Palacios Remondo La Montesa

2016 Palacios Rioja Remondo La Montesa...$15.99
I returned to the 2016 La Montesa once it had been in bottle for almost eight months. It has all the rosemary, thyme and aromatic plants in the Monte Yerga in Alfaro. It has a note of incense. It's super juicy Garnacha with citrus freshness. It's incredible to have this quality at this price and almost unbelievable that they produced 690,000 bottles of it. A steal!

Absolut Peppar Vodka...$14.99
Absolut Peppar was launched in 1986, seven years after Absolut Vodka. Besides being the first flavored vodka in the family, it was also the first flavored vodka in the world. So why pepper? Since vodka and pepper is the main ingredients in a Bloody Mary, it seemed like a good idea to make things easier for the many Bloody Mary bars popping up in Boston, New York and elsewhere at the time. The idea soon turned out as intended, both for bartenders who could now make Instant Bloody Marys, and for all the fans of the drink.
Absolut Peppar is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike most other flavored vodkas, it doesn't contain any added sugar. Absolut Peppar is hot and spicy and has a distinct character of green bell, chili and jalapeño pepper.

Pungent aromas of gooseberry, black current and passion fruit. Hints of nettle, with floral and mineral notes add allure and complexity. This wine possesses nectarine, pink grapefruit and guava leading to a vibrant citrus finish. Oysters are a natural partner for this refreshing, Sauvignon Blanc. White fish or a fresh seasonal salad would also pair exceptionally. For a flavour sensation try it with grilled scallops with an anchovy, mint, and coriander dressing. - Winery

Rockwood Lump Charcoal

Back in stock for Mother's Day weekend!

Rockwood Lump Charcoal...$17.99 / 20lb Bag
It is currently the number #1 rated hard wood charcoal on the Nakedwhiz.com

100% Missouri hardwood charcoal.
When we poured the charcoal out onto the ground for sorting, we all hardwood charcoal with nothing that shouldn't have been there. As you can see from the following chart, the distribution of sizes was exceptional with the percentage of chips and dust falling below 5%. This is very low compared to all other charcoals we have tested. The bag contained almost an extra pound of charcoal, so we ended up with almost 20 pounds of usable charcoal.

There was no sparking or popping when lighting the charcoal in a chimney starter and the fire was somewhat slow to spread. The smoke coming off the charcoal during lighting was very mild, as mild as we think we have ever noticed.

During our maximum temperature test, the charcoal burned at just over 900° which is high compared to other brands we've tested. Again, the fire was rather slow to spread and build up to the high temperature it achieved.

When it came to burn time, this charcoal came in as the fourth longest burning lump charcoal we have ever tested. The ash produced was very low compared to other brands.

You get a charcoal that doesn't over power the food, allowing you to control the smoke flavor yourself with chips or chunks, and a charcoal that burns a good long time producing little ash and delivering good value for money. This charcoal gets our Highly Recommended rating.

Citrus, strawberry and kiwi fruit appear on the nose of the 2018 Cuvee Marina Rose. A pale pink blend of 35% Grenache, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Syrah, and 10% Counoise, it's medium-bodied and fine, elegantly structured and long, without any of the leafy Cabernet elements but showing some of that variety's hallmark restraint.

Citra Hop

Citra Hop
American aroma hop Citra was created by John I. Haas, Inc. and Select Botanicals Group joint venture, the Hop Breeding Company. It was released to the brewing world in 2008. Now one of the most coveted high-impact aroma hops in the US, particularly among craft brewers, it boasts a complex lineage that includes the likes of Hallertau Mittelfrüh (father), Tettnanger (US), Brewer’s Gold and East Kent Golding.

Gene Probasco is credited with having first bred Citra in 1990. After trialing the new variety with iconic craft breweries Deschutes, Sierra Nevada and others, commercial acreage was significantly expanded in the lead up to its official release.

Citra, as the name implies, has a strong citrusy profile. This is largely credited to its very high myrcene content. It has an extraordinary flavor profile of grapefruit, lime and tropical fruits but despite its high alphas, brewers often warn against its use for bittering, which is considered by some to be harsh and undesirable.  - Hoplist

Pusser's Gunpowder Proof Rum

Pusser's British Navy Gunpowder Proof Rum...$29.99
Pusser’s ‘Gunpowder Proof’ is a traditional Royal Navy style rum produced at original Admiralty strength and in accordance with the Admiralty’s blending recipe last used when the Royal Navy discontinued its daily ration on 31 July 1970.

Gunpowder Proof: Prior to the invention of the hydrometer, the Royal Navy ship’s “Pusser” shutdown claims of watering down sailors’ daily tots by dousing a bit of gunpowder in the rum and attempting to light. If the mixture ignited, the rum was “at proof.” If it didn’t, the Pusser might find himself tossed to sea.

Alc/Vol: 54.5%

Color: Clear, dark coppery amber with burnished copper highlights
Nose: Pungent molasses, treacle, toffee, honey and vanilla with oak, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger
Body: Full-bodied with a more enhanced flavour profile than the lower proof Blue Label
Finish: Long finish, and despite its strength, smooth and mellow
