Red Line

Red Line Bourbon Orange Curacao Finish...$109.99
ORANGE CURAÇAO FINISHED BOUBON

It all begins with sourced barrels from France that once held French orange curaçao. The orange curaçao that aged in these barrels was made from the peels of bitter citrus fruits grown in the Caribbean. The fruits are harvested before they ripen, while they're still green. This is when the maximum amount of orange essence can be extracted.
With the barrels in house we begin our selection process to find the perfect bourbon that will blend well with the flavor profile of the orange curaçao. After selecting our barrels we introduce our cask strength bourbon to the used orange curaçao barrels and allow it to finish until it tastes of perfection.
Tasting Notes: Orange marmalade and white peppercorn notes with hints of tobacco, black pepper spice, leather, and dried fruit. Deep flavor profile with a strong finish

Red Line Bourbon Toasted Barrel Finish...$84.99
TOASTED BARREL FINSHED BOURBON

This product is made by taking our Red Line Cask Strength Straight Bourbon and then aging it for an additional period in a second custom made barrel. This second barrel is assembled from 18 month air dried wood and then toasted not charred as your normal bourbon barrel would be. This process allows for the sugars in the wood to be drawn to the interior surface where the bourbon will be making contact, adding amazing flavors to the bourbon. The truly unique and delicious taste this toasted finishing process offers represents a remarkable achievement given that it is Straight Bourbon with nothing extra added or done except the transfer into the toasted barrel.

Red Line Bourbon Honey Cask Finish...$109.99
HONEY CASK FINISHED BOURBON

We start our Process by filling empty Red Line Bourbon barrels with local wildflower honey and allow it to age in order to produce a Barrel-Aged Honey. Some of the finest nectar around. Once the Honey Aging process is complete, we take the "honey barrels" and fill them with our hand selected single barrel bourbons to finish until it passes our strict tasting guidelines. The result is a flavorful marriage of our cask strength bourbon and sweet honey blended to perfection.

As high levels of botanicals are used, Clean G has a naturally cloudy appearance.

Compass Box Ultramarine Limited Edition Scotch

Limited Edition
"The Extinct Blends Quartet"

Compass Box Ultramarine Limited Edition Scotch...$339.99
Welcome to our flavour time machine
Bottles of Scotch whisky are time capsules. Even more than single malts, blends can reflect the production methods and philosophies that prevailed in Scotland during specific eras. Scotch is constantly evolving, and blends aggregate these trends and adaptations.
Fashions change, and formulae follow suit. Blended whiskies of the 1970s, '80s and '90s are very different to today’s versions, even when the brand name remains the same. The Extinct Blends Quartet reimagines four of our favourite blended Scotches from yesteryear, using some of our rarest and most idiosyncratic stocks of whisky.
  • Bottled at 51% ABV
  • Not Chill-Filtered
  • Natural Colour
  • Lead Whiskymaker: James Saxon

Ultramarine takes as its inspiration the antique Sherry and pipe tobacco notes of a deluxe blended Scotch, first released in the late 1980s.

Powerfully flavoursome and impressively textural, the first release in the Extinct Blends Quartet relies on mature malts from the Caol Ila and Glendullan distilleries; aged grains from the Cameronbridge and Girvan distilleries, as well as a medley of pre-blended stocks.

Bouchard Pere & Fils Meursault Les Clous

Great bottle of Burgundy!  More just arrived!
2019 Bouchard Pere & Fils Meursault Les Clous...$64.99 / 750ml
This elegant Meursault reminds me very much of the best wines from this appellation from the 1970s and 80s. Only medium-bodied, with delicate pear, apple and lemon aromas. Long, silky and filigree finish. What’s the secret to its 1er Cru quality? Apart from very good winemaking, it’s a high altitude site that has benefited from climate change. Drink or hold.
Rated 94/100 James Suckling

Sonoma Cutrer

We now have some half bottles
2021 Sonoma Cutrer Russian River Ranches....$10.99 / 375ml
This Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a beautiful pale, medium straw color. On the nose, you are enveloped with stone fruit aromas of white peach and apricot along with vanilla laced oak spice, toasted nuts, light caramel and subtle notes of cinnamon, clove, and an underlying light floral note. The creamy richness of this medium-bodied wine boasts flavors of ripe pear and peach. This is an elegantly structured Chardonnay that offers a lot of finesse and a focused balance from start to finish. You will find Sonoma-Cutrer’s signature vibrant acidity well-balanced with nice length that rounds out to a pleasant, lingering finish of barrel spice.

