While doing an inventory audit, Old Potrero found an almost 7 year old single barrel bottled and hidden away in their warehouse.   Since we have done a number of single barrels with them, they offered it to us.  We jumped at the opportunity to grab this amazing barrel!   We scored it at a great price too, only $45 a bottle while their current single barrels all sell for $80 or more!!!

This will count as a TWCP Single barrel - so double points for the raffles.  I guess we did not officially pick this barrel, but it picked us!!!

The 2022 Lytton Springs 50th Anniversary is composed of 67% Zinfandel, 19% Petite Sirah, 11% Carignane and 3% Alicante Bouschet. It opens with initial touches of glossy new American oak—dill and toasted coconut—and gives way to kaleidoscopic black and red plums, cherries and berries, plus accents of hibiscus and potpourri. The full-bodied palate features generous, spicy flavors. It’s structured by abundant, powdery tannins and lively acidity and has a long, detailed finish. Winemaker Shauna Rosenblum says this 2022 was crafted using only American oak, a shift from the blend of French and American oak used in the past. It has resulted in a particularly pure, transparent expression that opens dramatically with air, and this 2022 Lytton Springs will benefit from several years in the cellar.

Truckle is the old English word for a cylinder shape. Traditionally, most Old World cheddars are formed into truckles, not blocks, hence the name and shape of this cheddar.

In Jamesport, Missouri, the Flory family crafts approximately 50 truckles a day from the raw milk of their 30 Jersey cows. The truckles are bandaged in cheese cloth, coated in lard, and aged on wooden shelves for 60 days before traveling to Iowa’s Milton Creamery, the same farm that crafts our best-selling cheese, Prairie Breeze, where they continue to mature for least 12 months. Co-founder Alex Lacroix and Master Tequilero Sergio Cruz (of the renowned Vivanco family distillery, NOM 1414) have pushed the boundaries of traditional tequila production, delivering an experience unlike anything seen in modern tequila.

Muerto embarks on a world-first journey by allowing the yeast to die, evolve, and rest over a three-week “afterlife,” building complexity much like the malolactic fermentation found in the finest rums. The process is enhanced by the Mozart method, playing classical music during fermentation, which helps deepen the connection between agave and yeast.

Two Distinctive Batches:
