragu.
Rated 96/100 Natalie Maclean
The Brigaldara 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie (made with Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella in almost equal parts) offers a slightly bitter set of aromas and a very savory bouquet with little in the way of primary fruit. The aromas are dried and evolved, showing well for near-term drinking for sure. The wine is very powerful, with a 16.5% alcohol content, and will ultimately prove hard to pair with lighter foods given the enormous power and intensity inherent to this 15,000-bottle release.
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate
Fresh and focused, with a firm frame of sculpted tannins layered with crushed cherry, anise hyssop, fig cake and spiced orange peel notes. The finish is long and chalky in texture, echoing hints of fragrant herbs and minerally iron and smoke. Drink now through 2029. 1,100 cases made, 350 cases imported.

2024 Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Blanc

A new and very rare white from Gigondas!

2024 Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Blanc Les Pres...$41.99
Has some weight and breadth on the palate, but is only medium-bodied. Good feeling of freshness and precision. It's not a wine that brings to mind specific flavour allusions when young: a tab of dry honey, dried pear, chamomile. But more will come with age. Dry, stony finish.
Rated 93/100 Decanter Magazine
A delicate bouquet of crisp Bosc pear, peony blossom, and crushed stone leaps from the glass with a vibrant, almost electric intensity. The palate is sleek and precise, powered by zippy acidity that pushes a saline minerality to the forefront, while citrus pith and fresh apple skins give it a tangy, mouthwatering edge. There's just enough texture here to keep things grounded, but it's the energy and focus that drive this wine forward. It's undeniably delicious now, but with a little patience, this one will reward you through 2030+
Rated 94/100 The Wine Enthusiast
A pure Clairette, the 2024 Gigondas Blanc is charming and lively, offering up aromas of white fruits, fresh herbs and gentle spice. Medium-bodied and satiny, it glides across the palate with a round, sweet core of fruit, concluding with a delicately aromatic, mouthwatering finish.
Rated 91/100 The Wine Advocate

100 % Clairette from the lieu-dits of La Louisianne and La Moutte both situated on the plateau quite close to the estate. Just 3 barrels and 1 800 litre cement egg produced for this second vintage. 60 % aged in barrel, 2 from Chassin cooperage, both 1 one year old, and one 228 L from Stockinger, and 40% in cement egg. Tremendous perfume and lift in the fresh 2024 vintage. Very pure floral white fruit aromas are lifted by the ageing on lees. Fresh and fine and very long with excellent acid balance and line and length. Stunning vintage in this vintage for this particular wine - and for many southern Rhone whites.

The 2024 Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Blanc represents one of the newest chapters in the Southern Rhône — and one of its most compelling.

White Gigondas only became AOC-approved in 2023, and Saint-Damien is already setting the benchmark. Domaine Saint-Damien has long been a reference point for Gigondas reds, and its 2024 Gigondas Blanc shows that the estate’s terroir-driven approach translates seamlessly to white wine. As one of the early releases following the appellation’s expansion to include whites, this bottling is both historically significant and immediately compelling — a benchmark for what white Gigondas can be.

2023 Brady Vineyard Cabernet Franc Paso Robles

What a stunning deal!!

2023 Brady Vineyard Cabernet Franc Paso Robles...$19.99
Here's a Cabernet Franc from Paso Robles that retains varietal character while showing the region's inherent power. Aromas of oregano, thyme, purple flower, and black plum draw in the nose. The palate shows a slightly bitter herbal bite that offsets the rich plum and violet flavors

El Maestro Sierra Sherry

El Maestro Sierra Oloroso 15 Year Old....$18.99 / 375ml
The regular NV Oloroso is bottled at an average age of 15 years from their solera. It's warm and persistent with a very dark mahogany color, darker than the 1/14, but it has the tenderness of the youngish wines, with a peachy character. It surprised me with its super dark color and green edge. It's too young and tender, maybe with a sweet touch? But it feels very dry... A bit confusing.
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate

El Maestro Sierra Amontillado 12 Years Old...$26.99 / 375ml

The regular NV Amontillado has an average age of 12 years, six years under flor, and then it was fortified to 17.5% alcohol and aged in an oxidative way. It feels bone dry. The price is for a half bottle.
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate

El Maestro Sierra PX Pedro Ximinez Sherry....$18.99 / 375ml
Another step up is the non-vintage Pedro Ximinez from a 15-year-old solera. It is brown amber in color with aromas of orange peel and English toffee. It is thick and rich on the palate and very long.

