What's the deal with pricing? the single barrel double the is 50 and aged an extra 14 months. The other store had it for 40 and its aged 10 months. I can guess it's because the age difference.
Now this is usually 45 dollars for the for the regular 9-11 year sb. So does the extra money cover the label?
There both non distillers or MGP. Maybe even some from four roses or wherever they get it doesn't matter.
Why do we let bottles continue to rise in price for a product that isn't distilled, aged, and bottled in the same place? I under why a FrSbLE is 100 bucks or 90 bucks. Or the ECBP is only 50. If you don't want to discuss this on this platform then I will email you. I'm not trolling! I wanna make that clear!
I am not sure why the charge more. I am sure it is more labor involved? Setting up the label and running a smaller lot, shipping the actual empty barrel to us? Not sure, we just base it on the cost that is charged us. The regular Single cask we had at $46.99 and it varied from 9-11 years.
I will always respond to emails if you have more questions paul@wineandcheeseplace.com

Please don't buy any. I wouldn't want you to be disappointed. Please leave it for the rest of us.
The answer to why they charge more is easy. It's a barrel selected by the store with the store logo on it. The expense and time it takes to hand stamp the labels alone would mean more labor on their end. Add to that the extra benefit of advertisements of each individual bottle being out there and you have a mark up. You can say what you will about SA not aging the product or distilling it but they buy a excellent product from MGP and Select the types of barrels they want so they are doing something right.
What is in the bottle is delicious, to me it does not matter they did not produce it themselves. Everyone that came in Saturday and tasted it seemed to love it and buy, because we started with 181 bottles at the beginning of the day and only 18 left already.
Already emailed for more barrel samples from Smooth Ambler. Unfortunately, it takes months to get it after we select.
Paul you're absolutely correct
Come on Paul! That sounds like Donald Trump! There were thousands of people there. If you don't follow your blog then you could sneak that number in.
I remember hearing we have 1 bottle of Ezra B 12 year. We have 1 bottle of Russell's reserve from the first barrel.
I'm sure there are are more. I like both of those. That Ezra B 12 year is great. I opened a bottle 2 weeks ago. I forgot what it tasted like. I thought it was gonna be flat. It's a solid bourbon. Both barrels or RR are great.
I know you said you were down to the last case and then I see it at all three stores.
I get the sales pitch and how you draw people into the store.
If you believed EB is a good bourbon then it should sell itself.
Stop putting fake numbers out there ( well it's your blog) I'm sure you still have it too.
So you only have 18 bottles of smooth ambler.?
You should fake, I was trying to share some four roses small batch Limited addition with a guy who couldn't get a bottle. His ego go in the way and said I didn't want that bottle.
He did want it because he got one the next day. He thought I was trying to act like I'm the man cause I got it, I share bourbon with everyone.
If you knew what you were talking about you wouldn't even say that.
I got 6 bottle of SASBBP, 3 bottle of contradiction, 3 bottles or old scout rye, a bottle of barrel strength old scout rye, old scout 7, old scout 10, other store barrel select, 4 bottles of yearling. I know it's good. I'm asking about pricing so close your mouth.
I should simplify it for you. I'm asking about prices. You prob didn't even buy a bottle. I know it's good without even tasting. I'm not against MGP or non distillers, I do my research and I suggest you do yours.
Dude you got it twisted. What's the matter with you? It's ok to ask Paul questions. I've forgot more info about bourbon then you even know. Stop hating, I'm asking questions and Paul can protect himself you weasel. I have not smooth ambler then all your bottles combined. Now this is the type of people that TWCP need to block. Get off his $&@@
Also it's not like Paul went to WV and tasted 50 barrels. They let you choose between a few. Four roses , buffalo trace you can go select.
It's like why do you need a single barrel-single barrel. I'd rather save the money and just get the regular single barrel without TWCP because in this case it's not gonna taste a lot different that the 9-11 regular single barrel.
Also I rarely ask questions. I try to bring positive vibes to the blog because I buy a lot of bottles. I want people to know it's good. I suggested they open bottle that cost 50 bucks so people can try them.
Be clear. 18 total bottles left between all 4 store. So if I come in on Monday you'll have 18 or less bottles. Post it if it's true and I'll check.

I do not over hype anything. In fact, I probably under hype. I see places post limited, very limited when I am told by the distributor buy as much as you want we have plenty. I would never do that. That is a short term sales technique that people figure out, I am not going to cry wolf. I posted the 18 bottles left to give people warning that were on the fence and I do that often, there are many people that will not reserve it online and just plan on walking in the store in the next week or so, assuming that it will be stacked on the floor. I want to avoid those people getting upset, because most of our barrels do not sell out that fast. I know 100% sure New Ballas has zero, they called me Saturday to tell me. Our Balwin store never got any as the van had left before the bourbon arrived. Our last 18 bottles at Forsyth have sold too, the only chance of some bottles left is our Rock Hill location, I do not know how many they sold on Saturday. To me it is officially sold out, if we have some bottles left, we will try to send them to Ballwin so he can get them to some of his regulars. To me sold out is when I take it offline, so people do not try to order it. Also found out no more barrels will be available for awhile -which is sad news. This will be it. I am not hyping that, that is what I am told. They could come back next week and say, we have some barrels for you, but I am passing along what I am told.
First, I have never posted we have 1 bottle left, if I have 1 bottle left it is just on the shelf for someone to find. When I hit 10 bottles or less, I mark it sold out online to avoid over-selling it and give some people a chance to find it in the stores.
As far at the Ezra B, I gave out true numbers. We were told we would not see anymore, but then more showed up (I guess I fell for the distributor's hype?). Actually a decent amount showed up after we were told it was not being made anymore. Again, I am down to 4 bottles on my shelf at Forsyth as of this morning. Not sure how much the other stores have left, and not sure if more is coming in. I post numbers that I believe are true are our not put out to hype, they are put out to inform. You know how many times we hear, if I knew you were not going to get that anymore, I would have stocked up. I try to give people that option.
I honestly do not know why are getting so upset, from your posts, you are obviously able to get the bourbons you want and have a lot of great bourbons. My advice to you is enjoy them and relax them, you have a lot of great bourbon at your house, why stress about other bourbons so much. Enjoy what you have!
I am not going to respond to anymore posts about this, I have given answers the I can.
Thanks very much,
Paul
Unlike Buffalo Trace, four roses, Beam when you pick a barrel at SA you can try as many barrels as you like. I've done two barrel picks myself and both times I had 10+ barrels I tasted. Just FYI.
