Clonakilty Distillery is located in the southwest of Ireland in Co. Cork.The founders, the Scully family, have farmed by this coastal land for eight successive generations. A commitment to both heritage and innovation has led us to revive ancient malting barley varieties. Privileged to be guardians of these scarce grains, they nurture them to create a range of whiskies that honors this unique inheritance.

Clonakilty Single Batch Double Oak Finish is the flagship of Clonakilty’s Cask Finish Series. A premium product matured in ex-bourbon casks, it is finished in virgin American oak; and shaved, toasted and re-charred ex-red wine European oak casks (NEOC, New Era of Cask). This makes it the world’s first Irish whiskey to be finished in a NEOC cask. NEOC are ex-red wine barrels from the Bordeaux region of France. They are hand-shaved by traditional coopers, and re-toasted according to each individual distiller’s specification.

We have used a premium Irish malt and 9 year old Irish grain.
It was then gently cut and finished in Port Casks from The Douro Valley at our Atlantic Ocean warehouse.
Clonakilty Irish Whiskey Bordeaux Cask Finish...$49.99
An eight year old single grain that has been finished in Bordeaux casks.
2,900 bottles made
Notes of sweet strawberries, vanilla, honey and fragrant spices on the palate along with ripe red fruit on the nose and back palate. The Bordeaux casks are assisting with the fruit presentation as well as the red fruit flourishes.