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry...$21.99 / 500ml
Look for a pale straw hue and fresh green apple and white flower aromas. The palate is zippy and remarkably light, with mouthwatering lemon peel and the barest hints of fresh herbs and peppermint on the super-clean, brisk exhale. Martini-worthy.
Rated 97/100 The Wine Enthusiast

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry, released on the year of Cocchi’s 130th anniversary, is a classic-style vermouth from the birthplace of vermouth, Piemonte.
“Ricetta Piemontese”(Piedmontese recipe), stated on the label, is a very precise indication of the content: all the relevant ingredients for this vermouth come from Piemonte and have a strong bond with our region.
The wine used for this vermouth is Cortese, the same grape used for Gavi DOCG.
The Artemisia Absinthium, is 100% from Piemonte mountains.
The aromatic profile is characterized by Menta di Pancalieri, a local variety of peppermint, and lemon, traditionally used to garnish vermouth in our region.
The Cocchi Extra Dry proudly carries the “Vermouth di Torino” appellation.
CHARACTERISTICS:  The wine at its hearth comes from local Cortese grapes (same grape used for Gavi DOCG), which is then married with lemon peels and Piedmontese mint as well as botanicals such as wormwood, angelica, coriander and cardamom for a fragrant and perfectly balanced character.
TASTING NOTES:  Cocchi Extra Dry is an extremely elegant stand-alone vermouth with fresh apple, melon and white flower notes from the wine, beautifully balance with the aromatic botanical notes of cardamom, wormwood, coriander and angelica. The Piedmontese mint and lemon peels bring herbaceous notes and brightness to the palate, creating a unique personality.
HOW TO DRINK IT: Cocchi Extra Dry was developed to enrich, with its inimitable character, classic cocktails such as the Martini or the Bamboo (40ml Cocchi Extra Dry stirred with 40ml Dry sherry, garnished with lime zest or basil leaf), but it also shines when served with tonic water (elderflower tonic is our preferred choice), soda water or sipped over ice.

Green River Kentucky Straight Bourbon....$32.99
A LEGACY REVIVED
More than 130 years since its inception Green River returns. Made on the same grounds it was in 1885. Perfected by an eighth-generation Master Distiller.
BOURBON HISTORY
Bourbon Whiskey is a distinctly American product that has been produced in this country since the eighteenth century. Bourbon can be made in any U.S. state but the vast majority of it hails from Kentucky, and can claim to be world-renowned Kentucky Bourbon. As defined by federal standards, Bourbon Whiskey must be stored in charred new oak barrels at not more than 125 proof and it must contain not less than 51% corn. There is no set minimum time for Bourbon Whiskey to age in a barrel, with the exception of Straight Bourbon Whiskey which must age in a barrel for at least two years.
BOURBON IN OWENSBORO
Daviess County—where our distillery resides—has a rich bourbon tradition. In fact, a distillery operated in the county as early as 1805. Owensboro has been a hub for bourbon production because of its location along a rail line and waterway, its tremendous limestone water source, its extensive oak forests, and because local farmers have always produced a great deal of corn. The location of the Green River Distillery has been producing Bourbon Whiskey since 1885.BOURBONS MADE IN THE DISTILLERY
The site of the Green River Distillery has housed distilleries for nearly 130 years. The original Green River Distillery, built in 1885, was the first in Owensboro and a major producer of Kentucky Bourbon for over 30 years. In 1918 the entire distillery burned to the ground. It was rebuilt in 1936 after prohibition, and most of the buildings on our grounds today date back to the late 1930s. In 1940 it was purchased by the Medley family and continued to produce significant quantities of Bourbon as the Charles Medley Distillers Kentucky until 1993.
Here is a random sampling of just some of the bourbon brands that have been made on the site of our distillery. Some of these brands have moved on to different distilleries over time and some are no longer in production:
  • Green River
  • Ezra Brooks
  • Mellow Corn
  • Medley Brothers
  • Kentucky Beau
  • Old Medley
  • Five Brothers

