Alpha Pretty Pleasy Mango Squeezy Hard Seltzer....$9.99 / 6pk cans
The hard seltzer and tonic trend has officially hit St. Louis with the launch of Easy Peasy Hard Tonic.

The brand, owned by Danielle Langeneckert, is kicking things off with its Easy Peasy Mango Squeezy hard tonic. Langeneckert says the name comes from something that she heard over and over when asking people why they enjoy hard seltzer and tonic – it's easy to drink.

Easy Peasy Mango Squeezy has a 5 percent alcohol content and 100 calories, keeping in line with big-name brands in the industry. However, the product does have a small amount of quinine, a bitter substance added that qualifies it as a tonic rather than a hard seltzer.

Langeneckert says that Easy Peasy's flavor and sweetness were all determined through a series of local taste tests. She says that consumers should expect more flavors to be released in a couple of months, including grapefruit and tangerine.

Besides being a St. Louis brand, Langeneckert says that all of the ingredients are locally sourced, from the flavors to the quinine to the St. Louis water. The tonics are produced at Alpha Brewing Co., which Langeneckert's husband, Derrick owns, but Langeneckert says they plan to keep the companies separate otherwise.

Currently, the mango tonic is only available in draft keg options, but 4-packs of 12-ounce cans will be released in October. St Louisans who want to try the tonic can currently find it on tap at Alpha, and it will also be rolling out to different spots around the city in the coming weeks. Langeneckert also says Easy Peasy will be doing more tastings throughout the St. Louis community to get people familiar with the product.

"We hope to see the brand grow," she says.