Lustau Sherry

Lustau Sherry - some of the greatest!

"Lustau made its reputation in the foreign markets with its extraordinary single cask Almacenistas which had been accumulated by the family over many years as their soleras are among the oldest in Sherry....These are all remarkable efforts for their stunning value. While they are still under-the-radar for most American wine lovers, I encourage readers to give them a try as they are great introductory reference points for how profound sherry can be....they can be as profound as any alcoholic beverage in the world."
- Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate (2012)

Lustau Sherry Manzanilla Papirusa...$19.99
100% Palomino
MANZANILLA IN IT’S HIGHEST EXPRESSION
Very dry and very floral. Aging under flor in Sanlucar de Barrameda, in a humid microclimate under the influence of the sea breeze from the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, which marks his character extremely dry, light and sharp. A unique manzanilla sherry within that year after year has earned the highest awards in competitions most prestigious international wines.
The origin of the name Papirusa is Argentina and means “beautiful and elegant” and was the name of Emilio Lustau doll gift to the daughter of the manager of Bodegas Lustau in the 40s.
D.O. Manzanilla Sanlúcar de Barrameda
15 % Alcohol
5 Years
Profile: Very Dry
The non-vintage Light Manzanilla Papirusa Solera Reserva (with an average age of five years in this solera) possesses an extraordinary, penetrating nose of salty brined nuts intermixed with crisp fruit, terrific acidity and intense, powerful, authoritative flavors that are ethereal in their lightness.
Rated 92/100 Robert Parker (2012)

Lustau East India Solera Cream Sherry...$27.99
Palomino y Pedro Ximénez
Dark mahogany in colour with green-amber edge. It offers vibrant notes of maple syrup, brown sugar, shoe polish, raisin and chocolate beer nuts, all very well integrated. On the palate it is smooth and rich at the beginning, full of prune and burned oranges peel flavours. Provocative spicy notes appear just before its nuttiness and terrific acidity cuts through the sweetness. With a truly unforgettable finish.
Each wine (Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez) is matured, separately in its own solera for 12 years. Once blended together, the resulting sherry is returned to a 45-cask solera for a further 3 years ageing. In centuries gone by, casks with sherry were lashed to ships sailing for the Indies and were found to develop an extraordinary smoothness and complexity. Lustau has revived this style of sherry in the East India wine.
ALCOHOL: 20 %
AVERAGE AGE:15 Years

Lustau Sherry Oloroso Don Nuño...$31.99
100% Palomino
Aged following an oxidative ageing for 12 years in Bodega La Campana in Jerez de la Frontera.
Dark bronze colour with golden rim. Pungent nutty aromas with a smoky wood background. Rich flavours of bitter chocolate, walnuts and baked chestnuts. This Oloroso wine has an intense, concentrated aftertaste, lightened by a tangy acidity.
ALCOHOL: 20 %
AVERAGE AGE: 12 Years
"If you are looking for a dry sherry made in a slightly more oxidized style, the non-vintage Dry Oloroso Don Nuno Solera Reserva is your choice. Again, a nuttiness (in this case, walnuts) intermixed with a hint of Chinese black tea combine with salty, caramelized flavors make for a delicious glass of sherry."
Rated 94/100 Robert Parker (2012)

Lustau Sherry Fino Jarana...$19.99
100% Palomino
Fino Jarana
Pale straw colour with greenish reflections, bright and clean. This is a Jerez style Fino: fresh, mineral and pungent on the nose with almonds and bakery notes. Dry and crisp on the palate, yet rich and with a full finish.
Aged under a veil of yeast, called “flor”, in Bodega Las Cruces in Jerez de la Frontera. The inland climate in the town of Jerez de la Frontera provides a more rounded and fuller style of wine.
ALCOHOL: 15 %
AVERAGE AGE: 4Years
PROFILE: Bone Dry

