TOKI means "Time" in Japanese. It's a concept rich in meaning the world over, but pafticularly in Japan, where respect for tradition and reinvention sparks a powertul creative energy. Inspired by that interplay, TOKI brings together old and new - the House of Suntory's proud heritage and its Innovative spirit.
The limited edition paokaging features Toki's main visual which brings the world of Old meets New Japan. Inspired by Kintsugils the Japanese art of.repairing pottery by creatively mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. As a philosophy. it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disgulse, embracing appreciation of beauty in the passage of time. For Toki, the art of Kintsugf illustrates the respect and tradition for our whisky making, infused with modern day culture have reinvigorated the innovative whisky.
Combining calligraphy with abstraction, Tansetsu Ogino's most recent plece is representative of the Toki experience in totality. Hidden in the artwork, you can discovor the Toki Kanji (9) alongside a visual expression of the blend through vibrant and dynamic brushstrokes.