Missouri Bourbon Bill #266
Passed 8.28.19
100% Missouri Corn
Must be mashed, fermented, and distilled in Missouri
Must be aged in charred Missouri Oak
6 Year Old
Bourbon is by definition American-made. The spirit can only be made in the United States and it can be made in any state, but the finest bourbon results from an ideal combination of climate and geology that is rare outside of Kentucky but is found in the rolling hills of Weston, Missouri.
The Holladay Distillery was founded in 1856, making it both the oldest distillery in the state of Missouri and the oldest distillery west of the Mississippi still operating on its original site. The property sits on active limestone springs that were first charted by Lewis and Clark in 1804, more than fifty years before Ben Holladay purchased the land that would later become his legacy.
Ben Holladay Bourbon is classified as a Real Missouri Bourbon under a 2019 law requiring that any whiskey labeled as Missouri bourbon must not only meet the federal standards for bourbon, but also be mashed, fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled in the state; aged in oak barrels manufactured in the state; and—beginning January 1, 2020—made with corn exclusively grown in the state. It is also Bottled-in-Bond, a rare and prestigious designation in the distilled spirits industry, signaling that the product is distilled, aged, and bottled in the same location and assuring a mark of authenticity.
This six-year-old, Bottled-in-Bond, Real Missouri Bourbon is crafted with the same mash bill that was developed by Ben Holladay in 1856. This whiskey represents the perfect union of distilling tradition and modern-day production.

Millstream Brewing from Iowa!

Millstream Brewing from Iowa!
Glad to have them back in St. Louis.  We have not seen them in 20 plus years!
They were one of the first craft brewers to appear on our shelves back in the early 90s.
Back in the 1980s, outside of imports and macro beers, you could only get Anchor Brewing and Sierra Nevada, that all changed in the early 90s.  The Wine and Cheese Place started stocking Millstream Brewing from Iowa along with others like Oldenberg from Kentucky, Captial Brewing from Wisconsin.....and then Pete's Wicked Ale....then the micro beer boom.
In 1990 there were 284 breweries in the U.S. -- the number reported now is over 8,700!!
Update: I talked to Tony who was the distributor for it back in the day.  He said it was the first brewery he brought in 32 years ago!!!!

Millstream Brewing Schild Brau Amber...$10.99 / 6pk 12oz cans
This absolute classic of a lager has been a flagship at Millstream Brewing for many years. Caramel malts give a slight sweet and nutty taste while finishing hops lend to a smooth, crisp finish.

Millstream Brewing Back Road Oatmeal Stout...$10.99 / 6pk 12oz cans
Back Road Stout used to be just a winter seasonal brew when it first was introduced back in 1996. But since then popular demand has made it into an all year affair. The ‘oatmeal’ in the name is due the 5% oatmeal in the the grist of this brew. Oats give beer a real thick mouthfeel, something definitely desirable in a stout! Black malt and roasted barley give the beer its color, and coffee-like flavors. If you like thick full-bodied & smooth stout, this beer is for you! This is our first high gravity beer put into production since the law change in March 2010. Sip responsibly!

Millstream Brewing Millie Hop Grapefruit IPA...$10.99 / 6pk 12oz cans
We’ve added a splash of grapefruit to our New England IPA which leaves us with a dry, citrusy, and fruity good time. Best enjoyed outdoors with friends.

Millstream Brewing Twig & Berries Blueberry Kolsch Ale...$10.99 / 6pk 12oz cans
This light and clean brew with a hint of blueberry will be the perfect companion for hiking amongst all the twigs and berries out there.

Millstream Brewing The Fuzz Peach Kolsch Ale...$10.99 / 6pk 12oz cans
This beer is a light German Style Ale that has some great peach flavor. The results are a smooth and refreshing flavor with a nice peach aftertaste that is not overpowering

Millstream Brewing Pants Off Dance Off Cream Ale with Pistachio...$10.99 / 4pk 16oz can
This Pistachio Cream Ale is sure to knock your pants off! Sweet notes of Pistachio are quickly unzipped and carry right into the legs of this light brew. The lingering flavors will make you want to dance your way into another sip. It’s a dance off, baby!
