Great Cabernet Value!!
A great value in Cabernet from the
amazing 2015 vintage
2015 Villa des Anges Cabernet Sauvignon....$11.99
Made by Jeff Carrel and scheduled to be bottled just after this tasting, the Villa des Anges 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from 15-year-old vines planted to the northwest of Beziers, in the clay and limestone soils around the village of Capestang. It was aged in cement tanks with one-third seeing oak staves. Made in a fruit forward, supple and easy drinking style, with lots of black raspberry, cassis and hits of garrigue, this medium-bodied effort has good purity of fruit and plenty of texture. It won’t make old bones, but it’s certainly an enjoyable Cabernet to drink over the coming 3-4 years. - The Wine Advocate
"Villa des Anges" is crafted by winemaker Jeff Carrel at the Espitalet des Anges domaine in Capestang. Situated on the ruins of an ancient Roman villa, the domaine is owned by Jaqueline Menard de Ginestous, who married-into and is herself from a prominent Languedocienne wine-growing family. A wine of great freshness, intensity and concentration. Well-structured, offering aromas of black cherries, with
hints of red pepper and light, spicy cumin/coriander notes.
Serve With: Enjoy with a wide range of red meat and cheese dishes.
