According to Libby "Much different from the LSD, smooth, and loads of coffee notes. Not as boozy as BA LSD. It is sweeter. Vanilla is there, but only a trace. More of an enhancement of barrel and coffee notes."

Minervois best buy!

WOW - Wine of the Week!!
Taste it Saturday Jan 23 from 11am-3pm

2012 Domaine de Barroubio Minervois Rouge...$13.99
35% Syrah * 35% Grenache * 30% Carignan
Some vines are 110 years old
The grapes used to produce the Domaine de Barroubio Minervois come from south-facing vineyards with very iron rich sandy clay. These vineyards are at a relatively high altitude (300 meters above sea level), which helps moderate the normally hot climate of Minervois. This wine is aged exclusively in tank and spends no time in oak. 1600 cases produced. The Domaine de Barroubio Minervois rouge is dominated by wild briary fruit, and exotic spices in the nose. The wine’s wild, exotic side, comes from the Carignan, while the dark black fruit flavors comes from the Syrah These two grapes are then complimented by the addition of Grenache, which adds hints of red cherry and black pepper. This is a classic Minervois, built to complement grilled meats like lamb, duck, and smoked ribs.

95+ score and under $40

A 95 Point Cab for under $40!
Another blast from the past, hot on the heels of the release of the great 2012 Freemark Abbey Cabernet come what may be the best deal in Napa Valley Cabernet ever! Turns out they do make them like they used to, and price them that way too. The 2013 Clos du Val is an amazing wine don't hesitate to buy this one by the case.

2013 Clos du Val Cabernet Sauvignon...$34.99
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is striking. Powerful and dense in the glass, with utterly mesmerizing balance, the 2013 hits all the right spots. Graphite, smoke, grilled herbs, black cherries and incense form a tapestry of aromas and flavors that simply dazzles. The 2013 needs time in bottle for the tannins to soften, but it is a real head-turner. The combination of intense tannin and opulent fruit is classic 2013.

Old Potrero RYE

Old Potrero Single Malt Straight Rye Whiskey...$61.99
This straight rye whiskey was aged in new handmade charred oak barrels. In traditional barrel making, the cooper heats the staves over a fire of oak chips, allowing them to be bent and formed into a barrel. During this process, the inside of the barrel becomes lightly toasted. By the early 19th century, coopers had learned that if they allowed the heat to continue, the inside of the barrel would burst into flames and become charred. Handmade oak barrels-charred in this traditional manner-impart a rich color and unique character to this rye whiskey. 48.5% ABV

RED Sancerre from Lucien Crochet

RED SANCERRE

2010 Lucien Crochet Sancerre ROUGE La Croix du Roy...$35.99
From grapes harvested from several parcels which include a mix of stones and marne with south-southeast exposure. After a manual harvest, the grapes are pressed and the fermentation proceeds for approximately 30 days. Both remontage and pigeage are done but the degree to which they are practiced depends on the structure of each vintage. Sixty percent of this cuvée is aged in barrel and 40% in stainless steel for one year. The wine is then assembled and, for an additional eight months, is aged in stainless steel before being bottled approximately two years after harvest.

Cynar Original and new 70 Proof!

Cynar Liqueur 33 Proof....$23.99 / Liter
Cynar is an artichoke based bittersweet liqueur known for its versatility and distinctive flavour; its taste is enriched by an infusion of 13 herbs and plants. The name of the drink derives from Cynar scolymus, the botanical name for artichoke, as artichoke leaves lend the distinctive flavour.  The secret recipe, which has remained the same since its creation, is based on some of the natural substances found in the artichokes, including ‘cynarine’.  Created by Angelo Dalle Molle, a Venetian entrepreneur and philanthropist, Cynar was launched in Italy in 1952. Since then, the brand has grown and is now distributed internationally.  Cynar became popular in Italy thanks to the first ads (during the Italian “Carosello”) performed by the famous actor, Ernesto Calindri and the claim “Cynar, against the attrition of modern life”.  Thanks to its refreshing and herbal bittersweet features and its moderate abv (16,5%), Cynar is an ideal pre or post dinner drink, and a bartender favorite to create “pungent” and original cocktails.

Cynar Liqueur 70 Proof...$31.99 / Liter

Like its older sibling, Cynar 70 Proof is crafted from the same secret recipe of 13 infused herbs and plants. The liqueur carries distinctive herbal notes married with hints of dried fruit and rounded by caramel smoothness. The result is a pleasant surprisingly rounded taste and smooth complex bittersweet notes.  The rich and distinctive taste and the velvet texture make Cynar 70 proof perfect to be enjoyed as a shot or sipped as a premium brown spirit, or as the protagonist in sophisticated cocktails. This higher proof spin on the classic artichoke liqueur with its unique, bold and premium image arrives as the newest entrant among premium spirits.
