Rated 87/100 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media

"This crowd pleasing Cabernet – consistently named a Wine Enthusiast “Best Buy” – delivers serious bang for the buck! It displays ripe blackcurrant and dried herb characters on the nose, which are supported by spicy oak notes. The palate is smooth and soft, with appealing ripe tannins and a long finish." -- Winery

A.D. Laws from Colorado

A.D. Laws Whiskey House is a grain-to-glass distillery in Denver, Colorado that applies a “there are no shortcuts” philosophy to each batch of whiskey produced. Each batch is milled, cooked, fermented, distilled, and aged on-site, utilizing heirloom grains from family-owned Colorado farms. The practice of open air, on-grain fermentation captures the essence of Colorado’s terroir while the copper pot- column still produces a robust, grain-forward style of whiskey that is aged in 53 gallon charred oak barrels for a minimum of three years.

A.D. Laws Four Grain Straight Bourbon...$49.99
This flagship whiskey is crafted from the four “American mother grains”: corn, wheat, barley, and rye. There aren’t many four grain bourbons on the market because they are difficult to make. Through a labor-intensive stepped cook process (in which individual varietals require different cooking temperatures and durations to maximize flavor), each grain varietal lends its unique characteristics to the whiskey.
  • Mash Bill: 60% Corn, 20% Colorado-grown wheat, 10% Colorado-grown rye, 10% Colorado-grown barley
  • Classic open air, sour mash fermentation
  • Aged over three years in new, 53 gal, charred oak barrels
  • Bottled at 95 Proof
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of orange blossom compliment notes of black tea, honey, and dusty pepper on the nose. Flavors of pekoe tea, orange peel, cinnamon, and vanilla custard dominate the palate. Hints of sweet tobacco and spice lead to a rich, dry finish.

A.D. Laws Secale Straight Rye...$55.99
Secale Straight Rye takes its name from secale cereale, the Latin term for the rye grain. The unique terroir of the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado imparts a perfumed quality to the grain, while a mash consisting of 50% raw and 50% malted rye produces a whiskey that balances the cereal qualities of malted grain with the assertive spice profile of its raw counterpart. The final result is a distinctly nuanced rye whiskey unlike any other.
  • Mash Bill: 95% heirloom rye, 5% heirloom barley
  • Classic open air, sour mash fermentation
  • Aged over two years in new, 53 gal, charred oak barrels
  • Bottled at 100 proof
  • Tasting Notes: Floral and perfumed on the nose with notes of baking spice and orange oil. Black tea, sweet mint, and stewed fig on the palate, with hints of orange blossom and salted toffee. Finishes with a lingering green peppercorn spice.

La Chiuse Brunello di Montalcino - scores perfect 100

Only 6 bottles left of 18 received!
2013 La Chiuse Brunello di Montalcino....$75.99
Le Chiuse delivers an impeccable wine that beautifully captures the classic side of this elegant vintage. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino opens to a gorgeous garnet color that is both luminous and sultry. The bouquet takes a minute or two to reach cruising altitude. Once it does, it reveals wild cherry, rose hip, blanched almond and sassy licorice or spice. It is aged in large oak casks for 38 months, and the fruit is farmed organically. This is an absolute breakout vintage for Le Chiuse, and the wine already shows the textural richness for prolonged aging. Bravo!

Banfi La Pettegola Vermentino Toscana

"Recently my family and I were lucky enough to spend a week in Tuscany with old friends. We stayed just outside of the historic city of Cortona and spent days driving around Tuscany visiting the various sites, Lake Trasimene, Sienna, the Perugina Chocolate Factory in Perugia, and we ended every day back at the villa sitting on the patio drinking wine. While Tuscany is most known for it's amazing Red Wines, Chianti Classico, Super Tuscans from Bolgheri and of course Brunello di Montalcino, we all gravitated to the crisp clean whites, none more enjoyable than Castello Banfi's La Pettegola Vermentino. Grab a bottle this weekend and pretend this is your view." -- Aaron, Wine Buyer

Old Milford Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a wonderful caramel color with spicy flavor notes of oak, white pepper, vanilla and English toffee. The unique blend teases your palate with honey, baking spice and nutmeg as well as hints of coffee and fine chocolate. The finish is long with cinnamon, white pepper, barrel char and a slow warming heat. This is an amazing drink that needs nothing added. Enjoy it straight up or with a cube of ice.
