Compass Box The Extinct Blends Quartet Metropolis....$299.99

For our third release in the Extinct Blends Quartet, we step into the throng of a striving city through the ages. Industriousness jostles up against elaborate architecture; people and provisions from diverse places mingle; commerce meets culture. Blended Scotch whisky began in the metropolis, with blending vats in Glasgow and Edinburgh producing bottles for urban jungles around the world.
Components are from the Bowmore, Aberlour, and Miltonduff distilleries along with blended malt and grain whisky parcels.
FLAVOUR PROFILE
Vanilla arrives first on the nose, followed by a medley of different honeys. Fudge, apricot and pineapple lead to fresh fig. A rich and very complex palate with sultana, apricot again and hints of smoky woodiness. A long and sweet finish, with a pleasing weight.
Compass Box The Extinct Blends Quartet Delos....$299.99

Reimagining Asyla – our own Extinct Blend
Our Extinct Blends Quartet takes inspiration from vanished characters and flavours, reappraising four very different expressions of blended Scotch, using some of our most precious parcels of whisky.
First created in 2001, Asyla was the ethereally beautiful cornerstone of our core range until its retirement in 2018. With Delos, we have focused on capturing Asyla's vibrancy and soothing sweetness, turning to older stocks to achieve this.
Components are from the Imperial, Glen Elgin, & Miltonduff malt distilleries along with Cameronbridge Single Grain distillery
FLAVOUR PROFILE
A sweet succulence that breaks upon the nose in soft waves: ripe pear, pineapple, orange oil and vanilla cream. A medley of fruit tarts and white chocolate soothe the palate, while the maturity of the component whiskies gradually builds to reveal guava, heather honey and chai spices. Limited Edition

Compass Box Ultramarine Limited Edition Scotch...$339.99
Welcome to our flavour time machine
Bottles of Scotch whisky are time capsules. Even more than single malts, blends can reflect the production methods and philosophies that prevailed in Scotland during specific eras. Scotch is constantly evolving, and blends aggregate these trends and adaptations.
Fashions change, and formulae follow suit. Blended whiskies of the 1970s, '80s and '90s are very different to today’s versions, even when the brand name remains the same. The Extinct Blends Quartet reimagines four of our favourite blended Scotches from yesteryear, using some of our rarest and most idiosyncratic stocks of whisky.Bottled at 51% ABVNot Chill-FilteredNatural ColourLead Whiskymaker: James SaxonUltramarine takes as its inspiration the antique Sherry and pipe tobacco notes of a deluxe blended Scotch, first released in the late 1980s.
Powerfully flavoursome and impressively textural, the first release in the Extinct Blends Quartet relies on mature malts from the Caol Ila, Miltonduff, Glen Ord, Speyburn, and Glendullan distilleries; aged grains from the Cameronbridge and Girvan distilleries, as well as a medley of pre-blended stocks.
