Bells Pooltime Ale with Tart Cherry Juice

Bells Pooltime Ale with Tart Cherry Juice...$10.99 / 6 pack
Pooltime Ale is a refreshing Belgian-inspired Wheat Ale with light clove notes. The truly distinguishing feature is the use of 100% Montmorency tart cherries grown in the Traverse City region of Michigan. These cherries add a subtle tartness and bright counterpoint to the other flavors, enhancing Pooltime’s fruity character and making it the perfect beer for all summer activities.

Logboat Flybye Farmhouse Ale

Logboat Flybye Farmhouse Ale...$8.99 / 6pk cans
5.5% ABV
Brewed for our 2nd anniversary, Flybye is a farmhouse ale fermented with yeast sourced from the Wallonian region of Belgium. It has bright citrus notes and a subtle, funky phenolic character to the aroma. The flavor is fruity citrus with a slight grain sweetness and a crisp, dry finish.
We liked this beer so much that we decided to make it in 2017 and CAN it!!!

Produttori del Barbaresco RISERVA

2014 Produttori Riserva Barbaresco
Sadly while the quality of the wines continues to rise so does their profile and popularity. We only received a fraction of what we ordered but are happy to offer a couple of selections at a great price.

2014 Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva Ovello...$59.98
The 2014 Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is bright and piercing, as it so often is, and yet it also has more than enough fruit to fill out its mid-weight, energetic frame. Pine, mint, crushed rocks and sweet red plum build into the huge, piercing finish. The Ovello is another wine in this range that demands patience. Even in the early going it is super impressive. The 2014 s an unusually dense, packed Ovello. It should be terrific in another few years' time.

2014 Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano...$59.98
One of the many highlights in this range, the Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano is superb. A big enrobing wine, the Montestefano wraps around the palate with stunning depth. Today, the Montestefano is utterly embryonic, and yet it exudes depth, resonance and pure class. The Montestefano is one of the more complete wines in the range because of the way it deftly balances fruit intensity and structure. Readers will have to be patient, though.

Founders Brewing Barrel Aged Agave

Founders Brewing Barrel Aged Agave...$13.99 / 4pk
We love cocktails. Like, really love them. If you ask us, few are more refreshing than the tart and tangy margarita and our latest barrel-aged beer pays tribute to that perennial classic. We took an imperial gose brewed with agave, lime and sea salt and then aged it in tequila barrels for just the right amount of kick. Consider it a party in a bottle. Más Agave!

Marietta Game Trail Cabernet Sauvignon

It's not often we find a 94 Point under $50 these days and it's almost unheard of for under $30. We are always looking for a great deal and boy did we find one here:

2016 Marietta Game Trail Cabernet Sauvignon...$29.98
Marietta's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Game Trail is powerful, dark and quite savory. Smoke, tobacco, gravel, menthol, cedar and licorice all run through this bold, pungent mountain Cabernet. There is quite a bit of aromatic intensity to play off the blackberry fruit in this strapping young wine. Give it a few years in bottle for the tannins to soften.

New 2018 Vintage!
Bargemone stood above the crowd!
"The terrific (and fairly priced) 2018 Bargemone Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rose stood out among the 139 rosés I tasted blind during my late February trip to Provence." - The Wine Advocate
2018 Bargemone Rose Coteaux d'Aix en Provence...$19.99
The terrific (and fairly priced) 2018 Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rose stood out among the 139 rosés I tasted blind during my late February trip to Provence. It combines hints of cantaloup with cassis in a medium-bodied, silky-textured wine that shows just a hint of leafiness on the finish. The blend is 40% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, and 5% Rolle

2018 Escudo Real Vinho Verde Rose...$8.99

Grapes: Touriga Nacional (60%) and Espadeiro (40%)
Escudo Real ROSE is all about the strawberry and red currants. The amazing pink color gives way to well-balanced flavors in the mouth that do super well with food. At 10.5% alcohol, this fresh fruity, slightly sparkly rose is a sunny-time must. Pink color and lively strawberry and red currant flavor complemented with floral hints reveal the exuberance of the aroma. In the mouth it’s well balanced with good acidity and tart fresh fruit notes, young and crisp. It boasts a smooth, delicate finish.

2018 Ornato Pinot Grigio...$11.99
Color: Brilliant straw colored wine with golden reflections.
Bouquet: Fresh and floral bouquet with a hint of pears, apricots and bananas blended with the intense aroma of acacia flowers.
Taste: Fresh and inviting with bright fruit and an easy drinking style with a pleasing hint of almonds in the aftertaste.
The agriculture is sustainable. No chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides are used.

2017 Bench Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County...$19.99
Suggested retail is $24
Deep purple in color and aromatically expressive with ripe, black plum currant coulis and minerally graphite. The structure is firm with soft, elegant tannins and mouth-watering acidity. Flavors of black forest fruit and earth, dark cocoa, mint and anise are meld together on the finish. Bench Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced exclusively from benchland vineyards in Sonoma County, where valley floor transitions to foothills. I prefer these vineyard sites as they produce concentrated and intense fruit that results in an elegantly balanced wine with depth, beauty and complexity.

The Name
Where did “Yippee Ki-Yay” come from? Is it a real expression of joy popular with cowboys in the 19th century Western United States? Is it part of the greatest one liner in movie history? Was it influenced by the phrase ‘Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay’ from the 1936 hit song “I’m an Old Cow Hand from the Rio Grande” about a 20th-century cowboy who has little in common with cowpunchers of old and sung by Bing Crosby in the film “Rhythm on the Range” (also sung later by Roy Rogers and Frank Sinatra) and considered one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time? We’re not sure. But we are sure we like how we feel when we say it... and recommend you use it every chance you get.
Back Label Story

We confess...we didn’t coin the term “Yippee Ki-Yay”. Moreover, we didn’t paint the picture on the front label. It’s an historic poster (Gift of The Coe Foundation and Henry B. Balink) now at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming (centerofthewest.org, you really ought to visit). Furthermore, we didn’t distill the whiskeys in this bottle - it’s our Double Rye! However, we did come up with a combination that we think will make you say...Yippee Ki-Yay drinkers of horrible tasting cheap flavored uisge beatha! One day, just for fun, we put Double Rye! into oak barrels that had originally been used to age two different types of wine and discovered an all-natural, not disgustingly-sweet sipper for the rest of us.