Lustaru Sherry Amontillado Los Arcos...$19.99
100% Palomino
Aged for equal periods under “flor” and in contact with the oxygen, in Bodega Emperatriz Eugenia in Jerez de la Frontera. This dry Amontillado acquires a genuine, rich and nutty flavour through years of ageing. Amber in colour, with hazelnut aromas on the nose. Light, soft and round on the palate, with a long aftertaste.
There were two arches at the entrance to the winery at Plaza del Cubo, where this Amontillado was aged. Each one was dedicated to one of Emilio Lustau’s sons’ wives: Arco de Zuri (for Emilio Lustau Ruiz-Berdejo’s wife) and Trini (wife of José Luis Lustau Ruiz-Berdejo)
ALCOHOL: 18.5 %
AVERAGE AGE: 8 Years
PROFILE: Dry
"The non-vintage Dry Amontillado Los Arcos Solera Reserva reveals a medium amber hue along with a nutty, honeyed, dry personality with great acid."

2022 Chateau du Petit Thouras Les Georges Chinon Rouge Red

Chinon, the most famous Loire Red

2022 Chateau du Petit Thouras Les Georges Chinon Rouge Red....$22.99
Cabernet Franc

Sébastien named this cuvée in honor of his ancestors, nearly all of whom are named George (in fact, his real first name is George, too). The friendliest of the estate’s three red-wine offerings, “Les Georges” is produced entirely from the free-run juice of the younger vines of Cabernet Franc, and is vinified and aged in steel tank. This cuvée comes primarily from “Les Plantes,” the thirteen hectares of Cabernet Franc immediately behind (to the west of) “Le Clos” which Sébastien’s father planted between 1978 and 1988. Far from a simple gulper, however, “Les Georges” is classic Chinon in its marriage of vibrant fruit, honest tannins, and refreshing earth-mineral interplay.

2022 Descendientes de Jose Palacios Petalos del Bierzo

2022 Descendientes de Jose Palacios Petalos del Bierzo...$25.99
The 2022 Pétalos was produced with 85% Mencía, 10% white grapes and 5% other reds from over 90 hectares, 20% owned by them and the rest from 180 families. It fermented with some full clusters in oak and stainless steel vats and matured in barrels of different sizes for 10 months. It's clearly more Mediterranean, with notes of rockrose and other aromatic herbs, juicy and round, more fruit-driven, aromatic, velvety and very pleasant and easy to drink.

2017 La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza Rioja Reserva

Magnum bottle - new vintage
2017 La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza Rioja Reserva...$94.99 / 1.5 liter
A more vibrant and fruitier expression of Ardanza this year with strawberries, mussels, warm spices and berries. Round and silky on the palate with lovely spices and a long, nicely saline finish. A nice touch of creaminess works really well here and further extends the finish. 80% tempranillo and 20% garnacha. Drink or hold.
Rated 95/100 James Suckling
2017 was not an easy harvest, but it produced some beautiful and classical wines, like the 2017 Viña Ardanza Reserva, which shows a little more advancement and polish and is ready to drink. It was produced with 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha from their vineyard La Pedriza in Tudelilla. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in American oak barrels, 36 months for the Tempranillo and 30 for the Garnacha (that was harvested 15 days later), with six rackings. It's ripe and aromatic, tertiary, with 14.5% alcohol and mellow acidity, a medium-bodied palate and sleek tannins. It has a pungent note of clove and pepper, some licorice and ink and the cherries in liqueur from the Garnacha. An updated classical Ardanza. 600,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2021.

2012 López de Heredia Vino Tondonia Reserva

1 Magnum Available!
2012 López de Heredia Vino Tondonia Reserva...$129.99 / 1.5 liter
The 2012 Viña Tondonia Reserva comes from a very dry year, with 25% less rain than the average (at the time), resulting in lower yields of very healthy grapes that delivered wines with nice balance between alcohol and polyphenols, making it very apt for the aging in barrel. It had a slightly longer élevage in barrel, six years. The wine is aromatic with a developed profile, spicy and tertiary (forest floor, a touch of brick dust and iodine), complex and nuanced. The palate is full and round, with polished tannins and a long, dry finish. It has a textbook Tondonia nose and profile.
